Four things for an apocalypse? Then I'll take:

1) A copper-bottomed pot. For boiling water, drinking water, cooking food, improvised melee use, storage, etc.

2) A lighter. To start fires with.

3) A spiral notebook, with mechanical pencil. For writing down important info, etc.

4) A multitool. For opening cans, preparing firewood, cutting wires ropes and the like, miscellaneous maintenance, as a thing to mess with when bored so as not to waste the lighter or pad, etc.

EDIT: I, of course, assume that clothing need not be specified.

My laptop bag/backpack
My rifle
My ammo can
My crowbar

Anything else can be put in, or hung from the bag, my pockets, or acquired as needed.

Does whole computer + whole computer equipment i got counts as one?
Then computer, notebook, phone and gsm internet modem.

BTW: I think that for some people the thread's name is displayed wrong. It's not a thread about zombie apocalypse.
If you would have read correctly you would have discovered it says ANY apocalypse.
If you would have been thinking correctly, you would have noticed that everyone posted equipment for zombie apocalypse.
If you would have THOUGHT about it it doesn't matter they could still use it in any appocalypse. Plus what they list and you think doesn't make it right.
How exactly shotguns, swords and knives would help in, like, nuclear ap(pppppp?)ocalypse, or any non-zombie apocalypse?

Om nom nom tasty gunpowder! Oh, and the shells make an excellent place to shelter during the night!
It makes stealing things, say food or shelter, a whole lot easier. And it makes it a whole lot harder to steal from you.
DAMN STRAIGHT! Thank God someone with common sence. Or at least the will to not piss me off.
can i join your shelter im from new zealand so we know everything about making huts and stuff in the bushes, also i can be zombie bait
Yes you may. You will be our New Zealand Bastard and we shall share bitches with each other lol
thank you, i have a new zealand accent too so i can provide witty humor untill i distract zombies and run off so you can survive, and bitches are always welcome

My cogitation engine, my miniature Fusion-power generator, my biggest Rena-chan figurine, and my hugging pillow.
I can trade electrical power for protection, use my PC, sit on my pillow, and generally start an outpost.
Alternatively, I'd take a spare set of underwear, my favourite cosplay outfit, my wind-up LED torch, and my medication.
Either way, things can get interesting.

Empty Gatorade bottle, for use as a canteen.
Backpack, for keeping scavenged items.
Pyntie, my stuffed dragon, for companionship of a sort.
And a full bottle of Aleve, because as I realize that my strength and endurance need to be trained up to wander the wasteland, I'm going to have a LOT of pain to kill, especially early on.

I could probably scav most of the rest of the stuff I needed. Of course, lacking a Pip-Boy or Geiger counter of any sort, I'd probably die or turn into a Ghoul due to drinking irradiated water to ward off thirst, but them's the breaks. (depending on where this scenario stands on the scale of real vs. fantasy/game-inspired).

My new Nerf gun for the Nerfapocalypse. The most fun apocalypse there is. In the Nerfapocalypse there is lots of flying darts and bruised arms, but everyone has a good time.
So it's kinda like this?

Awesome!

OT: 1) a dirk, cause you never know when yo need something sharp and pointy
2) my book collected works of William Shakespeare to kill time or small wildlife
3) a laptop
4) my sonic screwdriver, just in case...

If You have a sonic screwdriver do you need anything else?
Well, technically yes since I can't read or play games on a screwdriver.

Spare pair of underwear, to protet my brain.
Stapler, to defend myself, the only thing that is viable... other than maybe a chair.
A pen, so I can record all that has happened.
And a loaf of bread... to feed the ducks.

Well, I'm in a hotel right now... so let's go with

1. Booze from the mini-bar.
2. More booze from the mini-bar.
3. Still even more booze from the mini-bar.
4. My tuxedo.

As you may tell, I won't survive long, but I'll be drunk and looking fantastic.

MP3 player, katana, wakizashi, tanto. There's not much else in this room that would be any real use.
