Name One True Sequel That Was Acually Better Than The Original

This can be anything from a movie, to a book, to a game, but I just haven't found any sequels that were better than their originals.

And what I mean by a true sequel is that it continues a story, NOT like the Call Of Duty series where Call Of Duty 2 and Call of Duty 3 were both completely diferent.

Agreed, Aliens was the best one in my opinion.

I preferred Alien Versus Predator 2 (film) as well ( that's not saying much though). Also the game was way better than the one before.

Oh, and Terminator 2 was better than the first.

'The Mummy Returns' was better than 'The Mummy' in my opinion.

I'm going to have to respectfully disagree with you on that one.

On topic though, Dawn of the Dead was better than Night of the Living Dead in my opinion. I think Aliens has already been mentioned as well.

Gotta disagree and say the original is best and they steadily got worse.

As for a sequel better than the original I honestly can't think of any off the top of my head.

Gears of War 2 > Gears of War. The campaign feels more belivable in its' locations, and actions. But the multiplayer is where it is truely fixed. The Gnasher has more balance in it's actions and the introduction of the "Stopping Power" mechanic is an extremely welcome idea.

Another example from games would be Half Life 2 without a doubt. It gave so much more involvement to the story as it included all of City 17, not just the isolated incident at Black Mesa. Not to mention more variety in the game through the several driving sequences and the balance of gunplay to gravity gun puzzles.
