I would say Bourne and LOTR. But they arn't sequals, they are continuations of the story
Terminator 2 and Spiderman 2 on the other hand, beat the living shit outta their originals.
Gamewise: I can see DOW2 beating the original once it gets more races, Warcraft 3 (is it a sequal to warcraft 2? I dunno) but it was better than the once before it anyway, same with TF2, Doom 2, Diablo 2 and Neverwinter Nights 2

I'm still wondering where the cool sci-fi part of The Matrix went in the sequels...maybe if there was less Hugo Weaving filling the screen and less crap special effects they could have written a proper plot for the sequels.

It appears to me that the II is often the best film. Not always ofcourse.
After number 2 sequels usually go downhill fast.
For books there are no rules.
Games have gfx that improve all the time, so it depends on how much of a gfx-whore you are wether the sequel is better or not.

Pitch Black was awsome tbh, but as a whole Riddick is better aye. Pitch Black's story had way more potential.kaziard said:

This. Jak and Daxter is my favourite platform game series by far. they switch from the disney sponsored romp of jak1 to jak2 ripping shit up with claws and guns...then there is the wings and bullet time of jak3. Damn that series was good..Blackmagic1515 said:
