Silver-Root University, Ajivha

"It's too damned hot to do any real study!"

That was one of the final complaints uttered by Rah-Vol, one of the team of researchers, scholars and scientists headed for the University. Though at first weary, the group had been ordered by their various lieges and even a few by Wolf-Keal himself, and as such stuck to their commands. A group of soldiers equal to the scholars number moved with them, always scanning the sky and the ground for threats.

As the Ray-Das finally arrived at the grand city of the Ajivhans, they approached with great caution. To the first guard or watchmen they met, they cried a hail and asked to be led to the leader of their people, to speak of matters diplomatic and educational. The soldiers rustled their weapons a little, on edge as Rah-Vol recited the words he had been mulling over for many days before arriving at the city. There only hope was that the large ballistae on the walls did not find them too threatening...

Ker-Hai, on the other hand, stood slightly back from the group, wishing to see just how friendly these people were before entering in with his scholars and friends. Ker-Hai decided to head straight for the University, leaving the scholars to deal with diplomacy. Ker-Hai had a far more important mission - to carry out Jas-Hiki's wish.

Oileán Uisce

A hundred and four benders lead a small fleet of ships, filled with a hundred and fifty fisherman, hunters and builders. Watching over them presided a company of soldiers, just numbering in their fifties. They were all calm and relaxed as they sailed for the island, for a land created by their god would surely bring them great luck and tides. However, as they began to land on the island, they laid eyes upon a fleet of ships quiet unlike they have ever seen. Despite their histories being so inter-twined, the modern Ray-Das had not yet made proper contact with the Aurorans. Dalp-Lam decided to change this. A bender and a turner, considered one of the luckiest Ray-Das alive, she strode to the front of the lead ship, crying a hail to the closest Auroran. If unchallenged, she would anchor the ships and lead her people to land, hopefully making contact with both the Aurorans and the benders already on the island, before setting up the foundations of a small town, where the Ray-Das could land and trade or move about the island from.

For now, Dalp-Lam gritted her teeth and got ready as she became the face of the Ray-Das for these... old friends.

Gangari, Ajivha - 7/15 AP

Gangari walked through his private library under the earth reading his runes and adjusting them as needed. The Spring would be coming soon and the tree would mimic the rest of nature. This would be his first piece of creation to feel nature's pull and he wanted to make sure nothing went wrong. Inventing more advanced runic patterns and removing the ones that had malformed was long and tedious work even for a god, but it was something Gangari enjoyed. Some day perhaps he would give it a mind of its own, and teach it to repair and advance itself. But that was a long way away.

In Ajivha, gods were visiting, what they were doing was unknown to him, but he felt their presences. He was hearing news of what some were calling a Divine Spark given to scholars and news of a village of "water benders" visited by Jashiki. Gangari was interested and soon among others they came to the university, not to study runes, but to study their arts. Krakari came to join and were welcomed by the scholars inside, perhaps soon Gangari would visit their leader to speak.

Then he felt a Ray-Das approaching with a different intent than the others that had came. Ray-das were coming into the city and approaching the university to do work. But this... Ker-Hai was coming for his Jashiki.

Gangari formed himself a few feet infront of the approaching Ker-Hai and spoke to him in a cool clear voice.
"I see you wish to enter my home. I ask, for what purpose are you here?"

Ajivha

Ker-Hai suddenly stopped his brisk walk and looked up with a smile. If the sudden appearance hadn't tipped him off, the aura of this thing had tipped him off on it's true nature as a god. His elites and apprentices suddenly stopped, lightly bumping into Ker-Hai and almost raising their hands for battle, only to quickly lower them. Ker-Hai was silent for a moment before smiling wider and beginning his speech,

"Ah, you must be the god of this land, Gangari. I am Ker-Hai, Master Bender and disciple of the great and powerful Jas-Hiki, the god of the island to the east and of all benders in the lands. I am here to lead my trainees and adepts to train and teach the benders of this land inside of this University of knowledge and peace, and to create a monument to the god who blessed them with their gift.

I did not know the entire University was your home, but I do suppose some gods prefer modest livings. If I may ask, you seem to be a god of at least good nature, unlike some blind fire types, so would you have any complaint with those who seek to worship another being able to upon your lands? Jas-Hiki has many followers, and soon many Ajivhan's will come to praise him after we show their benders how to draw water for farms and animals. It is only fitting that such a generous god has a place of worship, no?"

Gangari, Ajivha - 7/15 AP

Gangari was disappointed that they wished to build a shrine to Jashiki in his home, though not surprised.
"There is a hall in the south with empty rooms for the other deities, I will allow you to use one if you agree to behave yourselves within my walls and-" he pointed to Grand Ajivha "theirs." He paused "Any trouble between the peoples of these lands are to be left outside." He paused again "Do you understand?"

Ker-Hai nodded, before looking back up at the god,

"I understand the wish of peace and safety in one's home. Jas-Hiki himself has designed his island so that it may be purely for the benders, for peace and for trade. If that is all, may we begin work immediately then? The shrine to Jas-Hiki is truly something to behold, but a task to make."

The other benders instinctively stretched and rolled their necks as they did so, one even muttering something under his breath about being exhausted, but Ker-Hai focused ahead, not wishing to falter in front of this new god.

Rah-Vol & Scholars, Ajivha

The party was greeted by one of the University's chief scholars, a round, cheerful man by the name of Vidhi Bandhula.

'Ah! I see our neighbours to the east have arrived, wonderful, wonderful! I am Vidhi, please follow me I'm sure we have much to discuss.'

Their guide and new best friend ushered them inside, as the guards move to follow he spoke with a touch more force.

'I am sorry friends, no weapons are allowed inside these halls. Only those being used by the Runemaesters. Trust me no harm will come to your masters here, this is a place of peace.'

Rah-Vol stepped forwards from his friends to greet the scholar. He started with a bow, something he had heard was popular among the taller people. He straighten up and let a sharp smile flash back at the host.

"It has been too long since the Ray-Das made an official visit to their stoic friends! I am Rah-Vol, lead scholar and current diplomat for these excursion of the Ray-Das. Now, as much as I long to get inside and begin to ply my true trade, there is diplomacy and trade, such dreadful things to attend to."

He turned to look at the soldiers as they were told to leave their weapons,

"These men are part of the deal. They should not have to leave their weapons, as they do not intend to enter the University. Whilst my friends would love to and are able to enter immediately, I would request to be directed to the one who runs this city. I believe the Vazin is that man?"

'I am afraid the Vazin is unavailable at this time. His is in Ajivha-Nau meeting with the Emperor of Aurora.'

Vidhi bowed his head in apology.

'We had not anticipated diplomatic discussion, no doubt you understand. However, the Vazin's advisor remains in the city, if you wish I can take you to him.'

"Ah, well the absent Vazin is no matter, but the things I wish to discuss are rather pressing. If you could take my guards and I to the advisor, we would be very greatful, and I think your men back in our land would be too..."

Rah-Vol let his words trail out for a moment, before motioning to his soldiers,

"All of their weapons are tied to their scabbards or unstrung, but it would be pointless to leave them here. Now, the rest of my scholars would wish to remain, and begin their studies immediately. May we head off?"

'Of course. Follow me!'

Vidhi left the scholars to explore the university and lead the party to the palace. Despite the Vazin's absense it was still highly guarded, as fitting the centre of the Ajivhan world.

After a short while the diplomat stood in the Vazin's hall, for once the single chair was empty Visor Sarpa Dhurta sat on the cushioned floor.

'You must be the party from the Ray-das. I'm sorry that the Vazin is unable to meet you, I will help any way I can. Please, take a seat.'

Rah-Vol sat himself down on one of the cushions, shuffling for a moment - feeling slightly awkward. The other soldiers looked confused at what to do, so instead decided to sit, but away from the diplomats. They nervously glanced to one another, but Rah-Vol paid them no heed as he began,

"Thank you for receiving us, as even though the Vazin is absent, there is a matter of great importance. First, maybe we should start with some good news. Your men sent to our city of Lot-Vos are healthy and working, just recently leading our architects on turning Lot-Vos into a massive citadel. Truly inspiring to watch them work. Meanwhile, our researchers back home discovered a rather amazing method to reap more materials than ever from our mines, and our military recently drilled and tested some besieging techniques.

Now, on our way but notice the massive ballistae you have mounted on your walls. We have seen them before, in few numbers, but never have we been able to properly create our own. Considering some of the bad news I must inform you of, we may have great need of them. If you could show us how to produce these weapons and defences, we would be happy to provide you with the knowledge of our system known as "mine carts" or even have our soldiers drill your men in defensive or offensive besieging or combat tactics.

Regardless, these soldiers with me are here in exchange of your men in our city. A few of them are turners, but all of them are trained and willing to guard or assist where-ever they would be needed.

Moving onto the bad news, however, an agent of the Raptor States has been spotted twice in my lands, attempting to cause directed harm and suffering to civilians and even your people. The first time the pitiful birdman struck, it poisoned some food meant for the nobles and leaders. I hope you know, as guests and respected friends of the Ray-Das, your people eat and live with the same tier as Wolf-Keal and other leaders of the Ray-Das. They could have eaten the food intended for our King, and died a horrible, painful death. Luckily, our keen-eyed chef spotted the bastard before he could get away with it.

After that, the agent tried to sabotage or attack our new system of mine carts, hoping to cause damage, sabotage and even kill the civilian miners. They were simply working when he struck, and only the bravery of the miners and their friends drove him away. They even managed to stop him from sabotaging the system.

I'm afraid he will strike again, though Wolf-Keal is actively searching and calling the spy out. We do not wish for any Ajivhans to become hurt or sick due to the actions of the back-stabbing birdpeople, and as such our attention has been dedicated to defending and protecting our people.

So, what say you? If you could show us the ballista plans, we may be able to hold off against even the trained and elite of these foul creatures who seek to not fight an honourable battle but sacrifice civilian lives to get their prize."

'While we are grateful for your concerns I doubt a ballista would be much help when it comes to spy hunting.'

Sarpa indicated to one of the servants who proceeded to bring over a small cup.

'Forgive me, I suffer from migraines. This elixir helps'

He took a sip

'It's also rather pleasant to drink. I'm afraid I must refuse your request for the ballista plans, as I would if any asked for them. We have them and use them for protection most other nations would use them in battle. Something we don't particularity wish to encourage.'

He placed the cup at his side.

'A counter offer. We recently developed reinforcements for our walls, in truth I'm not sure of the specifics. We would be happy to offer this as a trade for your mining techniques. As for the Krakaris and their poisons; our men are strong and hardy, one must be to last in our climate. I have no fear they will be safe from poison.'

Rah-Vol scratched his chin while the advisor sipped from the cup and posed his counter-offer.

"I understand, but you do understand why I asked for the ballista instead of walls, no? The bastards can fly, and I had a feeling if our bows can take them down, a ballista could end them. Regardless, I would agree to this. Our scholars back home are currently looking into a method know of "oil dropping" or something of the like, another defensive trick with which to scorch any attackers at your walls.

They have not actually worked out how to get it to work properly yet, and as such I can't exactly show you how it works yet. I would be happy to have our walls reinforced in exchange for our minecarts. I know one of the soldiers here, Las-Dan, is a miner himself, before becoming a soldier due to his rather... tough life."

A soldier covered in scars and burns stepped forward, letting an awkward bow out and looking at the advisor,

"I've been instructed to teach you or your miners in the operation and use of the minecarts. I know a... fair bit about them."

He sat back down, scratching at a knotted scar on his cheek.

"So, I do not believe I have much more to offer, apart from three small things:
First, when we do figure out this new use for oil, we would be happy to exchange it and anything else you would want for ballistae. Wolf-Keal is rather interested in getting his paws on the plans for them, and would pay well to do so.
Second, the Aurorans to the north have recently landed on Jas-Hiki's island with a force to fear. Military fleet, dolphin riders and even whales! A detachment sent there sent back a turner in the form of an eagle, but apparently the Aurorans and Ray-Das have just made contact.
Thirdly, the bird people of the blasted Raptor States are clearly up to something. Our archers spotted scouts the other week, circling and watching our lands. Simply a warning.

If there is nothing else, I believe we have an agreement?"

Rah-Vol shuffled forward and held out his hand, hoping he was correct in the tradition.

Sarpa extended his own in return

'I see no reason why we would not. As for what you offer in the future that is not my place to discuss, I am simply a stand in.'

The two shook and Sarpa concluded with the traditional words.

'Kevlam Nasta Ajivha-Tahna. Well now that is behind us would you care for a drink?'

Rah-Vol shook Sarpa's hand and finished with his own tradition,

"Glory to the fleet that sees us safe!"

The saying was echoed by the soldiers, though in a room voice rather than the usual shouting cry. Rah-Vol relaxed, glad that he had successfully gone through with the trade. Maybe not all of us are that bad at this diplomacy job..?

"I think I'll take you up on that drink! I've heard your goods are some of the best in the world."

Hall of Raptors

In the hall a new atmosphere was afoot. A potentially ground-breaking discovery among Khyber Kraai's circle was found that could possibly change everything. In their hands lay the most potent power of them all. If done correctly, it held the appealing thing to the Krakaris: power. The call was simultaneous to delve deeper in order to find out more about it while it brought up the growing power of magic in this world. It becoming ever more apparent in their society that magic was no longer something for petty tricks. The Order of Qartoq implanted the notion but this new power helped cement itself in their society. Word had even spread of water benders from sea so the Krakaris had no qualms of ordering a priest to be sent to the University. It would work to their Goddess' advantage as well because the priest would also spread word of her so her power would grow to help them even more.

"Priestess Solaire will do her family proud." Jaherys said after agreeing with the proposition set out by Aerya. Aerya had been incredibly busy these last few days but not as busy as Farko who had been hard at work in collecting information about Ray-Das. If an opportunity did present to attack or if another slight was put forth then they would need to react. "She will spread the word of Qartoq among the scholars there and display her powers."

"We all pray for her safety. The university is attracting attention from all around the world even the halfling folk." Said Gora. He had been busy as well, Aerya noted. His soldiers and men had been out constantly these last few days rounding up certain individuals. For what, she couldn't tell or afford to inquire about. Gora's spy had attracted too much attention to them in what they were doing. Aerya knew those spies wouldn't be called back anytime soon. She knew Gora would have those Krakari do their duty or die trying.

"We will deal with them soon enough." Farko said, itching for a chance to fight like the old soldier he was. That was what he was always good at and something that he didn't abandon even at his age. "We also need to keep our friends close. We should contact the Luug and convince them to help us." Farko grinned at the idea.

"And offer them what? Seasickness and arrows?" Gora asked. "Well the sea levels did sink, I must admit, but this is not their war."

"And who spoke of war?" Aerya asked Gora. "We are not a war, not yet. While the snow falls, we cannot have war."

"I can also look out a window, thank you very much." Gora snapped. "Then while we wait for the snow to thaw shall I continue to pursue what we've been so good at for so long."

"If it is so good then why has your agent failed to yield results?" Farko questioned. "Is he good at subterfuge or running away?"

"I like to think both," Gora joked. "But while waste a thousand swords when you can only raise one. This takes time as does invasions, don't you think?"

Gangari, Ajivha - 7/15 AP

Gangari looked at the Ray-das infront of him and took a moment to think before responding.

"These halls will remain open to you as long as you maintain a peaceful intent."

He reached out and touched Ker-Hai's head, taking a moment to imprint directions to the room he had designated for the Ray-das shrine into Ker-Hai's mind as well as the intent behind it. When he was done he faded into thin air infront of them before rematerializing himself on the peak of Ekaki. Sitting and thinking, staring at the forests he had called home many years ago, waiting for the other guests he felt coming to arrive.

Qartoq, Raptor States

She'd not gotten the intended results this time either, but they'd pinned it on a scapegoat while she'd remained in the shadows for the best. Qartoq had retreated to the capital of the Krakaris for now, having wasted enough time on trying to fight the mortals' battles for them. She'd decided to return to teaching them what she knew about death and how to inflict it. If they wanted to wage war, she could provide them with the means, the technology and the minions to do so.

Qartoq landed on a cliffside in her miniature fairy form, and then ventured into one of the holes of the cliff, curious as to what kind of animals might live in the area. She came face to face with some form of reptilian lizard before long. It hissed at her, and she hissed back at it. Qartoq put her hand against its head and intended to change this race forever, but hopefully for the best of both mortals.

She aimed to change their skin color to the blackest black and made them difficult, if not impossible, to spot in the night or darkness. Their eyes would be white and lifeless. On their backs strong wings appeared to make them able to fly. These wyverns would be smaller than the Krakaris and other mortals, but their size would serve them well as they'd be harder to shoot down. They'd be instilled with a fierce loyalty to their masters and be well suited for war, but also as pets. Their main weapon would be their ability to spit an acid that could eat through bone and metal. The faster they were able to spit it out, the faster it would in turn be able to eat through something before coming to a halt, and slowly deteriorating the material instead. As such, they'd be fearful dive bombers at great speeds.

All of this, Qartoq wished for them and then she sat down next to the lizard who'd calmed down, leaning her face against it and gazing out above the capital city where she hoped she'd soon see hundreds of them, willing to serve as pets for the race who shared their only habitat. A second, smaller army.

Ker-Hai smiled, bowing slightly. As the god touched his head, he flinched but stopped as he realised it was only information that was being passed. His benders followed him to the room and began to set up. They spread out, circling the centre of the room and began to bend.

Water rushed in from fountains, from the air and from the ground. An unfortunate scholar had his drinking water whisked away as all of it coalesced into a large ball in Jas-Hiki's room. The shaping began, and slowly legs formed, then a body and finally Jas-Hiki appeared in his full form, curving water around his body which ends up in his outstretched left hand, where a water droplet sat in a circle of water. After half an hour of working, the water began to freeze and solidify. A few moments later the ice statue stood tall, a testament to Jas-Hiki.

It would melt so slow, that as long as a single bender attended to the statue during his prayer once a week, it would not melt away into nothingness. Ker-Hai and the other benders dropped to the ground, exhausted by the task.

Later that day, after having his benders settle in, Ker-Hai left the city and headed back for the island. He knew his benders would be able to teach any novices at the University as much as they knew themselves, but thankfully Ker-Hai didn't have to stay in that water-less place. He preferred it on the island, especially as the master bender. Ker-Hai relaxed as his horse carried him home, exhausted from the task of building the shrine.

Oileán Uisce

The Auroran sailor put his hand to his dark forehead and studied the Ray-Das with a curious gaze as she approached him.

"Who be you, young lady?" he asked in broken Common, "You don't look like no Auroran I've ever seen. You one of the little folk from down south?"

Dalp-Lam looked surprised for a moment, before letting a large smile spread across her face.

"Ha! It's been too long since I heard the voice of someone who wasn't a stuck-up noble! All the bloody desert people to the west speak like that, it's good to see some proper sea-farers in this world!

I am Dalp-Lam, a bender and a turner of the Ray-Das. Yes, the little ones down south. I don't care much for the jokes, but I know a soldier that'll tear your throat out for just mentioning short to him. Haha, that bugger is gonna get himself killed one day.

So, who're you then?"

"I be Sam, of the Isle of Samosa, first mate of this ship. You want to talk to our general, young miss, he's over yonder. Omar be his name."

The sailor gestured over to the next ship, where a moustached man in a long coat stood at the stern watching the approaching Ray-Das silently.

"Aye, I see him. He a nice fella?"

Dalp-Lam eyed the other ship, and began to head over there, [if the ship is beached or somehow landed, she walks, otherwise she turns into a dolphin and swims over], waving a quick goodbye to the sailor.

She couldn't help but be excited to talk to a proper general. Being a fisherwoman, she didn't exactly get to interact with them too much. Maybe we should be closer to these proper people, sailor types. Bloody nobles to the west don't need our money or our technology.

As she approached the general, she paused for a moment, then decided to try a salute.

"Hail General Omar, I am Dalp-Lam of the Ray-Das"

Please don't tell me I fucked it please, don't, don't.

"Greetings," General Omar replied with an exasperated sigh, "You here to take the island too? We were ordered to secure the whole place but after that terrible storm, we barely even made it here. Never in all my years of sailing have I encountered waves like those, felt like the whole sea was being drunk from by the gods."

Dalp-Lam paused for a moment, confused.

"Take the island? You mean by force?"
She paused for a moment, contemplating.
"Well, I can guess that might be why you had such a rough ride. Anyway, have a look at this," Dalp-Lam lifted her hand, "Is the mark of Jas-Hiki. I'm a water bender, those blessed by Jas-Hiki with the ability to move and control water, ice and so on. He is the one who owns this island, and inland is a town full of benders, surrounded by some kind of weird wall that only benders and their families can pass.

However, some bastard of a god recently drained the water in the ocean, revealing new land near our borders. Whoever did it did so without even a purpose, it seems. It wasn't Jas-Hiki, thankfully enough. We shipped off after the draining happened, though.

You may want to be careful, though, as I'm not sure Jas-Hiki would take kindly to you taking this island by force. He'd be happy enough to simply invite you on, I think. Regardless, until he shows or you attack, my sailors and I will stay out of your way. If you wish, I could tell the sailors to listen to you, as if you are currently holding the island, we probably aren't going to try and set up shop until that's over with."

Dalp-Lam looked at the island, her eyes trying to spot the village within - and potentially Jas-Hiki.

Omar shrugged, "We're not exactly in a fit state to be fighting anyone, I'm happy for a truce right now if you are. We're holding onto this third of the island for the time being, I can't promise what'll happen when we receive our next orders from the Nova Verde though."

He waved his hand in resignation, "No hard feelings if we end up at war later, eh?"

"Ha, I wouldn't be too worried. I'm not a trained fighter, at least with a weapon. Pretty sure some of my new tricks could cause some damage, but I'd rather use them to sail my own ship. Fishing, or maybe a touch of piracy. I'd like to see a ship flee when it's suddenly stuck in a block of ice. Ahem, anyway...

On behalf of the Ray-Das - or something, I agree to a truce? I'm not exactly sure how these things normally go down - and I'm not sure our trained talkers do either! But still, why would the two great sailors fight? Why not steal a bit of the crap those birds or stone-men make?"

Dalp-Lam grinned, spinning a bracelet on her arm, marked with the forgery of the Raptor States.

"Nothing official like," General Omar replied, "I've got to do what I'm ordered to do, but unless I have to, there's no reason for us to fight each other. You Ray-Das want to come for drinks at our camp later?"

He leaned forward to speak in a lower voice.

"If you only bring the womenfolk along, there'll be more drink for us all." He winked. "You'll only find us men on Auroran ships,"

Dalp-Lam leaned in and smiled, bearing her teeth, "Dunno how you can put up with nothin' but men for an entire trip, but I think me and the ladies might enjoy a bit of a drink," she leaned back, glancing at her own ships with a grin, "I'm pretty sure the men have some kind of sailing that should take until say - tomorrow morning. I do wonder how an Auroran brew tastes?"

"You'll have to wait to find out," the General laughed and raised his hat, "I look forward to seeing you this evening, we have some encampments to set-up."

Jashiki, Oileán Uisce,7/15 AP

After leaving the vazir Jashiki goes back to his own island, stopping very quickly when he gets above it and sees several Aurora ships along with a few Ray-Das ships. No one seeming to be fighting only one of the Ray-Das having gone to the Aurora, hopefully to talk.

Watching them for a few seconds he sees the Ray-Das talking to a very well dresses Aurora. Looking down at them he catch's sight of his mark on the Ray-Das person. Listening in he catch's a few of the high points, including Dalp-Lam talking about him and apparently looking for him. As they start to end the conversation he drops to the beach a hundred yards from the talking sailor's.

Staring at them Jashiki coughs softly, it making the sand blow away 10 feet around him and a sharp wind rocketing out over a mile in every direction. Keeping his eyes on Dalp-Lam and Omar.

Emperor Kaius III and Vazin Andha, Ajivha-Nau

The Emperor was still privately fuming as he approached Ajivha-Nau. It was nothing to do with the Vazin he was expecting to meet, the citadel sitting atop of a huge cliff or even the friendly olive-skinned guards who hailed the fleet as they sailed into the city's port. Rather, he was still digesting the news of the slave escapes that had reached the palace the day before he left. What really bothered him was not the break-outs themselves, but the supposed magical powers the escapees had used. There was only one being he knew of who possessed the ability to do that, one who had promised to protect Aurora.

"Undermining the order of my society... again," Kaius muttered darkly to himself, "Who's side are you on, Lysei?"

He straightened himself up and banished these thoughts to his subconscious as he entered a pleasant orange garden in the centre of the citadel, ready to finally meet the Vazin in person. Besides the Emperor walked young Prince Maximus, staring in wonder at the foreign scene around him.

The Vazin raised his head as he saw the pair enter, looking up from the reports he'd been given. Apparently some deal had been made in Ajivha-Tahna, he trusted Sarpa had managed things fairly. The Vazin smiled as the two drew near, with a wink to the Emperor and began by addressing the young prince.

'And you must be the Emperor. Your nation is famed for its young rulers but this is a bit far. I must say your last letter about the economical viability of eucalyptus trees in the northwest territory was quite a read.'

"Hehe," Maximus giggled, "I'm not really the Emperor, that's Kaius. And you have to call him 'Your Imperial Majesty' or he'll have your head cut off!"

"Shh, why would you say that to the nice Vazin, Max?" the Emperor nudged his brother whilst grinning and then sat down. "It is a pleasure to finally meet you, Vazin Andha, forgive me for asking is that the correct term of address?"

'It will suffice. I believe my full title is something along the lines of Great Vazin Prajja Tu Andha; Architect of the City, Guardian of Her Gates, Light in the Desert, Roof of the People. It sounds better in High Ajivhan but even then few use it. Assuming I keep my head may I refer to you as Emperor Kaius?'

"Certainly," the Emperor replied, "So, what is the matter which you wish to discuss with us today?"

'Forgive me for asking but I assume the men you sent informed you of our plans? Too long I have been speaking to diplomats, sometimes I would who I'm making the deals with.'

A sad smile came to the Vazin. Without waiting for an answer he continued.

'Look around you. My Citadel is built, my fleet double what it was. I am ready. With an order I can seal off my region of sea and I'm sure you can too, we would have complete control of the passage to the continent.

Be warned, what we do will almost certainly draw the ire of the other nations, rightly so. No doubt they will have choice words for us, particularly the Ray-das.'

With this he leaned forward, looking the young Emperor eye to eye. The kindly grandpa was gone, before him sat the leader of a nation.

'Know that what I am doing is not out of greed but for the sake of peace, controlling this strait will limit the movement of all nations hopeful causing them to think twice about invasion. Sometimes a stern hand is needed to maintain order. No doubt your goals are different but I see no reason why our motives cannot align.'

"Indeed, they will," the Emperor replied, returning the elderly Vazin's stern gaze, "We will allow passage of others through our strait... for a price, of course. Military fleets other than ours will be restricted and monitored. The other nations will grumble but ultimately none have the strength to take on both of us at once, nor the diplomacy to ally with each other. Peace for the world, and profit for us, will be ensured."

He offered his hand to the Vazin.

"Do you agree with these details I have proposed? All profit from the strait would be split fifty-fifty between Aurora and Ajivha, of course."

The Vazin returned the gesture and shook the young mans hand.

'Kevlam Nasta Ajivha-Tahna. I shall send the order out immediately.'

"Perfect," Kaius smiled, "As will I, as soon as I reach landfall back in Aurora. Now, let us talk about some lighter subjects, I believe Maximus is curious about how you built these high walls..."

.

High Prince Octavius, Nova Verde, Isle of Maia

"How is the catch going, sergeant?" Octavius asked cautiously. He couldn't believe a magical breakout had occurred just before the Emperor had presented stewardship on him, wasting his precious time when he'd rather be dealing with the minutiae of the political deal he had planned for when his nephews returned rather than organising a hunt.

"Moderately well, your Majesty," the man replied humbly, looking down at his feet. "Approximately half of the escapees are in our custody so far, we've lost some fine men out there though,"

"Damn," Octavius muttered to himself, "Get out there and find the rest. If they put your men's lives in danger, put them to the sword, it's not worth the risk bringing those types back to the city dungeons. The others though, they could be useful for us, so be careful not to rough them up too much,"

"Of course, your Majesty," the soldier bowed and then walked quickly out of the room. The prince sighed and got back to the manuscript he was working on.

.

General Omar, Oileán Uisce

"What in the Father's name is that?"

Omar pointed to the spiralling sand a hundred feet away from himself and Dalp-Lam as a gust of wind suddenly shook the ships moored nearby.

"Do you usually get winds like that down here or is that something more... magical?" he inquired.

Sorry, i forgot i had something i had planned on doing. Im changing this post. The post below is what i meant to post before.

Jashiki, Ajivha, 6/15AP

The Emperor sat at his desk in his cabin, trying to write as the ship gently rolled over the waves of the Great Channel. The meeting with the Vazin had gone well, he hoped the same could be said about his uncle's stewardship back at the court.

"That old bastard..." he muttered to himself.

After listening to those on his island Jashiki disapears to above the Aurora nation to look for its emperor. Again not finding the leader in the largest city he remembered when he was talking to the old man of the desert he was waiting for someone. Feeling his way across the waters and finding ships coming back from that port he moves himself in the middle of their formation under them. Looking up at the ships he looks around inside them till he finds the one most likely to be the emperor of the Aurora. Moving into the cabin behind the Emperor and dropping a few oranges on the table next to him.

"from the Vazin's garden they are delicious. I am sorry, i had meant to get to you much sooner than this."

"Ah!" Kaius jumped and almost fell out of his chair at the sound of the disembodied voice behind him. "Is that you, Lysei?" he asked hesitantly as he recomposed himself.

Raising an eyebrow and stepping back Jashiki pulls water from the ocean into the cabin without damaging the boats siding or anything. Recreating the same chair he had had before he sits down and looks at the young man in front of him.
"No, I am Jashiki, god of water. I believe you know of me, seeing as you have sent people to the island I created."

"Huh, thank the Father," the Emperor muttered to himself before speaking to the god. "So... you're real too? The water benders brought before me told tales of your acts, but you can never be sure in this world. Did my men land safely?"

"Yes i am a real one. I would hope they brought tales of me to all those around them."

Taking one of the oranges and pealing it he looks at the man in front of him.
"Had a visit from him hmm? I can understand that reaction, iv met him also. And yes... They arrived safely, though i don't think they are going to be attacking anything anytime soon. Is there a reason you sent warriors instead of someone more peaceful?"

"It's a dangerous world," Kaius shrugged and took an orange himself, "We only had anecdotes to go on, but I can assure you that my men mean your water benders no harm, we are purely there to secure our nation's interests. Are you here because of them?"

"It is a very good thing they meant no harm, i do so love the people on the island. What nations interest could you be protecting? Its not your island, nor any other nations island."

Tearing the orange apart and eating it slowly he watch's the young man in front of him.
"you are a water based nation, much like the Ray-Das. Although you have a different way of living."

"Aurora's interest," the Emperor answered simply, beginning to peel his own orange as the pair spoke, "That island is the last unclaimed islet on this side of the world, and it lies right before the Great Channel that carves the continent in half. Securing it is vital for protecting our interests in trade across and through the Channel."

"Plus," he added, "it can't be easy surviving on a small island, the islanders could benefit too from our supplies and protection, if you get my drift?"

Waving his hand slightly Jashiki puts his arms on the chair arms.
"I have no problem with the Aurora setting up a trade city. It would be the center of trade between you and any port city on this side of the world. But you only get one city, and im going to offer the Ray-Das and the Ajivha as well as any other nation that can make their way to the island. Of course, there is some laws concerning it. Each nation will only get one city, any disputes concerning nations will be done outside the island. You will lay no claim to any lands outside of what is given to you for your city-port. Ah, and the master of bender town will be in charge of keeping the peace outside the city's."

Smiling and tapping his claws on the chair arm Jashiki nods firmly.
"Yes.... I believe that will keep you all honest."

"That seems... fair," Kaius replied, "is there any way you would consider ceding more of the island though? There's room in the Auroran temples for at-least one more god, you are the deity of water no? Together, we could make a great alliance."

Smiling slowly down at the young man Jashiki shakes his head.
"I think one city per nation to find the place is more than fair. But, the breath and population will be up to you."

Pulling some water from his chair Jashiki moves it so its against the wall, in the shape of a raindrop.
"I would love being added to your temples, we will talk about more land on the island when you have a working port and need more room."

Closing his fist the water on the wall turns to superheated steam and burns the wall slightly. A charred symbol in the shape of a water droplet now on the wall.
Jashiki looks at the young Emperor.
"we would be a great alliance indeed."

"Yes, it would" the Emperor said, taking a bite of orange. "Tell me Jashiki. Is there a way you could kill, or at-least disable, another god?"

Looking more sharply at the man in front of him Jashiki smiles thinly.
"Someone is burning under the hand of a god hmm?"

Sitting back and looking at the wall he stays quiet for a minute before shrugging.
"There's a chance. I'm not sure about killing, the way we are i think that would be impossible. But disabling one may be possible."

Looking in another direction Jashiki taps his claws on the arm of his chair.
"I'm going to guess Lysei, because you assumed i was him."

"That is correct," Kaius replied with a nervous glance around, "He has promised to protect our land against invaders, but at the same time he works against the natural order of our society, he burns nobles alive for 'crimes' against his moral code, ones which are perfectly legal under our laws and sends me terrible visions of these murders in my dreams. For a while I thought he was on our side, but recent events have shown he is too unpredictable, if you could disable him from ever affecting our lands again, in return Aurora would happily pledge all it's worship to you. Forever."

Looking the young Emperor in the face and leaning forward Jashiki thinks it over slowly. Going over every angle and repercussion in his mind. The time stretching out he does not move for close to 15 minutes. then he looks at the man in front of him.
"I... Do not know if i can stop him from effecting your lands, So much land and so many people. I can try.. Weakening him, or tell him to leave and not return on pain of forcing a grudge between us. I agree, he is unpredictable and the Rad-Das also have a grudge against him. They are calling for justice against the one who killed their beloved leader."

Standing and looking down at the man in front of him Jashiki sets his hand on his head and brings his power to bear. Filling him with his power he cuts out the power from the other god. Lifting his hand off and looking down Jashki says softly.
"you will be plagued by the visions no longer. I would suggest you find a way he can not find you again, or this may just be a temporary fix."

"Thank you," the Emperor sighed, holding his head in relieve. A great burden had been lifted off his shoulders, now he could finally sleep without being troubled by the nightmares. "I will consult my priests immediately about what you suggest, I swear as soon as I make land on Maia my first order will be to dedicate a temple to your mercy."

Kaius then stood up and bowed ceremonially to the god, before offering his hand.

Nodding at the Emperor and taking his hand Jashiki holds it for a second before letting go and stepping back.
"temple or festival. Spread the word of me to all corners of your nation. your water benders will bring you the ways to honor me, all those who have come back from my island will know."

Letting the water he had been using as a chair soak back into the wood and into the ocean beyond Jashiki smiles down at the newly freed Emperor and reaching out he scratch's a circle around the charred water droplet on the wall and sets his hand on it.
"My symbol, for when you are making the temples and alters."

Nodding at the Emperor Jashiki turn and disappears instantly.

Cyth'raul, Ocean → Channel Isle - 9/15 AP

The deity surveyed the changes enforced on the world, it was a wonder that it had worked at all. The mortals seemed instead in the new island which had sprung up in the centre of the continent. However, the mortals didn't seem to have questioned the source of the island's creation or the one behind the water shrinkage.

Time to correct them. In a booming voice, Cyth'raul called out while floating above the young island, "I am Cyth'rual! This is... Cytundeb - my gift to you all! However, there are terms attached: this piece of land remains neutral, its purpose is that of a trading post, nothing more, nothing less. I can easily sink it back from whence it came if you disagree."

Terms had been given, now all the deity could do was wait.

The Southern Plains

Haakan and his small band of loyal followers made good progress on their trip, skirting past the border of Rok'lo Sha as they moved around the Gulf of Weather Stone. Haakan initially worried that the denizens of the forest would see them as intruders and attack, but he never saw anything move through the forest.

Some time later...

Finally rounding the gulf, the group headed north into the stretch of sandy wastes that surrounded Grand Ajivha. With their goal so close, the the Silver Tribe expedition weathered the harsh winds and the heights of the dunes before finally reaching the tall University. With a grunt of relief, Haakan led his fellows inside for a chance to meet the god who created this giant of a building.

Ajivha University

However, they were not the first Luug to set foot in the university, as Keplar had arrived days before. Trying not to attract attention to himself, the Luug quickly immersed himself in the texts stored within the centre of learning. He studied the methodology of experimentation in an attempt to improve his method.

Highcrag

Jugaan grew frustrated with her Tribe's attempts to seal off the northern caves. However, her stay in the capital had allowed her to catch wind of the new scout corp in the Glass Shifters. Though most of them were loyal to Lew'pan or Budraal, she knew the wealth of the Gold Tribe could compel them to do a favor for her.

Sure enough, the more nimble Luug were happy to take Jugaan's coin in exchange for a...private mission up north. In the meantime, Jugaan would busy herself to make sure the scout weren't missed, or at least to make sure she wouldn't be blamed for their departure.

Gangari, Ekaki → Silver-root - 7/15 AP

Gangari watched as the tired Luug approached the university. He had been watching their journey with interest, half-focused on it and half-focused on the university. The arrival of so many differing bodies and minds was a bit disorienting without something to keep busy with.

Seeing the Luug enter, he rematerialized himself near them, unconsciously making his hair turn fully Silver in their presence.

He walked up to their leader, Haakan and spoke "I believe you wish to speak with me?"

The Vazin - Ajiva-Nau: In a pleasantly scented orange garden

Times changed.

A few years ago the Vazin's had a much simpler time: settling matter of land and raider, watching as the various families vied for some grasp of power. Now in front of him sat reports of islands forming from the nothing, disputes between gods and nations, breakthroughs from his new university. Gods sought him out, Emperors came for his council.

The old man rose from his chair, he still had a little strength in his limbs, slowly he walked to the garden balcony overlooking the bay of his new city. Ships came were leaving the dock by the droves, in such a short time his desert nation had amassed a navy. Closer, soldiers prepared the ballistas, calibrating for the perfect arc of fire. His nation had advanced so much and yet he could not bring himself to be happy.

'Its not enough' he whispered. Even in the relative peace of the time nations were at quietly at each others throats; plotters plotted, diplomats travelled city to city, Gods made deals with mortals. The world had advanced, yes, but it had fallen into chaos, in a way he missed the simpler time.

There was still hope, so much had been achieved and so much more was on the way. But if the nations and gods continued as they were ultimately it would be for nothing.

'We need clarity. We needed direction. We need order.'

His words fell to no one. Empty words spoken to the air. With a sign the Vazin returned to his work.

Emperor Kaius III, Nova Verde, Isle of Maia

The Emperor sighed as the familiar sight of Nova Verde came into view, the city's decorative towers stretching towards the sky and the streets bustling with people of all colours and creeds. He never truly felt at ease anywhere else than the capital, with perhaps the exception of his old home the island of Verde. Soon the coach was within the gates of the Imperial Palace, resplendent under the midday sun. As Kaius reached the coachhouse and stepped out into the burning heat, his manslave Wen ran up to him, out of breath.

"Ah, excellent," the Emperor started, "I want the high priests brought out to the palace gardens immediately in full ceremonial gear, and then take this order to the nearest naval officer. Also..." he reached into his cloak and took out a neatly folded letter, "Look after this, you'll find instructions inside."

"Of course your Imperial Majesty, I will do those tasks right away, but..."

"...but what, Wen?"

"Your wife Prima, they took her into the palace infirmary this morning... she's going into labour!"

Ajivha University

"I believe you wish to speak with me?"

Haakan looked Gangari up and down before responding. "I guess I am, are you the being that called us here?"

"I am Gangari, I spoke to you."

The Luug nodded, silently ordering his compatriots to move away, which they quickly did. "I am Haakan, Chieftain of the Silver Tribe..." Haakan trailed off as he spied a group of people practicing a strange mysticism involving odd-looking symbols. "...and I've come here to obtain a special power. It appears you can deliver."

"I'm not surprised news of my gift has spread so far. Though Haakan, I must ask what would you use it for?"

"To restore my Tribe of course!" Haakan's proclamation reverberated through the chamber, causing several loose books to fall to the floor. "The Silver Tribe is dying, the metal we once claimed as our right to mine, smelt, and trade with has become almost useless within our confederation. However, if we had knowledge of this art..." Haakan nodded in the direction of the Artificers, somewhat distressed by the earlier commotion. "...then we can live again, with new-found power compensating for our worthless silver."

He took a moment to think before responding. "You seek my power for just reasons. If you wish to learn my arts I shall teach you."

Haakan bowed respectfully, as did his followers, who had edged closer after they felt their Chieftain exclaim. "My Tribe will not forget this, I will make sure of it."

"Then follow me."

Golden Settlement

Wos was displeased with another failure in expanding their territory. While there was no true excuse, he could sympathize with his subordinates'...discomfort with regards to working with a monstrosity. Both the Queen and the Luug worked to carve tunnels, but they could not work together and in the end both of them ended up getting no where.

To try and fix the problem, Wos decided that, with now a brood that was somehow divinely inspired to follow them, there was an opportunity to test out an old idea. If only to kill time before Jugaan sent new orders, Wos gathered the the old gang and tried experimenting with maggot taming one more time.
