Considering how F-Zero is one of those franchises that could really take great advantage of the Wii U's graphical capabilities, combined with serious fan interest, it seems like this would be a no-brainer for Nintendo. But nope, more New Super Mario for us :/
Lifetime sales

F-Zero GX - 650,000
New Super Mario Bros Wii - 27 million

Looking at those figures and combined with the knowledge that sales of each consecutive F-Zero have dropped dramatically(original sold nearly 3 million,X managed just over 1 million and GX 650,000)is it any wonder that they're not rushing to give us a new one?People can talk about serious fan interest but that doesn't necessarily translate into sales.I mean there was serious fan interest in the "operation rainfall" games yet those games only managed about 600,000 combined sales in North America

Don't get me wrong I would love to see a new F-Zero but unfortunately Nintendo have zero incentive to make one

Breath of Fire.

Don't change the formula of 2, 3 and 4 too much, just update it and add some minor improvements. And get it as far as Capcom as possible. Actually, that's how I feel about a lot of their franchises nowadays. Sad, really.

Earthbound. Come on already. I don't care if the studio went bankrupt or whatever. Whatever the story is. Its earthbound, it's not a hard franchise to make. The goofier, the better. You can literally do whatever you want with Earthbounds world. You want the kids in the game to fight a giant race of super smart army ants, so be it. Or maybe they fight a giant building in the game that's aware of itself and is now attacking. You can do anything you want. Just make it cool like it was in the first game, I'll be happy. The more odd, the better.

anything and everything that rare did pre kinect, maybe a new perfect dark will actually entice people to buy an XBone, if miracles do exist and angles come flying out of don mattrick's mouth instead of gobs of bullshit.

naughty dog, bring back jak and daxter, or at least put out a nice fun platformer, you've won the critical acclaim, now go have some fun, we won't mind if your next game is silly :D

Tenchu, Tenchu needs saving.

How to save it? Well I guess the problem is that it was always a little niche. Personally I'd just be happy if it had a few new abilities, up to date graphics and less repetition from the last game. The multiplayer was great fun, the only problem was getting a good connection to other players, so I guess fixing that. Character customisation in Z was great, if they could expand on that it'd be cool.

Perhaps add classes or styles like in Mark of the Ninja. Combat, pure stealth, distraction, terror and so on. Ways of playing the same missions differently.

Hell, if they combined the idea of Tenchu with Mark of the Ninja you'd have the perfect ninja/stealth game ever made. Assuming they took the best parts of both.

Final Fantasy.

First gameplay wise - go to a more traditional turn based strategy combat mechanic. Recent attempts to make it something different have utterly failed, particularly in FF XIII, rather go with something a bit simpler that allows the player to feel like they are playing the game.

Second gameplay issue, reduce the combat. The more combat you have the better the combat system has to be in order for it to avoid feeling like a chore that gets in the way of getting to the good bits. The series has never been noted for its great combat, reducing it will help the games pacing.

Third, graphics. Reduce the budget to them. The last great Final Fantasy was VII, and it was a step back from VI, these are the games you keep hearing people request get re-done in a modern style. They aren't graphical powerhouses. Strong aesthetics can be a good investment, but cut the emphasis on pixel power.

Fourth, setting. Make it fun to explore. That was part of what made the SNES games so much fun, the fact that you could see this whole world to explore. Final Fantasy at its strongest is a game all about its settings, which is why removing the shops in XIII removed so much from the game. Make sure the setting is good and everything else will fall into place.

Fifth, Villain. Stop trying to remake Sephiroth. He was good for one game, not every game.

Sixth, Player Characters. If Bioware has taught us anything, it is that it is easier to make interesting non-humans than it is to make interesting humans. Learn from that and give us more non-humans, because again, Final Fantasy is a series about settings so if you can make your allies part of building that setting, it is all going to work out for the better.

Clock Tower

Call the equivalent to child services on Capcom and put it in the hands of anybody else.
This is what I was gonna say about Breath of Fire, so I'll do some different ones.

Darkstalkers: Sell it to Lab Zero or Arc System Works for a dollar and watch that beautiful baby finally flourish in a safe, healthy, encouraging environment.

Rock Band: Do another genre like Blues Band with a harmonica, double bass, etc. Or at least, that's what I would say, but I'm terrified of seeing this thing become white-washed as fuck. Also, how the hell would the peripherals handle the wetness from use (thinking of harps and trumpets and other mouth instruments).

Assassin's Creed: Let it be about killing again instead of whatever early modern GTA shit it wants to be now.

Star Ocean: Take SO4 out behind the shed and shoot it in the head with a shotgun.

Valkyrie Profile: MAKE ME ANOTHER ONE PLEASE GOD

Sonic:

How to save it? Release more games on the level of quality of Colours, Generations, 4 Episode II (Ep I sucked).

As for Sonic Lost World? Putting it on the Wii U exclusively? WHAT ARE THEY THINKING? Release it on consoles people actually buy!

Crash Bandicoot:

Sell the franchise to Naughty Dog. Crash Bandicoot 4 for PS4. That'd make the PS4 haemorrhage money!

Klonoa:
Just release some damn games!
I'd love for that to happen (the two "main" Klonoa games are some of the finest puzzle-platformers ever), but I doubt that new games would be enough to save the poor cat. While they've always been critically-acclaimed, Klonoa games have never made much money. The Wii remake was the final blow, selling so poorly (despite being really, really great) that it basically killed any chance of Namco continuing the series.

I think the problem is how there isn't much of an audience for a game like Klonoa, sadly. The bright colors and adorable character designs are likely to make a lot of people dismiss it as a "kid's game," but the melancholy tone and story that can get really depressing at times can turn kids off from it as well. Admittedly, part of why it works so well is the dissonance between the lighthearted and darker elements when they're combined like this, but it's a saddeningly small group of people who can really appreciate it.

How to save Halo:

*Keep the gameplay relatively similar to Halo 4's (but preferrably 3's), it wasn't bad.
*Stop trying to imitate modern military shooters like Call of Duty
*Hire better writers, perhaps ones which don't like the original story so they want to make improvements to it rather than try to break something which worked perfectly fine (for example, we don't need to know that the Monitors are Humans, they retain very little Human qualities).
*Release a Halo 2 remake, I know that it would look like Reach/Halo 4 (the best Halo 2 remake would be in Halo 3/ODST's graphics) where everyone's face is made of plastic but, damn, my money would burst out of my house walls to buy it.
*Release Halo Wars 2, force Robot Entertainment to make it.

I'll admit I haven't checked out the sales figures for this, so I don't if it's accurate to call it "dying", but I thought Hitman: Absolution was a huge step in the wrong direction and fear the series may be going down a dark path.
According to what I can find out on the matter it's the best selling game of the series by a small margin.
Whaaaat?!!??!?! ...That's dark news indeed. Though I guess I'm not really surprised, considering the anticipation that built up over the 6 year gap.

I'm sorry Mister Phelps, I refuse to accept this mission. Dying game series often deserve to die as they are no longer topical to the current gaming market. And the the only way I see to save them is to update and change them into something unrecognizable from their origins, to be topical with the current gaming market. Which most often horribly perverts and compromises them from their origins.

So to quote Captain Kirk, I say "LET THEM DIE!", as I feel its much less of a disservice to all involved, than to mutate them into something they aren't, to meet today's gaming standards.
These statements are true! However, you may notice a trend of gamers feeling that certain franchises could be saved by returning them to their original glory, and that the mutations to stay relevant, that horribly pervert and compromise them from their origins, have already happened and are in fact what was killing them in the first place.

So it isn't the games that deserve to die, it's the (terrible, terrible, filthy, quasi-sentient) marketing department. But we all already knew that.

Itoi has outright said that he has retired from designing games and Nintendo will not make a new Earthbound without him. The series is officially retired.

SO4? Is that Till The End of Time or The Last Hope?

Agreed, but I'd like the see IX over VII.
I like IX. It felt like a mix of the old school JRPGs with the new generation of RPGs ('new', back then). It doesn't need a HD remake. At least not as badly as VI or VII. Though if SE would release a remake, I would determinately buy it.

Why stop at Clock Tower? Resident Evil, Devil May Cry, Megaman, Dead Rising (after the new one goes tits up), just take everything off of them.

I would also like to join the calls for saving the Klonoa franchise, starting with an English translation of "Legend of the Star Medal" being released on every digital distribution platform there is.

Silent Hill
End it.

Resident Evil
Go back to horror and get away from the action asplosions. Also, stop using Wesker.
Why end Silent Hill but continue Resident Evil? I get that SH has been floundering since The Room, but still...

Silent Hill should just be given back to a Japanese developer. Those people understand horror like the West just can't. Unless we're talking about Capcom, don't give it to Capcom.

Fable - While the health of the Fable franchise on the surface is relatively healthy, I personally fear a little for what they do next, and how they should improve things for Fable IV if it comes out, and I don't think I'm the only one.

1.) Stop putting useful things in DLC (Cough Black Dye Cough)

2.) Make choices matter. As in, really matter.
I know Fable 3 did this perhaps a little better than the other games, but I'd really like a system like in Dragon Age or Mass Effect wherein one can import in one's old Albions to affect things. It could only be small things, but IMHO, it'd be quite nice. Character choice should also be a bit more complicated than just, as ZP put it, baby eating or sainthood, and the game should reflect that; a major problem with the end of Fable 3 was the fact that somehow you couldn't just say 'the next year's going to be crap, but we'll survive that way'.

3.) Sharpen up the writing a bit more.
Some of the quests in Fable 3 were really well written in offering satire; most notably, Missing Play and The Game were very strong in terms of taking the piss gently out of Shakespeare and Tabletop Roleplaying, but this needs to permeate the other quests a bit more, and with perhaps a bit more sharpness.

4.) Make the combat a little more complex
I don't think this needs too much expansion, to be honest.

5.) Allow us to pause the game.

6.) Be very careful where you set the next one. If time continues to go forward, then the role of swords is going to be logically nil.

Anyhow, that's just me.

Breath of Fire.

Make Breath of Fire 6 a proper RPG, even if it's only on the Vita/3Ds, instead of an Iphone casual social app... god damn I'm hating Capcom so much for that right now.

They could make an open world pokemon game, like GTA, with a main mission (same as always) but loads more side mission stuff, and the fact that you might choose another career like breeder, teacher, collector and not always go the "I'll be champion route".
And actually open world third person. Like nos tupid obstacles before you get to town 2 from town 1 but actually to choose a town of beginning for oneself etc etc.
