Some could argue Predator 2 was better then the first, but I consider them both to be equally as awesome.
AD&D Gold Box games got better as technology improved.
Spiderman 2
Legend of Drunken Master
The Protector (not technically a sequel, but I personally see it as Ong Bak 2)

Call of Duty World at war(They took the last game's sheer awesomeness, stuck zombies in it,and took it back to WW2, WHICH WE ARE SICK OF.)

so i guess that in fact Cod 4 > All other cod games, even WaW.

Also i am stupid and smell bad
Fixed it for you
At most, you broke it, ironically like call of duty 4.

Allow me to name the two most horrible things about call of duty 4 or as i like to call it, "Mario is missing 2".
1.The most assumptive storyline EVER, The Russians are the hardest people ever bred, Spetznaz are TRAINED not to feel physical pain, Not to break under pressure, any other country's soldier are so drugged with patriotism, they run out with boot-camp training and get killed. The only reason why America has won the wars it has fought is that it sends so many young and blinded disposable heroes into the killing machine, the bone marrow jams it up, and implodes.

As for the middle east part of it, i don't think a Russian "warlord"(if i may use this word) would team up with anyone.

2. Crippling multiplayer. They've traded good and methodical tactical gameplay online, for a Doom-Style run-and-gun, full of bugs, and a absolutely bogus style of a leveling/perk/kill-reward system. The maps in CoD3 were solid, they were large, they were they were fit for any game type, they featured varied terrains(flatland,high-ground, urban,ETC.), they were perfect. The call of duty 4 maps were terribly specific, there were some for high ground and narrow, others were flat with a little cover, others were just houses.

Now lets get to the perks, or the raping of legitimate war-style gameplay. Some do nothing whats-so-ever,others bend reality, and then there are just some for dicks. Why do you need to unlock every weapon, IT'S NOT STORYMODE! You shouldn't be able to get frustrated with inequality of a match FROM THE START! Otherwise it just isn't fair to people who just grabbed the game.Another thing that isn't fair is the kill-rewards. Who was the idiot to think this would be a good idea? If i need to tell you whats wrong with this, then your denser then most redwoods.

These two facts, combined with the sheer fact that they took the money with this game AND MADE ANOTHER IN ITS EXACT IMAGE tells me that modern warfare will the most sickening war game ever made to people who love the strategy of war.

Now to appease the gods that be, I thought "The Dark Knight" technically was a better sequel, as well as sliced bread.

I'm surprised no one has yet to mention the Back to the Future series... (if they have I'm sorry, but I didn't notice there were 9 pages of posts)

Also, another movie Michael j. Fox was in, Stuart Little, 2 was better, 3 was terrible

Fallout 2 was better than Fallout 1 big time. Actually Fallout 2 is just MORE Fallout.

In regards to films I would probably say 'Back to the Future part 2'.

But in what regards are you reffering to sequels? Are you on about episodic sequels where a follow up film was intended from the start in order to tell a full story; or are you reffering to sequels made prior to a success of the first film in order to make more money? As it is often the latter that produce the worst sequels...

Ratchet & Clank 2. Kept the humor and fun, and added new features that made the game that much more absorbing.
Awww yeah! I find R&C 2 to be the best in the series. R&C 3, while still great, fell a bit short for me with the mission based set up. Gladiator was the weakest that I have played, I definitely did not like the modding system, it was too easy to make guns of instant death.

Tools of Destruction has proven to be rather cool, but the upgrading system is still not as good as 2 & 3.

Sly 2 was better than sly cooper.

Team Fortress 2 has probably already been said.

Guitar hero 2 was better in my opinion.

And Civilization 3 was better than the original.

For a film Terminator 2: Judgment Day is better than the first all the way!

For games? Plenty, to many to count!

Are you serious?
Yes. Now I haven't played the original Fallouts or Red Alerts and barely any part of Morrowind, but those are some of my favorite games so shush.
Red alert 3 is donkey piss in comparison to Red Alert 2

LBA 2 > LBA 1
Yeah? Well it's fun to me, so stop being a fanboy.
You don't have to be a fan boy to like a game more than another.
