Any one person who has affected your life and inspired you.

Could be Martin Luther King, Could be Hitler.. I don't judge.

For me it's undoubtedly the Russian high grand priest-master of acting, Constantin Stanislavski. As an amateur actor, his method has affected me more than I could possibly imagine in terms of both acting and confidence. He's also just a really cool person so if you're at all interested you should pick up one of his books - Even if you're not into acting, he's a really charming guy and they're still an interesting read!

So escapees.. Tell me, which one person INSPIRES you?.. (Actual people by the way, not fictional)

:)

People don't so much inspire me as their work does. When I think of sources of inspiration it's usually movies and other stories.

In which case;

- Hayao Miyazaki
- Brad Bird
- Kentaro Miura
- Hideaki Anno
- Katsuhiro Otomo
- Wess Anderson
- Stanley Kubrick
- Robert Zemeckis
- Paul Thomas Anderson

And loads of others.

My Granddad, Alf.

Perfect gent, always well dressed, polite but with a sharp sense of humour, generous, a brilliant host and a top family man.

I'm not saying I'm any of these things, or that he was perfect, but if I live to his age and I'm half the man he was, I'll be happy.

I can't think of anyone who has inspired my life generally, but from a music perspective it has always been Eric Clapton. Listening to his music at an early age really shaped my interest in genres, and got me to pick up and learn guitar.

My dad, perfect role model, always helped me, still helps me and has always been there to help.

I couldn't ask for a better person to be inspired by!
Jesus, I don't know how many threads I come into and get Ninjad by this guy -.-

Seriously... I might leave soon never getting the first word in anything :,(

But yeah: DAD, best rolemodel for me.

Bruce Lockhart. It's weird, it's kind of a dual thing - He reminds me heavily of myself, and this gives me the confidence that I can do the things he did, and that I'm just a step away from showing the right people that I can do that.

I may not be a scientist, and his work may be out of date at this point. But if there is one man whose attitude towards life I would seek to imitate, it would have to be Carl Sagan. That kind of genuine love for learning, and for humanity and life in general, and the awe with which he presented the universe, is downright inspiring.

My big brother. Peer pressure was never a thing he would go down with and therefore is clean from smoking, drugs etc. even though some of his past friends were not. He suffers from CP, but it didn't stop him from becoming a national soccer player, and he also got himself a girlfriend.

Goes to show how much one can do even though others tell them otherwise.

At childhood that was my grandfather
(escaped for his life, when his parents, siblings and whole village was massacred, went through 2 wars, had 2 wives and 10 kids, always worked fair and hard, and died at age of 100)

At this point it would Nikola Tesla- an example of pure scientists
(since I am getting prepared for medical academy, with further specialization in genetics, I hope)
So while I have immense respect for my grandfather, it would be Nikola Tesla

Musically, Bo Burnham. I know it is silly, but I am a complete sucker for puns, plus his songs do portray moral and intellectual questions that society has yet to answer.

Historically, I am fascinated by every ruler/leader/commander I have heard about. I enjoy taking their perspectives and situations and comparing it to others, seeing effectiveness in situations and what not. What this means is I am not inspired by a person in general, but rather the actions done by the multitude of everyone else in comparison.

My mother. She's absolutely the biggest inspiration in my life, and it's a continual surprise to me that someone like her (three kids, successful career, comfortable talking to absolutely anyone, and refuses to believe that anything is impossible) could be so proud of me.

A more situation-specific inspiration is Terry Pratchett. If I had even a tiny fraction of his talent, I don't think I'd ever do anything other than write. As it is, I just shamelessly rip-off his style. (And that of Neil Gaiman.)

Jason Becker [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jason_Becker]. Back in the '80s he was an incredible shred guitarist, creating some absolutely amazing stuff, like this [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1wFoSbjXB68]. Then, he developed Lou Gehrig's disease, which left unable to communicate except with his eyes, using a system his father devised.

His response to this: Fuck it, I'll keep composing music.

That's just utterly insane. And brilliant. The fact that he can have something this horrific happen to him and he keeps on fucking going is immense. I thought I wouldn't be able to play guitar again after I dropped a big-ass amp stack on my fretting hand and lost all feeling in my fingers on that hand, but if he can keep composing even with Lou Gehrig's, then I realised I had no excuse to stop playing.

Adam Richman. Come on, you know he inspires you too. He taught me that eating is awesome and that therefore you shouldn't limit yourself as much as people who check saturated fat levels on yoghurts or something. I'm not saying pig out all the time then die at forty from massive heart failure, but just enjoy good food and don't worry so much about the consequences. Unless you're diabetic. Then, y'know, do.

I'm sure he isn't the first person to say this kind of thing, but when I was around 13 14 I saw a documentary on Alan Moore and in it he talked about how while in school there were always better writers, better artists, but when school ended they all stopped and he kept working. that keeps me going in all my art that I do, not even just comic book stuff which I do do a little.

I can't choose just one so I'm going to go with three.
For Ideas I'm going to go with Aristotle and Thomas Aquinas. They have provided me with a working foundation for trying to understand this seemingly chaotic mess of existence.

For role models proper, I'm going to go with St. Francis of Assisi. Nothing phased this guy. He once had his eyes burned out of his head in order to get rid of a bad eye infection (medieval medicine lol) and was basically like "eh whatever I've got too many things to do, people to help, and life to enjoy to care."

He was always trying to help others and improve himself.

Elliott Smith inspired me to pick up an acoustic guitar and try to write music. It happened when I heard this song:

Lou Reed inspired me to live the hell out of my life, and that you might as well try things. You might not get another chance. This includes things Lou Reed was famous for doing.

Every member of my family inspired me to raise my children the exact opposite of how they did.
