Eryn rose from her chair and walked to where Wes was sitting. Even if they did have an important mission to attend to she wanted to get the talk with him out of the way. She stopped right in front of him and folded her arms across her chest, her brows furrowing in annoyance.

"Okay, you've been acting strange these last few days. You won't talk to me and won't look at me. I know we weren't friends to begin with, but.. Why are you acting so strange?!"

"Well. . . I-" Wes sputtered, then stopped and put a hand on his head. He sighed heavily and tried, again, to avoid her gaze.

"I'm worried about you. I heard your howl, and wanted to ask if you were okay and didn't know how." he blurted out.

"And now you're mad at me, and I'm scared to make it worse."

"There! You did it again. You're not even looking at me." Eryn sighed, becoming increasingly frustrated with Wes. In fact, this whole conversation was becoming frustrating.

Eryn sat down next to Wes, rubbing the bridge of her nose with her hand. "Thank you for being concerned, but I am fine." What a lie.

"Is that the only reason you've been avoiding me?"

Wes forced himself to keep eye contact with her, but the venom in her gaze made him want to leave. He really, really didn't want her to be angry with him, but he still wasn't entirely sure what her issue was. It can't just be because of eye contact... can it?

"Well, I did something to make you storm off last night and I don't know what it was. I still don't, and like I said: I don't want to make it worse by doing it again."

He paused for a second, finally stumbling upon his reason for being afraid of confronting her. Shame? Really? Because I upset her?

"What was it that made you leave?"

"I was angry because you had assumed that I did something wrong, even though I didn't. I do have some self control.. Part of it was my fault too. I overreacted and acted like a child. I'm sor- Er.."

Eryn sighed one again, apologizing for something was difficult for her. She turned and looked at Wes, their faces a few inches apart.

"I'm sorry."

"I didn't even know I was assuming anything was wrong." Wes admitted. "I think you just said 'what did I do now?' and I said...something."

He just looked at her for a moment, then said, "I'm sorry too."

Seated on his bed, Justin got distracted by the noise from the group, but he couldn't tell who had been talking or what they had said. This is going to be bad. If he's going to be out in the open, any half-decent sniper could easily take him out. If there's a raid on the church, we're all sitting ducks in the congregation; I know I'd keep the crowd under control. Elbows on his knees, he put his hands together and rested his chin on them.

Dammit, this just won't end well. A good team will take him out before we can even get up, and a bad team will kill a lot of civilians. Just, don't bring this up unless you have to so you don't seem like a whiner or anything. Sighing, he stood up and grabbed his medic bag, tossing it over one shoulder as he rejoined the group.

Rolf looked over at Wes and Eryn, his expression still unchanged. "I don't mean... To sound cold... But don't we have... A mission we... Need to head out... for?..."

"Yeah, we do." Wes said to Rold, rising to his feet. "I'm ready to go. Anyone else?"

There was a string of affirmatives, so the groups started to file out. Luka informed them that the church was fairly close, so they decided to walk. The city was very peaceful, but full of life as well. People walked the streets and among the stores, there were few vehicles. For some of the mythos, it was a welcome change from the war zones and bunkers. For others, it was a place of stress, in the presence of so many humans with such strongly held beliefs that the war had started almost because of them.

It was about twenty minutes before they reached the destination Luka had instructed for them. The church was beautiful from the outside, but not grand in any way. It was about the size of a decent house, built of wood and stone. There were no statues or carvings, aside from the arch of the front door. Not a single piece of marble was in sight, in contrast to the majority of Roman churches.

They climbed the steps and tried to open the front door, but found it locked. Anthony pounded on the door a couple times, and finally a lock was heard turning. The door cracked open, and a shorter man peeked out.

"Good." he said cheerfully, as if seeing them had been enough to know that they weren't dangerous. He pulled the door open and invited them in, making sure to stay shielded behind the heavy wood.

"I'm glad you came, I am Father Isaac McGready." The man spoke with an Italian accent, but a hint of Irish could be detected. Issac was truthfully an immigrant. He was about 5'8" tall, had dark brown hair, and a weathered and thin face. He appeared to be around his forties in age. "Shall I fill you in on my whole story, or would you just like to know what I'd want from you?"

"Perhaps the entire story would be best. So that we may better understand the situation, Father." Burst said to the priest respectfully.

He stood towards the wall, looking around lightly. The church was not built with the same Gothic architecture that most of the cathedrals were. This building reflected more of a Romanesque style, from when the Catholic church condemned excess and extravagance.

As Burst requested the Father's whole story, Justin glanced around at the inside of the cathedral.

Let's see, simplistic design should make repairs easy. Not many entrances, which just leaves the choke points, unless they don't mind crashing through the windows. Doesn't look like they could get a sniper in here, though, so it'll have to be an obvious assailant or group. He crossed his arms as he kept looking around.

So we have to protect him and hear his life story? Great.. Just great. Eryn sat down, looking around at the simplistic building. It was actually very nice.

Whoa, I'm thinking a church is nice. Don't get ahead of yourself, Eryn.

"Very well," the Father started, "I am one of the aos si, a Celtic 'myth' similar to what you would call 'elves'. We're a peace loving folk, and I've been working for several years here to spread a more positive opinion of mythos."

"Of course, not everyone wants to hear such teachings, even if they are the truth. Many people simply don't believe in respect for all of God's creations. They think that we are an affront to the Lord simply by existing."

He sighed and rubbed the bridge of his nose, then started walking down the aisle. "I've gotten death threats before, but I simply became more cautious. This is more serious. On the top step of the church, I found a page torn from an old book of Celtic myths this morning. It was a page detailing the aos si, and written across it were the words "Myths Will Die Today". That was why I called Luka for help, I cannot leave the church for fear they will kill me. But, I must keep my service going or else they may spread word of my identity. I would lose this place." He stopped and set a hand sorrowfully on the edge of a pew

Azure Leaned against the wall in the training room, arms folded and eyes closed, the equipment nearby lay in tatters, a few small flames flickered on the remains before finally going out, this equipment was too fragile, it was useless, it had been a while since the others had left for the church, long enough.

"You know, for one of the Archon's Apostles you didn't hide yourself well" said Azure in a different language, his own language, an ancient language of demons which had passed to his race the day the Demoness saved them, the language had been forgotten by the other races, even demons themselves, but a few still remembered it.

"What gave me away?" asked a male voice in the same language, a robed figure materialised near the opposite wall to Azure, his physical appearance similar to Azure, but older, every part of exposed skin was covered in runes, the Arashei stared at Azure, waiting for a reply.

Eryn stood up from her seat, dusting off the back of her pants even though they weren't dirty. "Interesting story, Father. Now how should we proceed? I can search the perimeter if you'd like, maybe try and find a scent among the crowd that doesn't belong.."

Shrugging her shoulders, Eryn started to make her way towards the exit, waiting on Anthony's or the Fathers' answer.

Anthony jerked up from his thoughts as Eryn looked at him expecting orders, "Yes," he mumbled, "Go on patrol."

He was then struck with an idea, "Wait Eryn, you come with me, we need to discuss some recent developments I've noticed."

"I'd rather not. I think I should patrol the area, look for any.." Eryn's sentence died off when she finally looked at Anthony, the serious expression on his face made her uneasy like always.

"Fine", she said, closing the door harder than necessary. "Lead the way, boss."

"I'll look outside then." Wes said, stepping past Eryn and opening the door just enough to squeeze out.

"So," Father McGready continued, "As much as I hope that nothing will happen, I'd like for you to spread yourselves out among the congregation to contain any violence that may occur."

He paused for a second, then added more slowly, "I won't condone murder, but if they bring it upon themselves I will not fault you for doing what must be done."

"Awesome," Justin commented. "I don't have much love for the church, or religion in general, but I'll still try not to shoot unless I have to. Wouldn't want to get blood on someone's holy ground. At least the suit will kinda help me blend in." He paused to glance around.

"I dunno, do people usually dress up for church?"

"Yes, human." Burst commented at Justin. "People make themselves look presentable whenever they are in a temple. It is a matter of respect, so I suggest you look the part. We all should."

That was another thing about humans... So quick to pass judgement on things. While Burst did not believe in the Semitic God, he did have a certain amount of spirituality to him, despite what his demeanor might suggest. To put it simply, he was an Animist, and recognized the living soul that all living things had... even humans.
