Does anyone find these interesting and intriguing?

There are things in some games that make you think, and you don't know if they are true or not, and are never explained.

For example, the Sacred Grove in Zelda Twilight Princess is actually the original Temple of Time from Ocarina of Time, and it makes you think what happened to it in all those years.

Another is the Old Chateau in Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, as you have no idea what happened there, and there are ghosts there.

So do you find mysteries and history in games intriguing?

Please discuss and thank you.

Personally I often find myself wondering about such things. Im a bit of a lore sucker in general and oddly enough I often find myself remembering tiny details about lore or a "odd" place in games generally.
Sandbox games are a bit of a bane in that regard as I spend more time exploring stuff then acctually questing. Yes Im looking at YOU fallout.

Supposedly, that abandoned mansion in GTA IV is the Leone Family mansion from GTA 3.

Final Fantasy VII has a load of Norse mythology inspiration: Midgar is a play-on Midgard, the human world of Norse myth; also Nibelheim which is of course Niflheim (city of the Clouds..); Cloud's weapon Ragnakok which is in Norse myth the final battle; and finally there's Odin the summon.

Those are all the ones off the top of my head.

I love shit like this, though some of it makes me sad.

For instance, I loved the feel of the years in between Fable and Fable II, and I almost shat myself when I saw what happened to Oakvale.

Oracle of Ages (Zelda) was another fun one.

I do find such things interesting. Also in a different form.

Like one Rumor/myth I found interesting was the notion of "Halo Primal" that was speculated and supposedly somewhat supported. My understanding was it was going to be a halo game that focused in the distant past of the covenant.

An example of in game, I loved how before the PoP expansion in Everquest, there were tons of lore items that were in the games database, Such as the truth bringer of Mithaniel Marr, Or Fironia Vie's staff, Or the Dark Elf Cleric symbol line of necklaces that took the quest to steps, 4,5,6 All of which NEVER went live.

Just started playing Morrowind, and it's one of the things I love most about it. It actually has books you can read; I just pick up a book about the first war of the council and I can read an entire historical account. I've also read plenty of fables, books full of proverbs, and fictional stories (one of which is spread over 7 of the books, so it's basically a novella). The extent to which they have developed that world is astounding. I am loving this freaking game.

Welcome to The Escapist, Sean! A word of advice; posts like your response to Lord Merik could get you in trouble here. Never post something if all you have to say is something like "Never heard of it." If you're going to post, have something to talk about, not just a quick little thing like that. Even just announcing intent to check the game out or something would save that post, but as you wrote it, you could get a mod warning for it if someone were to report it. I will not do that, but rather, look out for that in the future. Low-content posts are looked down upon here.
