Qartoq, Raptor States → Ray Das → Manor

She might have noticed that more of the Krakaris died in a shorter span of time than usual, if she'd been paying attention. There were mortals dying every day though. Qartoq certainly noticed it now that they were praying for her to get revenge on their attackers.

Death wondered if they knew what they were asking for. It was possible, and she thought of a number of ways of doing it in the time it took for her to decide on a course of action. Once begun she feared it would continue, snowball, and get out of hand, so it was best to be careful and hidden in any action she chose to pursue.

"I'll try my best." Qartoq whispered in response to one of those praying to her, Cawles, as she had been the first among them to lead. "Although, while concealed and striking from the shadows. No need to risk it escalating just yet."

After she'd said that she shrunk in size, seeing the houses and walls around her grow tall. It was different, when she was used to being taller than most. She stopped shrinking when she was the size of a small mouse, and made her invisibility stronger. She took no new avatar, for she would be nothing more than a mind, a whisper on the wind. Now she'd only need to jump in time and space again.

She found the attacker's origins, or at least the country of those the Krakaris wanted her to bring death too. Qartoq thought of what to do, but made no sound or movement, thinking it into reality. The firey coloured beetles should be crawling out of the woodworks, carrying a plague to wipe out the mortals living here if she was successful. Qartoq didn't stick around to find out, instead she warped back to her manor. She'd never left it as far as anyone should be concerned. She assumed her normal avatar once inside, and laid down on a bed to enjoy a bit of wine and food.

Gangari, Sammah Ajivha-Tahna - 13/15 AP

It was an interesting experience to speak to another god for Gangari, though as to where the others were coming from was beyond him.

Indraj had taken to his gifts rapidly thankfully and was soon admitted back to Ajivhan society in time for their Festival of Silence. A festival of silence was something new to Gangari, though he was quite familiar with silence and reflection himself after a decade of it, a nation dedicating itself for over a month to it was new to him though.

Connecting himself mentally to the activities of humans and participating was something he felt he need to do to stay sane. He found that with slight adjustments to his form he was seen as a simple beggar, the kind of person that was casually ignored by society and took to this disguise frequently when he wasn't involved in anything. Wandering amongst the crowds and watching others as they lived. Looking and acting like one of them made it easier to learn about them and therefore help them.

But after wandering the city it eventually became time to begin his first grand work on Ajivhan society.

After a few minutes of thinking how he would want it to appear he walked to the place he chose and buried a silver acorn there, willing it to grow fast and strong from the sands of the desert and the rock of Ekaki.

-Spoke to Lysei

- Created The University of Silver-root.
(Should be difficulty 9, with a cost of 3 AP. His Wisdom Domain Bonus of +2 and Rune Magic Domain Bonus of +2 should both apply to become a total bonus of +4.)

Growing out of the sands at the edge of Ekaki is a large University.

Grand in scale with a design somewhat reminiscent of Ajivhan architecture but with elements distinctly like that of a large tree-like plant. Covering the exterior of the university is a living metal (non-conductive) reminiscent of bark with the shine and colour of silver and the hardness of steel. The interior of the university's building's is composed of seamless wood (fireproof) with the colour of mahogany and the physical traits of Granite. If the wood was cut into, it would be quickly realized that it was alive and filled with pressurized veins carrying a substance best described as a cross between sap and oil with a colour reminiscent of blood.

In most rooms of the university there is a vine hanging from the center of the ceiling. On the vine is a nutrient rich and luminescent (the equivalent of a bright torch in terms of brightness) seedless fruit with a transparent fleshy skin and a taste not unlike that of an orange.

Growing from and covering the roofs of the university are large black vein covered leaves. They share the same traits of those of the tea plant, however their taste is more bitter than that of the average tea leaf.

If the ground under the university was dug into it would be discovered that the structures are all connected by an odd rooting system and that the actual structures go deeper than what is accessible from the surface.

A thousand feet under the "university" it would be discovered that the structures above are merely the top of a plant as they are connected fully to eachother through a sort of "bedrock" composed of the same living metal on the exterior of the structures.

Under this "bedrock" and surrounded by it in a sphere is a large library-like room only accessible by Gangari. It is filled with thousands of large tomes that are connected to the structure and growing from it. The tomes are filled with runes upon runes, each fulfilling a different purpose but all working towards a single goal, the sustainment of the living University. The runes and the way they are arranged if studied would be best described as a sort of runic programming. This room is the "nucleus" of Silver-root.

Coming from the sphere aside from the structure above is roots of the living metal going deep into the Earth and Ekaki.

- Should have 10/15 AP at end of turn

Lysei, Somewhere at the Bottom of the Ocean, 13 AP

Lysei was sitting at the bottom of the world's great oceans. The occasional fish would swim by, only to quickly dart away feeling the massive increase in temperature. Lysei had isolated himself from the mortals, more than a little angry with how the Ray Das had continued to attack despite losing their leaders. This was not how he expected it. Yet, those who had committed the crimes had already been punished. There simply wasn't a way to go about this without simply killing an entire nation, which would be far too extreme.

The god of flames however, was not alone. Someone had been watching him for a time, another god most likely. Though who it was, was far beyond him. Feeling a bit calmer, and needing something to do other than rage at the Ray Das and Jikashi, Lysei rose up to the surface of the water and said calmly. "You may come out now."

Gangari strode out across the water to the flame deity, this being the first other deity he had decided to reveal himself to.

"My name is Gangari. I watched what you did to those barbarians in the face of their new god and I felt it would be best if we spoke face to face." He paused "I knew of the Ray-das when they were young. They don't have much of a capacity for reason and their creator made them think they're acting correctly." He paused "If you try to cut their metaphorical head off they'll grow more. If you wipe them out they'll pop up somewhere else. If you do nothing they'll get worse." He paused again "The best way of stopping them is to contain them."

Lysei examined the other god. His appearance reminded him of?but that was impossible. He had never met this deity before. As such Lysei quickly calmed himself further and said "Good to meet you Gangari, I am Lysei, which you may or may not already know.? Lysei looked outward towards the Ray Das continent and said softly. "Being vague won't help the either of us, what do you mean when you say containment? Simply forcing them into one singular spot of land? That could lead to them being invaded by others due to weakness. I am not ready to condemn them fully due to one attack. Please do elaborate on your containment idea." The god of vengeance was a bit on edge after meeting Jikashi, though if Gangari already dislikes the water god, perhaps he wouldn't be as callous towards strife.

Gangari took a moment to think "You're right in that it would be wrong to limit them to a single city, They'd fight that anyway. But they don't have to have their cities here." He paused "Their Jashiki has already shown his capacity for creating land." He pointed to the east "If their attempts at settling and raiding and invading this continent are met only with misfortune they may give up on it and beg their god for their own lands. Distance may discourage them and their aggressive nature will cause them to turn on themselves in the end."

Lysei looked up at the skies. They were fantastically serene, almost immune to what was happening below, blissfully unaware Funny how much he despised the sky for something it had no control of. "As much as I hate to admit it, my time is limited, I don't want to waste a massive amount of my moments and power on the Ray Das. Not when there is so much already to improve on this world. If war does break out, and it may, I think we should attempt to enforce some rules of engagement, a few laws that would limit the civilian death and stem the bloodshed to a reasonable amount. Perhaps we should hold a meeting of the gods soon." Lysei did not feel much kinship with the others, but it would likely be wise to meet them.

Gangari took a moment to observe the creature infront of him before speaking "That is fair, I was merely suggesting a possible solution to them. As to your suggestion of setting rules for war, though I have little experience with the other gods, I agree. Dampening the chaos of war would be in the best interest of the future. If you secure the cooperation of the other deities for this meeting I shall appear." He paused and looked at a school of fish gathering underneath him "Interesting." He looked at Lysei again and spoke "If you have further dealings with the Ray-Das and their god you will have my support as long as you remain sane."

"So be it." Lysei replied with eyes set to the sky. "I may very well do that within the next season or two. Until then, my destination is set." Perhaps he would take a note out of Jikashi's book with his next move. A blade that could pierce the skies themselves, one that would allow for mortals to seek out their justice, instead of having a god do it for them. Perhaps he could make those who live in the clouds above everyone else realize how those down there lived. Lysei could only try. With that, he disappeared and began to forge his sword.

Talk to another god
Forge a -2 item, Wrath's Edge.

Wrath's Edge is a dagger, it looks fairly simple, but it in reality is anything but. The wielder of Wrath is its owner, this person has exclusive rights to Wrath for as long as Wrath stays with the owner. This means Wrath can not be used against its owner, not unless it has been stolen from its owner for at least a day, in which case possession changes. Possession can also change at Lysei's discretion, or Wrath has been used to kill someone.

Wrath is not a normal blade, it is the perfect tool for assassinations, because unlike a normal blade, it does not cut. Instead, whomever uses Wrath to strike another will instantly find themselves waking up from a long nap, everything they had done to assassinate or kill the other feeling like a dream. The user and the one who has been struck both have had their fates altered, the user is clear of suspicion, being noted as asleep in his house during the murder, and his target simply died of a common house fire, unfortunate but impossible to trace under normal circumstances.

To summarize: Person A stabs Person B. Person A wakes up as if it was a dream, Person B dies in a house fire or some sort of fire-related accident. THE BLADE DOES NOT CUT THINGS.

After being used to kill someone, Wrath may or may not stay in the possession of its current owner. It really just depends on a number of variables.

Lot-Vos, High Tower

Wolf-Keal looked over the reports. In spite of the gods rain upon them, the Ray-Das managed to successfully raid and loot from the winged creatures, in a true show of spirit. His early speech echoed in his head, but he couldn't help but think about the attacks on his people. Wolf-Keal was a warrior first and foremost, leader of the Elites before his hasty promotion. He was enraged at the behind-the-back attacks by the gods, and that despite them pulling back and giving up more resources, this god was blind and stupid and decided to attack. Like all young gods, many had said.

Wolf-Keal began his walk down to the training yards where two new units trained. They were getting ready for war, this time not in favour of loot or gold, but in land. Those winged bastards will pay for crossing the Ray-Das, even if it may be their god's fault. On one hand, a unit of siegers trained, testing new ladder and siege engine techniques. A few were busy learning from the miners about the easiest and best way to make a makeshift tunnel.

On the other stood a fierce unit of Elite, readying and preparing for open combat. They fought side by side, half in their animal form and half in their halfling. Swords and bows clang and twang, providing music to their battle dance. Wolf-Keal was impressed at the sudden vigour of these men and women, something only seen when the old gods lived.

As he strode up the steps back to High Tower, he was brought into a lower room, where a few of his most holy men were working. The ritual was long and expensive, but as Wolf-Keal sat himself into the chair and the chanting began, he knew the gods would not have such an easy time beheading the Ray-Das.

Jashiki

The invisible barrier sprung up exactly as Jashiki had envisioned it, those blessed by his mark or related to one who was would be able to cross through it without causing so much as a ripple in its substance, while others would find it impassable. No doubt the god would be able to see this in action soon enough, after all the summons of a god would be intriguing indeed.

(note: it is a minor action if nation players with benders want to have them go check out the island)

Cyth'raul

The maggot's skin became tough steel and it raised itself up and slammed down on the ground, the walls of the cave around it shaking from the impact. It let out a mighty roar and soon other maggots rose around it, enraged by its mere presence. The force made its way towards the Golden Tribes, tearing apart the earth as they went. But then, the pactforger appeared once more to it, and spoke.

"Leader. Obey. Same as Creator."

The maggot calmed, though its fury still lay hidden beneath, and the other maggots began to disperse. The maggot queen sat patiently before Jugaan, waiting to see what his command might be. And when he spoke, it obeyed.

Qartoq

After her departure the beetles began to emerge, peacefully chewing on the leaves of the plants around them. Her designs had failed though, for whatever reason the beetles bore no illness, and in fact the only harm they caused was to a few crops, a loss the farmer recouped by discovering that their brightly colored shells could be ground up to use as a pigment.

_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Gangari

The Silver-root University grew tall and strong from the earth, over the coming weeks it sprouted into a towering living structure, its halls empty but open and welcoming. It had the potential to be a great place of study and learning if the Ajihvams simply took the effort to stock its shelves with their knowledge, and fill its halls with teachers and students.

(Sammah can implement the university as a technology (giving an edge on researching) at the cost of 2 wealth)

_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Lysei

The blade was fashioned expertly, its curved slightly wavy blade embodying the flames that had forged it, though the rest of its features seemed simple enough for it to pass as a kitchen knife or the like. It was a dangerous weapon in the right hands, and those hands would likely be ever shifting.

_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Sammah Ajihva-Tahna

The scouts that left found nothing but empty waters where they searched, though the scholars and architects back in Grand Ajihva had more success in their endeavors. Working in silence, honoring the festival as they were, they were forced to communicate through designs drawn up and passed around. Oddly enough this prevented them from engaging in some of their usual squabbles or scholarly debates, and directed their focus entirely to the walls, which they soon had a plan to improve.

_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Raptor States

The curved blades were soon produced in great numbers, and passed out to the Krakari army, who began to train with them. In the wake of the raids all attentions seemed devoted to war, the army trained, a new citadel was constructed, and even the prayers of the people turned to asking for their goddess to act, or in an increasing number of cases vilifying the Ray-Das god as a monster or demon.

Jashiki could feel the distorted stories of him the Krakari passed among themselves, it intermingled with the prayers he received and distorted them, and his power waned as a result.

(results of secret action are below in the Ray-Das section)

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Aurora

Lysei's teachings began to spread like wildfire through the nation, while many still had their doubts the endorsement of the emperor did a great deal to encourage the spread of what had formerly been a cult at best. Temples throughout the nation added prayers to the god of fire to their scriptures, and in some a small fire was kept burning on the altars continuously in an expression of reverence.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Deep Tribes

The maggot queen's aid was not the only success the Deep tribes saw, the moss tribes efforts continued to be rewarded and they began to squirrel away excess food as well. The reinforcements to their lands also went along quite well. In truth though most of the Luug would find the Maggot Queen far more interesting news though, after all if a god could grant them such a beast what else might he be able to give them?

____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Ray-Das

The training went well, the Ray-Das were made eager and proud by their success and put their efforts towards preparing for further victories. The loss of Ber-Sam and the other leaders was felt, though and the ritual began in earnest to protect another of their leaders from suffering the same fate.

It was an ancient thing, from the time of the old gods, some said that it was the work of a rebellious servant of theirs, others that it was simply the earth itself willing a protection upon the mortals. Whatever the case the ritual concluded and what wealth had not been paid out to the priests performing it had seemingly vanished. In its place sat a small grey stone, warm to the touch, an object now bonded to Wolf-Keal that would hide him from the sight of the gods, unless he wished for them to see him.

Not all threats to the Ray-Das were divine though, days passed and one of the cooks approached Wolf-keal, he had spotted a Krakari sneaking among the kitchens and decided to give the food intended for him to a dog to see if it had been tampered with. The dog had quickly grown ill and perished, it seemed that an attempt had been made on Wolf-keal's life, and while it had thankfully been averted the assassin in their midst had not been caught.

(since the action was successfully opposed the Ray-Das are now aware of the Krakari agent, though they haven't caught them)

Highcrag

Jugaan made good on her second pact with Cyth'raul, quickly returning to the capital once her affairs up north were settled. However, before she left, she gave one last command to Wos: reattempt the settling to the east, this time with the help of the Pactforger's new "gift".

With that being carried out, Jugaan visited those of her Tribe in Highcrag and told them the tale of the sudden attack on the Golden Settlement, and how they were spared by the intervention of Cyth'raul. Carefully leaving out the detail that it was the Pactforger herself that brought the attack down upon them, Jugaan encouraged her men to pray to Cyth'raul, and to honor whatever deals they wished to make with her.

Once she made sure that the Gold Tribe was firmly behind Cyth'raul, Jugaan moved on to the Mud Tribe. It was small, only recently formed after the Luug had moved out of the caves, but their Chieftain was firmly wrapped around Jugaan's finger, and required little convincing to turn his Tribe to Cyth'raul's side. However, the last Tribe Jugaan planned to complete her end of the divine bargain was the Moss Tribe. While their Chieftain did owe Jugaan favors, he was an adherent to the Pale One's faith, and would require convincing.

"Heresy!" Jugaan practically predicted the first word that would spew from the "Mossy One's" mouth. "You dare betray our Creator? He-Who-Gave-Us-Salvation?! If I were Supreme, I'd have your head-!"

"But you're not Supreme, are you, Ion'dan? Let us not waste the effort in imagining what is not to be. Regardless, I assure you that Cyth'raul is worth this...trespass. Through her power, I now command a maggot broodmother of enormous size!"

"You abandon Therax for a pet? You shallowness knows no bounds, Jugaan! The audacity, the blasphemy!"

"Enough!" Jugaan smashed the ground of Ion'dan's den with a fist, almost turning over the Moss Chieftain's dispatches to spread the word of his Tribe's new achievements. "I did not come here to philosophize with you, I have come to collect on debts. The Moss Tribe's existence is practically dependent on the Gold Tribe's generosity. Those caves you seem to toil away in for months are mines stripped clean by my Tribe, and it is our gold your Tribe depends on for trade! You owe me a great deal, Ion'dan, and I doubt you have the means to pay beyond this...'favor'."

Ion'dan backed away for a moment. Jugaan's heresy pushed him towards anger, but if it came to blows he had no chance against Jugaan. Now she brought up the many debts the Moss Tribe owed the Gold Tribe, though most were accrued before Jugaan came to power. She was right, though, the Moss Tribe could not pay the debt back should compensation be called for. "If I do this, the debts will be forgiven?"

Jugaan relaxed a bit, seeing progress. "Yes, I shall even inscribe a release of debt on the Lore Stones themselves."

Ion'dan's face contorted into a mask of disgust. "I will hand my Tribe over to this 'Pactforger', but I'll be damned to give up Therax myself!"

"That's all I ask for." Jugaan smiled. "But pray in silence, old fool, there are new gods afoot."

The Green Caves

Keplar oversaw the planting of the new crops, frowning as he remembered the haphazard "science" the Luug conducted while experimenting. The moss cultivation so far had been successful by random chance, with the moss basically smashed to together to produce a new form. There was no precision, no documentation.

However, there was also an opportunity. Keplar's experience had given him an idea about the formation of a standardized process for progress, applicable regardless of whatever field the process was applied to. To cement this idea, Keplar secluded himself to a private area and started to conduct several experiments in several fields, applying his method to see if his predictions could be accurately evaluated.

1. Employ the Giant Maggot Queen to help settle the lands to the northeast (under Qartoq's Manor)
2. Implement the new Moss research
3. Research a scientific method (research bonus to researching)

(Cultural-Continue to spread worship of the Pactforger, allocate 3 population points to Cyth'raul.)

Grand Ajivha: Palace of the Vazin

As per the custom the Vazin spent much of Mauna in his chambers. One morning, after a week of isolation and fasting,he exited onto his balcony. Needless to say he was surprised by the gigantic metal tree.

It was fascinating to watch a city full of citizens trying to articulate their surprise without saying a word.

While the festivals start had begun with a speech and ceremony its end was less dramatic, one day the city was silence, the next it was not. Immediately the Vazin set out to organises what to do with the new structure, Gangari had made its nature clear to him now it was his job to make it a reality. First he needed a Dean, someone to run the University, the first choice was obvious.

He sent his men out to find Indraj-Alika, the boy had not been seen since he departed with Gangari but he was found quickly, teaching some waifs in the poorer districts. The youth he had met in his palace was gone, in front of him stood a young man, almost aged by Gangari's knowledge. The Vazin offered him a place as the Universities new master, surprisingly enough the lad rejected.

'My place is in the forge.' He said 'Making the steel sing. The University is not just a place for Runes, it is a home of knowledge. I am not a smart man, I am not a scholar.'

In the end he agreed to set up shop in the University as well as help those who wished to study Runes.

Thankfully Ajivha had no lack of scholars, a few of which had been blessed or visited by the god. The Vazin placed the most able in charge, those who lead research in their respective fields. Grhak Arakha was even offered a place, though he was too busy playing with his new city to work right now.

With the teachers ready the Vazin felt it time to open the Universities doors, not before asking Gangari to deliver a message to all the nations of the world.

'Come. For there is only one good, knowledge, and one evil, ignorance. The deserts grow dark, let us offer you a torch.'

Gangari, Sammah Ajivha-Tahna - 10/15 AP
Gangari walked through his university and marveled at how well it had turned out. The young and old walked side by side here learning and teaching each other. But this wasn't the end of his work.

The Vazin had asked him to let the world in. So he spoke to those who would hear him, letting his voice echo through the world and the minds that dwelt within.
"Come. For there is only one good, knowledge, and one evil, ignorance. The deserts grow dark, let us offer you a torch."

Then he spoke specifically to it's leaders. The Emperor of Aurora, the Chieftains of the Luug, the Family Heads of the Krakari, and the Elders of the Yish'Tai.
"I am Gangari. I wish to offer you and your people the opportunity to learn. I have constructed a University to the West of Grand Ajivha on the east side of Ekaki. It is a place of Enlightenment and welcome to all who wish to learn."

He briefly considered talking to the leader of the Ray-das, except after the death of Ber-sam he didn't know who was leading them. The offer was still open to their people however.

Gangari walked to the Workhouse of the university and inside gathered was the first group he was to teach beside his Demiurge. He started infusing them with his energies and began to speak to them. Throughout the month he would teach several hundred and begin them down the path of the Artificer.

- Spoke to Vazin Andha, Indraj-Alika, and the fifty people offered to Gangari to choose a Demiurge from.
- Spoke to the world.
- Spoke to Emperor Kaius, The Chieftans and Supreme of The Deep Tribes, The Family Heads of the Raptor States, and The Elders of Rok'lo Sha.

- Blessed five hundred Ajivhans with the Rune of the Artificer and began to train them in the Runic Arts.
(Should be difficulty 9, with a cost of 3 AP. Total domain bonus applied to the roll should be +4.)

Runic Magic

Gangari: Deity level powers clearly. If he was killed or banished the system would cease to function until another deity took his place and restored it.

The Demiurge: The Common Features of a Demiurge are eyes that glow slightly blue not unlike Gangari and pieces of golden metal (in the shape of eight spirals connected by their tails at the centre) bonded permanently to both of the backs of his hands (if an attempt to remove it was made, it would be found that it is attached to the bone, if it was torn off from the Demiurge's body the mark would disappear from the the piece that was torn off and reform on another piece of the Demiurge's body assuming he was alive). They are enhanced from their original forms to be stronger and faster without it outwardly showing. Their minds are made keener and their lives are lengthened in the process of their rebirth.

If he was killed those below him would lose power until another Demiurge is created. There is only a single Demiurge at a time and through him powers are filtered down from Gangari to the others. In terms of power he is equivalent to a mid to high level Pathfinder Mystic Theurge and is the most knowledgeable rune smith second only to Gangari.

The Demiurge is the lorekeeper and sage of the system. His duty as intended by Gangari is to collect, record, and teach what he can about the Runes and perhaps some day other forms of magic.

Artificers: On both of the backs of their hands is a tattoo created from specialized inks applied by The Demiurge. The tattoo is of seven spirals connected by their tails at the centre. If all of the artificers were killed those below them would lose power until more were created. They receive their power from the Demiurge and it is filtered down from Gangari through him. In terms of power and skills they are equivalent to mid level D&D artificers, they are knowledgeable rune smiths.

The Artificers are the scientists, scholars, and true specialists of the system. Their main duties regard experimenting with the runes and creating powerful objects and weapons relating to their craft of choice.

Runewrights: On both of the backs of their hands is a tattoo created from specialized inks applied by an Artificer. The tattoo is of four spirals connected by their tails at the centre. If all of the runewrights were killed the evokers would lose power until more were trained. In terms of power and skills they are equivalent to low to mid level D&D magewrights, the majority of them are apprentices of Artificers.

Evokers: On both of the backs of their hands is a tattoo created from specialized inks applied by a Runewright. The tattoo is of a single spiral contained within a circle. Evokers receive the least amount of power and are only capable of producing what would be considered cantrips in D&D. They are capable of runesmithing but their runes tend to fade over time and therefore produce only temporary and minor effects. They are incapable of inscribing runic tattoos onto others and any attempts merely lead to dead marks.

The Evokers are usually servants of Artificers and Runewrights, however the honour has been granted to others as well.

Untrained Sentients: No runic tattoos unless dead marks or blessings are counted. They are unable to scribe runes but they are capable of utilizing most items enchanted with runes. These are the average people of the lands.

Runes: Marks upon objects that draw power into an object to power an enchantment, there are many and their effects vary based upon the rune itself, the object in question, other runes upon the object, and their position in relation to other runes upon the object. Their strength is determined by the creature that scribed it.

Dead marks: Simple Tattoos with no effects. This term is usually used to describe a failed rune.

The Spiral based runes scribed onto mages are what allow them to use magic. Each spiral is representative of an alchemic element: Air, Earth, Fire, Mercury, Salt, Sulphur, and Water. The eighth is only scribed upon the Demiurge for it is representative of life, the soul, and the mind. It is what sets him apart from his peers and connects him to Gangari above all else. Artificers are inscribed with all but the eighth. The spirals of runewrights are connected to Air, Earth, Fire, and Water. The spiral of the evoker is connected to a single element which could be Air, Earth, Fire, or Water.

- Should have 7/15 AP at end of turn

"These new blades will be the bane of those damned halflings." Farko said as he unsheated one of the new blades. They were curved and contorted to fit perfectly in the arms of a Krakaris warrior. It did look intimidating and in the arms of anybody else, the blade was unwieldy and awkward to hold.

"If their archers don't whittle your men away." Gora smirked as usual. "I've heard these tiny humans have quite the gift of the bow. If you don't believe me just ask the Krakaris who fought against them."

"Enough, Gora." Jaherys said. "Aerya, I dispatched a group of scholars to the university. If word from this one is true then it would be extremely beneficial to educate ourselves there. They offer knowledge which is more crucial than ever to have in these circumstances."

"Good, hopefully they will learn something that they can teach to us." Aerya said. These past few days have been a busy one. Their new settlement "Talis" underwent construction in order to turn itself into a mighty citadel. It would be a formidable place to siege and if they do ignore it on the way to Silver Claw then their mistake would be costly. But from what Aerya had been told, any chance to appeal to Ray-Das had been burned away courtesy of Gora Oscen. Ray-Das would not take kindly to the assassination attempt more than they had taken kindly to the raid. Aerya felt guilty for allowing that to happen but she needed the Oscens more than she liked to admit and despite all her best intentions, Gora still acted without her knowledge. Even if the attempt failed, she knew Gora had other orders for his agent and they would hear about it soon enough.

"I agree." Farko said. "Knowledge is key, even in winning battles so that is why I sent some scouts to gather information on the the lands of Ray-Das, specifically in the southeast. If we are to make an attack then that is the place we must strike. Mercenaries would significantly help us in this endeavor."

"We only hire help when we strike. We do not want armed brigands to loiter in our territories. We simply cannot fall easily into trust these days. The days of war are upon us and we must keep our daggers to our side at all times." Aerya said to the elders. The momentum of war had slightly died down when they shifted their focus to the building of the citadel and producing of better arms but if Ray-Das moved again then even Aerya wouldn't stop them from waging war. Even the prayers from the shine shifted from demonizing of the Ray-Das God to the prayers before.

Lysei, forgery. 8 AP

As Lysei sheathed his blade, he smirked and looked at his flames, they were larger. Vallous was good prophet, and his Weaver had made good on her end too. Everything was going according to plan. The only wild card that remained was Kaius, and he could be kept under close inspection. It was almost amusing how quickly mortal worship changed with a simple offer of power. These ideals that were held so high for so many years, left to rot over some protection. Lysei laughed, he couldn't help it. Mortals were just so?fickle. That's why they needed him, Lysei acted as a counter balance to a broken system, everything was in place. Laws were just the tools of oppressors, he wondered what society would be like without them. Perhaps some sort of divine code would preside instead of mortal law. In fact, Lysei knew exactly how to proceed, it was time for him to make good on the key aspect of godhood, he would make life.

But how to go about it?he could just make a sub race, but that would hold too many variables, these creatures had to be something new, something of his designs. But Lysei was fully aware that he probably lacked the power to create such beings. In fact, this could serve his purposes in a number of ways. He would release a new form of magic, call it divine spark or something, those untrained in how to use it could create simple things, and perhaps use them for whatever ways they may see fit. But those who truly investigate their power, and the select few Lysei would visit in time, they would understand the true purpose of this. They would play right into his hands, and their quest for their own power would ultimately help undo it. How?fitting. Lysei let out all of the rage bottled up inside him since the incident earlier, and attempted to send out his blessing to as many downtrodden it could reach. Political prisoners, slaves, dissidents and rebels, all would find themselves in possession of these creation powers. Those who were in influential seats, including a few of the Black Feathers of the Krakari, and one particular noble within Aurora will soon become the medium through which Lysei could begin phase two of his operation. Hopefully the newly empowered rebels would provide a distraction long enough for this to work. Perhaps some of them would even survive, at least now they had a chance.

Bless hundreds of mortals with ongoing effects: DC: 9 +4 Flames

Divine Spark: Simply put, Lysei is giving mortals creation powers. By default, they can create non-sentient, mostly obedient simple life forms, including golems, bug swarms or whatever suits them at the time. However, with technology research, or Lysei releasing Codigens (which are blueprints for these organisms), sentient life can be achieved, with all of the obvious consequences involved. This is much broader in application, but less on-demand than a simple summoning ritual, thus most of these spells must be prepared in advance, typically requiring anywhere between a few hours, to months depending on the complexity of the organism.

The following nations are afflicted in these ways:

Ray Das: About 10 deserters from combat have been gifted this power. They do not know one another and are isolated, they may or may not escape into the world. I can only imagine that the Ray Das treat combat deserters the same way most countries do, harshly.

Krakari: Three of Khyber Kraai's top men/women have been given this power, along with the knowledge of how to use it. That said, several people being hunted by the Oscens, as well as multiple political prisoners, and some who have been wrongly penalized have been granted this power. Because the government itself has this power, the Krakari are capable of doing research into the power from the onset, without having to capture the users. The Krakari with this power number about 100.

Aurora: Mistress Nelind has this power, along with countless slaves, a few of them within her own boarders. Nobody within Kaius' officials has this power. Nelind is being secretive about the power, but if the government wishes to invest in the power, they may have to either capture, or free a few slaves with it. The slaves may or may not attempt to escape using their powers, it's up to them. 149 slaves have the power, Mistress Nelind also has it.

Sammah: 20 scholars have discovered the power within themselves, the Sammah have immediate researching ability. However, five people who have either resisted or ignored the authority of the Grand Vazin have been granted this power in a very potent form. Their abilities are especially remarkable, they are bound to attempt to fight for their lives and are likely to band together. They may seek refuge elsewhere. (25 total users)

The Luug: Fifteen individuals who have been wrongfully imprisoned, either by accident or corruption have been granted this power, they will likely attempt escape. (Fifteen total memebers)

This adds up to a total of 300 users of this school of magic. Use it wisely.

The diplomatic party was welcomed by one of the Vazin's stewards. However they were asked to remain in the foyer for a time.

"I'm sorry," He said, "My lordship is currently settling matter of the new university. I believe you arrived before it grew yes? No doubt you understand the surprise of the thing."

After half an hour or so the group was lead into the inner chamber; hundreds of cushions placed around a single chair on which sat the Vazin. The old man spoke.

"Welcome friends, please take a seat. If you wish for some refreshments simple ask of my servants, if not let us get down to the matter at hand. What is it you seek from me?"

"Firstly, we seek to reaffirm our friendship of course." The Krakari spoke with a calm demeanor. "Our nation has been rather busy ourselves recently and we simply wish to continue our agreement with our trade treaty. We have sent a second diplomat to Aurora as well." The Krakari bowed to the old man before continuing.

"Secondly, we have heard that you have another agreement with the nation of Ray-Das. Is that correct?" The Krakari asked politely.

A weary smile came to the Vazin's face.

"Indeed we do, an agreement to aid the advancement of their people. As an act of good will we gave them a small force of our troop, who we have asked to take no part in the recent raids on your lands."

"I would hope so." The Krakari said, crossing his arms. "Tensions between my nation and theirs grows thinner by the day which mean conflict may well follow. I do not know when the attack will come but it will be soon and I fear for your soldiers' well beings. War is a messy business so perhaps their lives might be in danger. I ask your people to recall them so that they might live with their families instead of being caught in a siege."

"I thank you for the warning. In truth the Ray-das never responded to my letter, I had planned to send another.

As a nation we prefer to remain neutral in these matters; though I have no love for the Ray-das the safety of my city is paramount and so far they have been peaceful towards us. However I sympathise with your people, I will try in earnest to sway the Ray-das from this course and if needs be proved you with materials to rebuild once they depart your land."

"Your offer is truly kind and generous." The Krakari smiled a weary smile. He had done all he could at the moment and pushing his luck would most likely lead to failure. "I ask humbly if I may stay in your city to oversee the reopening of trade between our prosperous people."

Cyth'raul, Golden Settlement → Ocean - 9/15 AP

The god was particularly was humming as the terms of the Pact were filled. However, there were other things to contend with: so much noise the naval nations had made in the passing months - perhaps it was time for them and the Pactforger to be introduced? It would be a risk but it would certainly be attention-grabbing. After all, the deity was tiring of dealing with the Luug with their stone-like stubbornness.

However, Jugaan was clearly a piece that Cyth'raul could hold dearly. Plenty of ambition in that one, but regardless, the Luug were not alone in the world. Not in the least. And so, the deity flew eastward to the ocean and scooped some water up. 'Woe betide the naval nations, or a blessing on the more terrestrial-inclined. Or nothing at all. Either way, the noise will stop - blast the buzzing about these ears of mine. Will it not stop?'

The hand tightly closed and wrung the water out of it. Hopefully, the earth would do the oppose and suck it in...

Jashiki, Sammah Ajihva-Tahna a few miles inland, 7/15 AP

Looking at the swirling energy's around the village and nodding to himself Jashiki sets his hand on it for a second before turning and moving through space off the island and onto the mainland on the shore of the inland sea. Looking out over the land and wincing at the lack of water found in this land and beyond, looking to the right at a small village on the edge of the waters he shakes his head. Turning more inland and moving to miles from the sea he stops hundreds of yards from the small city found there, staying where he is for a minute as he looks them over he turns his head as a man and a woman walk up behind him and stop in their tracks at the sight of him.

Staying still and looking at them Jashiki turns to face them, looking them up and down and taking in their appearance and manner as they look at him fearfully. Standing over them and looking down he steps closer and takes in the way they look at him, a little fearful but altogether not bad. Looking into their minds he slowly looked through the memory's of family and friends, smiling at them thinly so not to show them his teeth he turns and vanishes. Staying invisible and walking into the city he stays above their heads and watch's life. Dropping into an alley and conjuring a deep hooded cloak he wraps himself in it and steps out into the busy street, walking along and flowing through the crowd. Getting close to the city center and pausing there Jashiki looks at the sprawling people and bustle of this desert city. Standing in the shadow of one of the larger city buildings and closing his eyes he decides he needs followers in this land of no water. Feeling the diminishing in his strength from when he tried to do it before Jashiki narrows his eyes and realizes he will be unable to do it on as large a scale as he had before. Taking a deep breath and letting it out slowly for half a second ice crystals play in front of his mouth, then 50 of them melt into water droplets and hang in the air. Looking at then and biting his own lip one drop of blood beads out and spreads between the 50 drops, turning them a deep light blue. Blowing on them they fly out and spread across the city, many of them hitting young adults a few gravitate towards older people. Closing his eyes and reaching out to everyone who got touched by the drops, Speaking low and letting it only hit those in this city who have been touched by him. unknowing to him this including half a dozen others in the city who brushed up against him when he was walking.
"My name is Jashiki, and i am the god of water. You will find blue raindrops on your skin, these are proof that you have been given a gift from me. This gift is the ability to move water as you wish, to a point. You all will only be able to do one thing a few times a day unless you head to my island, Oileán Uisce. Some of you will wish to go there to learn, and i welcome you to. But unlike many who have been given these powers i wish for you all to do something else, come back and teach this nation about me. Yes, it is a land with little of my element. But that should make the people here more likely to listen and understand. You all have lived here all your lives, so i know you will wish to tell others about me."

Standing there watching the bustle of the city he stays still as he waits to see what these people given the new powers will do.

Emperor Kaius III - Nova Verde, Isle of Maia

"You need not worry about anything your Imperial Majesty, everything will be under control," Octavius said smoothly, a smug grin on his face.

"Thank you," Kaius intoned whilst struggling to keep his composture, this hadn't been what he had intended to happen. He had been hoping to leave his advisor and old tutor Tenus in charge of the court whilst he was away, but the elderly man had come down with an illness and was bed-ridden. Some mutterings and nods later, it became clear that the nobles would only accept High Prince Octavius as steward whilst the young Emperor was in Ajivha and so reluctantly he had given over the keys.

"Good-bye," the Emperor said and waited for Maximus to wish his uncle farewell before helping his younger brother aboard the Imperial Coach. He thought it was time for the boy to experience somewhere outside of Aurora, and also he didn't quite trust leaving him alone in the viper's nest that was the court, the rumours and discord had only increased since the last attempt at colonising the southern lands had failed and he had a feeling they would bubble up sooner or later. Still, perhaps his latest plan would bear fruit.

General Omar - Off the coast of Oileán Uisce

The armed fleet had been travelling for over a week and just now was reaching the new land the Aurorans had scouted earlier that year. It's mountains rose high above the gentle waves, the sailors were in awe of the mythical island that supposedly granted magical powers. General Omar turned to the young man standing next to him.

"Remind me again of where we can go?" the grizzled general asked.

"Everyone can step on the island, but only us water benders can enter the village. For now I would recommend only taking the land outside and then we can negotiate from a position of strength."

"Smart lad, you'll get far in this job," Omar grinned and shouted the next order. "Prepare yourself men, we're about to make a landing!" The ships in the fleet split from each other and began to dock at various parts of the island, soldiers marching out carrying swords, spears and tridents. A few catapults were wheeled off behind them and dolphin and whale-riders encircled the island, watching the backs of their fellow men.

Major - Invade Oilean Uisce with the assistance of Auroran water benders and establish military presence on all land there outside of the village. No conflict with villagers will be initiated unless in self-defence.
Minor - Emperor travels to Ajivha's new settlement

Highcrag-Den of Haakan

"I am Gangari. I wish to offer you and your people the opportunity to learn. I have constructed a University to the West of Grand Ajivha on the east side of Ekaki. It is a place of Enlightenment and welcome to all who wish to learn."

The words of Gangari had little effect on the Luug of the Deep Tribes. Jugaan's conversion was still running its course, and the rest either held true to Therax or didn't care about the spiritual side of life enough to care. The distance between the mountains of the Tribes and the lands of Grand Ajivha also served as a dissuading factor in many Luug's decision not to act.

However, there was one Luug in power who thought different. The Chieftain of the Silver Tribe, Haakan, had been trying for decades to claw his Tribe back up to a place of respect, a place taken from them by the Gold Tribe when the first veins of that cursed metal were mined. Silver's relative abundance and lack of usefulness beyond coinage doomed Haakan's Tribe, and the Chieftain had been searching for a means of restoring his power.

Making deals with this "Cyth'raul" was out, his contribution would be little compared to Jugaan's. But with another god, perhaps Haakan's Tribe could be seen as useful? Haakan decided it was with the journey, even if all he could get from this "University" is some knowledge worth learning.

So, gathering a small group of supporters, but not enough to be missed, Haakan set out to see if he could meet this new god, face-to-face.

Qartoq, Ray Das, 6/12 AP

Well, this is fascinating, death thought to herself, riding on the back of one of her beetles and sipping on a glass of wine. She had created life, that was completely and utterly harmless. It was strange to her, who had such a destructive power, and at first she'd thought they were useless too, but out of curiosity she'd gathered up a number of the beetles and brought them back to her manor. She wanted to keep them, for future use and study.

They had failed their original goal and purpose though, so she had to try more drastic measures to prove to her worshippers that she was listening to them. She'd come up with a new idea to cause death and suffering, but it was also an idea that might stop a war from causing too much damage to her side. She hoped.

Qartoq flew off of the beetle with her smaller fairylike wings. She'd still assumed an avatar that was invisible when she'd left her manor again, but given herself wings that seemed more fit for her size, like those on bugs.

She flew quickly across the landscapes, enjoying her new wings, until she reached an area with mortals and buildings. She searched out the warriors and fighters of the Ray Das, then unleashed her powers on their best, their elite, and then whoever was left in turn after that, targeting their minds and giving them visions of wildfire meant to drive them insane. She retreated once again after using her powers, not waiting around for the result, but wishing it worked as intended this time around.

Gangari

The Ajivhams had always been skilled craftsmen, and devoted their full attention to the new art that Gangari taught them. The power of the runes soon lay in their hands, not with the same intensity as it did with the demiurge, but even so it was a strange and unearthly force. What purposes it might be wielded towards remained to be seen, though some said that such a power could change the world one day.

_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Lysei

Tiny sparks of flame drifted away from the god, carried on the wind, and found their way to the hearts of his chosen. It took root quickly, and those blessed found they could give a spark of life to things that had none, though the art was unrefined and unstudied it had great potential, both for good or ill. One could only hope that those who received it used their gift for the good of the people, rather than for more destructive purposes.

_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Cyth'raul

The earth engorged itself with water, and across the world the seas seemed to shrink back, mere inches in most places but in others the effect was far more dramatic, and far more disruptive. The true effects of such a change remained to be seen, even a small decrease in the sea's level brought about stark changes to its ecosystem, and in some places new land might be made habitable by the change. Currents shifted to accommodate the new ocean's structure, though such alterations were slow the charts of sailors the world over had to be readjusted. Still the deed was done, even if it was perhaps not as massive a shift as the deity might have hoped, but then its true impact might not become fully apparent until later.

(I'll add a few tiles to the map to account for the lowered sea level, and consider what other impacts it might have on the world)

_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Jashiki

Jashiki's blessing settled as it had before, his strength was diminished but his skill was not and the new benders held the same talent as the originals. Whether they would heed his advice would remain to be seen, but for now the blessing had taken root, and no doubt they would begin to explore its potential soon enough.

_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Qartoq

The minds of mortals were strange things indeed, free will was one thing a god could not bend and it seemed even breaking their sanity was a difficult task. Those the goddess targeted suffered miserable dreams, death and decay enveloped their minds nightly, but they were warriors, well trained and strong willed. The atmosphere in the Ray-Das barracks was gloomy, many said that what they saw was a vision of the future, or perhaps a warning should they attack again, the memory of the flaming curse that had claimed Ber-sam was still fresh in their minds after all, but they did not break. Qartoq's curse would likely linger with them to the end of their days, but it was a shadow of what it had been intended to be.

_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Deep Tribes

The maggot queen proved hesitant to leave the mountains, and the Luug settlers alongside it were unused to the idea of working alongside such a beast. Some even debated that using the monster was a blasphemy to Therax, refusing to cooperate with it, and in the end the expedition returned to the mountains once more in failure.

Better fortunes were had with the moss tribes discoveries being spread throughout the land, many said that with the improvements the spring harvest would be greater than it ever had been. Improving on their methods of study though eluded the Luug, and Keplar found himself frustrated with a lack of inspiration.

_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Sammah Ajivha-Tahna

The new adjustments to the walls were well received, and the trade began to flow once more between Sammah Ajivha Tahna and the Raptor States, but in the eyes of the people both pieces of news paled in comparison to the opening of the new university. Jobs, careers, and discoveries would be won and lost in the coming months all centered around the grand new house of learning. Even scholars of other nations seemed to be welcomed with open arms, proving the universities potential as a house of both learning and cooperation.

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Raptor States

The scholars of the Krakari were among the first foreign scholars to make their way into the university, and they found it a grand and welcoming place. The idea of sharing their ideas so openly upset a number of them, but with luck they would grow accustomed to it.

Raptor state scouting parties patrolled along the coasts of the nation of Ray-Das, flying high to stay out of bow range where they could. The nation would be difficult to war against if they chose to do so, but from their reports plans could be made.

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Aurora

The military party was thrown off course by strange shiftings in the currents and waves of the sea, and when they reached land were in no state to embark on their planned invasion. Sailors across the nation reported similar disturbances, some even claimed that the sea itself seemed lessened. A few attributed this to what detractors had begun to term 'the Lysei heresy' though they were few and far between now, the people of Aurora knew the sea could be a fickle mistress after all, and it was hard to say whether gods were responsible for the strange shift.

Ray-Das

Wolf-keal received another report, this time from the mines, a Krakari had been spotted attempting to tamper with the carts though fortunately was driven off before they could cause any harm. Still the culprit remained at large, and some in Wolf-Keal's circle began muttering that action should be taken before the agent succeed at causing some harm.

Lot-Vos, the Walls of Fer-Ber Tower

"People of Lot-Vos! Watch as the walls rise to meet the tower! The builders and planners have been working, just as our latest Elite have been training, to bring Lot-Vos from the ground that it was born on, to the sky were it belongs!"

Wolf-Keal stood high, as cheers echoed among the new walls, builders hung from scaffolding and architects shouted them into order. The newly trained Elite, a variety of the toughest the Ray-Das had to offer, stood proud and tall. Two companies, both drilled and ready for combat. Below in the crowd, though the citizens took no notice, many more soldiers had been stationed around more than usual.

"Now, as the walls shield us from new threats, we must remember those who have passed. Ber-Sam, in her glorious raid, took wealth from a nation of brittle boned feathers, and in return received the wrath of the gods. Our god, Jas-Hiki, stood proud and tall alongside her, ready to defend and protect our glorious leader. But, upon reaching a term of agreement, where by we scale back the attacks on the pitiful bird people, their god betray us and stabbed our Queen in the back. It seems those people and their god have much alike!

Recently, a few of our men suffered visions of hell-fire, moments they say were like bursts of flame through their bleeding eyes. They saw what our Queen saw, a traitorous god who chose to kill her with flying flame than face her in combat. They felt her in her last moments, and were they shaken? No! Were they distraught? No! They stood up, and they trained harder than any company this glorious nation has ever seen! They refuted the pitiful suggestion of fear and worry, and instead honoured their Queen by turning into some of the most hardened soldiers you will ever lay your eyes on!"

At this, the two companies marched forwards to the edge of the wall, boots just clinging onto the edge as they turned and roared, shouted and cried as one. The battle cry was echoed by the populace, though the wall made the company of few seem louder than even a god.

"Lastly, however, we have had a more natural threat. One of the birdmen decided he would try and sneak into our beautiful cities and towns, to hide and stick to the shadows. Were they a more open person, they may have learnt that we respect efficiency! They managed to sneak into our borders, and that is proof enough they are at the very least good at their job. However, following two failed attempts at any sort of trickery and sabotage, we begin to realise that these bird people may just be all talk.

Spy! I know you are listening! If you are within the city, the crowd or the forest, this is your chance. Reveal yourself, and we shall let you leave, alive. We honour our word, unlike certain nations. If you step up now, you may fly free. Otherwise, leave your own way, but we do not want to see a third failed attempt. The Ray-Das respect efficiency, and so far you are starting to lose that respect. (As a note, if I managed to catch the spy as my action, he/she will be dragged out in front of the crowd in this scene instead. I'll post a second time with the conversation between the two if they spy either reveals them self or I catch them.)

Regardless, remember this. The last time we attacked your lands, the gods couldn't stop the rain of arrows that took down our dinner, and led the way to our pay. If you chose to be a coward, at least bring that message back to your people!"

With that, Wolf-Keal leaves as the companies march with him. Some Ray-Das are a bit quiet about the spy and news of nightmares, but many cheer the new Elites, whilst the builders curse and struggle to meet their architect's demands. Later, Wolf-Keal would tell of a new celebration, of the day of Ber-Sam. Behind him, on the tower where the city used to be run from, that the walls now climbed to meet, a massive statue was built, a bear wreathed in flame, facing out into the forests and roaring to the gods.

Cawles Strix, Site of raids

The waters had receded much in their area. The villagers that lived nearby now worry visibly written in their faces as their livelihoods were endangered. Dead fish and ashes littered the area making it apparent that this was the site of the raids that started everything.

Cawles arrived her a procession of her most loyal priests along with Khyber as well. She heard things about the Krakari's headstrong attitude and short temper but any of that was dispelled when she met him in the shrine. There he described a special "mission" that only her and her chosen few were able to accomplish. Word had indeed spread of her Order's necromancy and she guessed it was only a matter of time before the elders took an interest to it.

Behind Cawles were the burned out villages and in front of her were the deserted camp grounds of Ray-Das who attacked them. Khyber had told her that another God appeared and immolated dozens of their men. Now he was here to understand why. On the way to Talis, Khyber also described the new found powers that a few of his closest men had. He ordered them to stay in the Capital and experiment with their powers until they were fully understood although she could tell it was the elders that truly ordered him to do so.

Cawles and her priests and priestess surveyed the area while Khyber waited along the receded coastline and stared down at the horizon. That was where the Ray-Das came, she heard and where he would go soon enough. She truly felt sorry for Khyber.

The chanting intensified as the priests began to resurrect the dead souls of those who were burned alive. Khyber stole a glance at them before a few figures appeared on the horizon. They flew low and fast to Khyber, kicking up dirt as they arrived. Cawles knew scouts when she saw them and it looked like these ones came straight from Ray-Das. In their hands they revealed maps and reports to Khyber who scanned them intensely. While he did so, Cawles focused on her powers. She chanted, focusing all her powers to bring back the dead for the knowledge they brought with them to the afterlife.

Jashiki, Ajivha, 7/15AP

Looking down at the city in the middle of the desert Jashiki search's for the leader of these people, but even though this is their largest city he cant sense him at all. looking into the minds of several of the higher placed people he finds he has gone to a port city in preparation for something. Turning in that direction and moving to above that city he finds the leader of the desert sitting in an orange garden reading some papers. Moving through space and landing behind the man Jashiki walks up quietly and conjurer a chair next to the man, sitting down.

"Lovely nation, if a little dry for my taste."

A moment of hesitation and the Vazin rose from his papers. When he spoke his voice was almost amused.

'Strange times when the voice of a god no longer surprises an old man.'

A quick look at the being and his tone became far more curious.

'Oh, but you are different. An interesting form, you remind me of the lizards we have further south. So, which are you? Jashiki perhaps or maybe the Pactforger, though frankly you look far to affable to be him.'

Smiling thinly to keep his teeth hidden Jashiki bends slightly and nods at the old man.
"Surprise it is indeed. I am Jashiki, god of water."

Looking down at himself and shrugging at his look. Pulling several oranges from the trees and holding them water is drawn from the ground around them and is as pure as humans can drink without dying, the outsides freezing into glass shapes one settles next to the old mans arm and he also sets an orange down also.

A genuine smile came to the Vazin's face.

'A nice trick, you're certainly able to show off more than Gangari. So you're the one who gave my people those powers, I must say I can think of more suitable places for it than the desert. What is it you came to me for?'

Pealing the orange slowly and holding the fruit in his claws he looks at the man and smiles slowly.
"Two kinds of people worship water, those with an abundance. And those lacking."

Tearing a piece of the orange off and eating it Jashiki makes a surprised noise.
"These are good, surprisingly good."

Lowering his hands to the arm of the chair he is sitting in Jashiki leans back.
"Yes i gave it to them, and it is more useful than you think. Water is deep in the earth everywhere and can be drawn out, if your strong enough. I'm here because your the leader of these people, and as i said. The people who worship water are those with to much, or to little."

'And as a god you desire worship. Interesting how one so powerful relies on something so simple.'

Following the god's lead the Vazin peeled his own orange.

'These men of yours, they are mages correct? I have in my city a University, a place of knowledge and understanding. My own mages are there as we speak, perfecting the art Gangari taught them. Your followers will be welcomed there, as will you to teach them. In turn they will be in the heart of the city, no doubt spreading word of you. I'm sure in time others will seek your blessing, as well offering prayers to you'

He placed a segment of the fruit into his mouth, just as wonderful as it always was.

'What do you say?'

"It is the same for you, you also rest of the seat that is your peoples worship. Though it is shown in a different way."

Tearing off a second piece and eating it Jashiki smiles more.
"they are your people, and while i can ask them to spread my word that will be up to them. Sending them to the university would be fine, ill send someone from my island to teach them at least the basics. As long as they swear to the islands laws they can receive its teaching. Mages... I guess you could call them that, though its not dead on. and they will be unable to teach others how they do what they do."

'And what, might I ask, are these island laws? My people are Ajivhan before they are you disciples, that is something even I can not change.'

"they boil down to two. One, protect your fellow benders. Two, protect your home. In this case home means the island. I do not require oaths of loyalty from them or anything like that. They are still your people, but in this i wish them to have a second family on my island where they can live without fear. They and their family's. I do not know if you heard, but the village where the bending is taught is protected. Only those with the water bender mark or immediate family may enter the village, anyone else trying will be burned or frozen. The more they try the worse it will be."

'I have no plans to invade innocence, it is not our way. I agree to your terms, you and your followers will have a place in our University as well as a shrine for them to use how they wish. I am sure we will both gain from this.'

The Vazin bowed his head to the god in respect.

Standing and smiling down at the Vazin Jashiki lets the water chair he had been using soak back into the earth. Setting his hand on the mans shoulder and patting it softly.

"Long relationships. I will tell my disciple on the island to send someone capable of teaching 50 novices. Please call on me in times of need, i will try my best."

Holding the Vazin's shoulder softly Jashiki says down at him.
"There is an island just outside the inland sea. If you can find your way there via ship you can set up a port-city. Any sailing nation may set one up, and it will be a totally neutral place. No fighting between nations and island security outside the city's will be handled by the bender village. It will be a place for trade and peaceful relations. You are welcome to come."

Grabbing a few oranges and turning towards the ocean Jashiki disappears.

Reappearing in the ocean several miles from any land he speaks to the the wave master on Oileán Uisce, keeping it so only he can hear him.
"Ker-Hai, chose an adept and two apprentice benders. Ones who don't have family's, they will be traveling to the university in Ajivha and be teaching 50 new brothers in the art. They will also be in charge of a shrine put there in my honor, so tell them that also. As for the rest of you people will be coming soon, more people. They will start setting up trading city's on different parts of the island. It's your job to keep the island peaceful, not the towns just the island."
