"So if I accidentally cause some friendly fire, I apologize in advance."

The smile disappeared,"You cause friendly fire and someone actually gets injured, and I'll personally make sure it doesn't happen again, whether it takes throwing you out of the airlock or simply giving you a one-way ticket back to the nearest human colony, you aren't the only one that doesn't need backup."

His face never changed expression throughout his pronouncement. Completely calm, but kept his eyes locked with Ailia's, as he was dead serious. He might not wish her dead, but if she actually caused someone actually getting hurt, he had no problem making sure she didn't do it again. Seven years in the Terminus System, and he'd only lost six members of his team barely six weeks ago from the damned Reapers. There were no casualties, very few serious injuries, and besides the Turian back on Palaven behind a desk now, not a career-ending injury. However, he settled back in the chair again and spoke to the room in general this time.

"But, there is about a Vorcha's claw width for margin of error here. Can't know for sure what those Reaper bastards'll throw at us, or even Cerberus, I heard they weren't as wiped out as the Alliance thought.

Nilus shrugged. "She causes friendly fire it gets swept under bureaucratic red tape, as per usual with you infiltrators. Then she buys drinks for everyone still alive."

Nilus tapped a few buttons on the table in the centre of the lounge, and and the quantum entanglement communicator sprang to life.

"Alright team, listen up." muttered Thorel through the communicator. "Cerberus has a base set up on the planet Klensal in the Hades Gamma cluster. It's a freezing cold world, reaching temperatures of -40C. They've been attempting to replicate Normandy class Stealth Cruisers. We need that base destroyed, and any completed ships recovered for The Alliance. Early reconnaissance shows there are no orbit defenses, so you should be able to land very close to the base itself."

"Report to Meli'Dolah in the armory for a gear check, then proceed to dock 15 in the Zakera Ward. I have SSV Istanbul standing by."

Ravvik was somewhat confused by this, he thought the reports he'd read about Shepard had said that Cerberus had successfully rebuilt the normandy for them already, he shrugged though, it wasn't important. He walked into the armory, retrieved his guns and armor, putting it on quickly and carefully folding his suit before putting it away, he then took his hat off and placed it atop the suit. He was working on getting the rest of his collection sent in, as well as the hat rack to hang them on. He checked his armor's hydralic amp system, his flamer, and his omni-blades, he didn't need much else.

He walked over to Meli'Dorah for an equipment check, he doubted she would find anything wrong, but then again he usually had to work with vorcha or krogan engineers, and they were not very reliable, he needed both hands to count the number of times his equipment had broken down and he'd been left killing enemies with his bare hands. Particularly annoying to do with security mechs as they couldn't be strangled.

Ai silently stood, went into the armory, and began suiting up. She knew there was nothing wrong with her suit. She'd checked it three times, herself. Same with her palm-gun, which had stats that were shone as a HUD right in her eyes. There was also little that could go wrong with her sword, but she figured she should get her sniper rifle checked, at least.

She waited behind Ravvik, helmet under one arm, collapsed Black Widow rifle in the other.

Lon walked to the armory, picking back up his explosives and his SMG, checking to make sure they hadn't been sabotoged or bugged, and started to walk straight to the dock. Lon had started to think through the mission.

"How close to completion do they think these ships are?" Lon wondered in his mind, "Will we be able to keep one?"

I have SSV Istanbul standing by."

Litherax stood up and walked back to the lockers. Not much point in waiting here, was there? The Turian opened his locker and strapped on his armor, after taking his pistol out of the holster on his leg. Next were his weapons, his pistol collapsed and went into his leg, the Raptor he moved with practiced precision onto his back, where it clicked and held. Finally was his helmet, more a visor actually, but it had some protection. If they were dropped on a bad atmosphere, he had a proper helmet, but until they found that out, he was sticking to the visor with the rangefinder and terrain analyzer.

His gear was as perfectly precise as he could get it, and he wasn't about to let anyone tamper with it. His settings were where he wanted them. He simply waited by the door, his weapons were in order the way they were supposed to be, but he didn't know how to get to Zakera from here, and it was probably better to wait for the team in any case. He wasn't too impressed with any of them so far. The Volus he suspected would be dead within a month, The Vorcha'd probably make through that damn in-born regeneration and hate of anything actually harming them, Nilus was an officer, and one somewhat lax on discipline if he thought so himself, but it wasn't his place to judge yet, he hadn't seen him in the field yet, then again, Cabals were pretty close-knit bunches. Ailia was somewhat interesting and might live through to the end of this war, but was still Alliance, and they were a brash race to begin with. The Quarian was a biotic, of all things, and seemed to have no idea how to use them, Literax would've thought he'd have gotten some kind of instruction on his Pilgrimmage, unless the Quarians kept their biotics locked up, afraid for the fleet.

Komma wandered to the locker, noting the rest of the group actually having to suit up. He couldn't tell if he was jealous or not. He decided to go with slight disappointment, and grabbed his rifle. He knew it was fine, though the female quarian might object due to simple disliking of him. He sighed, and meandered to the back of the line. Komma was more worried with his energy drink, didn't want to collapse in the field.
Komma decided to sod the gear check, and go with the Turian.
"I know a few shortcuts to Zakera ward, want to do some scouting?" He asked the much taller organism.

"Okay Ravvik. M-22 Eviscerator, extended barrel, very nice, and an M-5 Phalanx. You have style." Mel tapped a few buttons on her omni-tool. "There, you have clearance aboard Istanbul now, they won't argue with Rear Admiral Thorel's authority."

She walked up to Ai "Okay Ailia... Black Widow Rifle..." she glanced up into Ai's glowing eyes confused "No attachments? I think I have a spare extended barrel floating around here somewhere, maybe a thermal scope... Regardless, you're cleared."

"Captain Kyral. Mattock... looks a little beat up... how long have you been using this?" she asked. "Well... I don't know... Years." he sighed. "I'll recommend a replacement before to long, but it's fine for now. M-5 Phalanx, perfect working condition. You're cleared."

Mel glanced up to look around the armory. The squad was leaving without a weapon check. She just laughed to herself. "Ai, would you let the others know that without my clearance they'll be killed upon even trying to enter the dock?" No one could see it, but she was grinning manically under her helmet.

Lon immediately turned around when he heard that, and handed his guns over to Mel.

"I thought the orders," Lon started, "meant to check our own weapons. In the Turians auxilleries, we were taught to keep our own weapons in order."

Lon handed his SMG, his pistol, and samples of his explosives over to Mel.

"Yes." she said sarcastically. "Report to your armory officer in her armory to check your own weapons. There's that Volus genius I hear so much about." She took the weapons and examined them. "Hmph. I don't have much experience with Cerberus tech... but the ultralight parts seem to have been installed correctly, no impact on the firing mechanism." she turned suddenly and fired a couple rounds at the wall behind her. "Yep. It's fine."

"Carnifex pistol... no attachments. Seems brand new. I've got some spare parts around here if you want to make improvements. As for these explosives... these mines are fine. The heavy stuff is fine... Volus tech tends to make a bigger boom anyway, almost like you're compensating for something. You're cleared."

"I know a few shortcuts to Zakera ward, want to do some scouting?"

"Rookie, if we needed to do scouting, we'd have already been briefed and the Geth would be attacking again. In any case, I'm not point for this, I don't know the way to Zakera, and the stick up my ass is itching to be taken out and used."

In the Turians auxilleries, we were taught to keep our own weapons in order."

"If C-Sec were going to shoot us for having weapons, they should've taken them at the entrance instead of looking at them in the bags and handing them back,"He said, no longer leaning on the doorway,he took out his pistol and held it up,"The M-5 Phalanx, heavy pistol, no mods whatsoever," He replaced the weapon in its compartment in his leg, and pulled the sniper off of his back and held it up the same as the pistol,"Raptor, Turian-issue, semi-automatic sniper, used as a hybrid by my team, added a barrel for a little bit of an extra punch and a thermal scope,"He replaced it on his back, and activated his omni-tool,"The HMOT 6, a bit of an older model, but I haven't had the time to get an upgrade since I got back, made to get through most security systems I've come up against, manufactures some of the best parts for my on-the-fly traps I've ever seen, and still has around 10 petabytes free,"He turned it off and stood at Turian attention,"That's my gear, you want my weapons? You'll have to kill me first, Meli'Dolah. And I don't fight fair. With all due respect. Now, mind if we actually get some work done instead of standing around checking weapons that had better work or we were all out of a job to begin with."

Ravvik thanked her and took back his guns, turning to walk towards the docks. He had to stifle a laugh as she declared the others would be shot if they attempted to board without checking their weapons, he doubted the seriousness of the threat, though he was sure there would be some repercussions, the alliance was too soft to start executing people for such a small thing.

Komma sighed, he forgot that Turians follow orders like a religion. He surrendered his weapon to the female Quarian with a weak apology for his previous behavior. He doubted he would honestly get shot, but hey, humans were crazy. It COULD happen.
"It's my only weapon, I rely on my biotics mostly, a L3-R. It's kept me alive through several battles."

Mel glanced up. "A biotic? How did you survive exposure? Which ship did this happen on? Did you report this to the Admiralty Board?" she babbled. After regaining her composure she checked the gun.

"What the... how many? she turned the gun over in her hands. "There are too many attachments on this thing, and so many are installed incorrectly. Give me a moment." she turned and started fiddling with the gun on a bench. "Ugh! What sort of idiot installs stabilizers without removing the stock M-9?" she muttered.

She disassembled and reassembled the entire gun, removing several components, then handing it back. "There. All your modifications are still intact. It should be slightly lighter now. Whichever idiot Omega engineer you went to deserves to be shot. Oh yeah, all those components have had a minor effect on the firing mechanism. Doesn't deal as much damage as a normal M-9 and I'm not willing to risk an extended barrel to compensate. I'll put another on order. You're still cleared."

"Remind me to shoot my krogan friend. Professional my ass... Oh, I paid to be exposed. I was the only one in danger, the Lokshi is still standing." He smiled sheepishly underneath his helmet, and rubbed the back of his helmet. He accepted his rifle back, and did a half-hearted imitation of the standard human salute. Komma fell in line behind the Vorcha.

Lon leaned forward a bit, grabbed his weapons and headed to the transport, with only a quick, "Thank you sir." He actually lied about the 'check you own weapons,' idea, Lon found it was best to avoid handing your weapons to your employers if it can be avoided.

Again, Lon started to walk over to the Zakera Ward, annoyed he wasn't going to be the first on the transport.

"Hmph. That's cute." laughed Mel. "Meli'Dolah vas Adelaide to SSV Istanbul. N7 Squad A-05 heading your way." she waited until the squad was out of earshot then muttered "and detain Turian Litherax until further notice from Rear Admiral David Thorel. Meli'Dolah over and out."

Ai, rifle stuck to her back once again, followed the rest to the Istanbul, flexing her right hand as she walked. "Cerberus, eh? Figured we were goin' after the Reaper forces. Nae that I'm complainin', mind."

Ravvik shrugged, "I could care less who we're killing, so long as we get paid for it," he said.

He reached the Istanbul and waited for security to clear him to board.

A few Alliance Marines stood at the airlock of the Istanbul. "N7 Special Operations, Squad A-05, step forward to prepare for a security scan check." As Ravvik walked forward one of the guards flinched, but continued the scan. "Ravvik, Vorcha, N7 A-05. Cleared. Welcome aboard sir."

Nilus walked up to be next scanned. "Captain Nilus Kyral, 8th Kabal Regiment, Turian Hierarchy, N7 A-05. Welcome aboard Captain."
