Name that anime

Ok, I don't usually watch anime. But right now I need a new series of something to watch.

So, here's a really half arsed description of the type of anime I'm looking for: Something in the road genre. What I mean is a programme in which a protagonist or protagonists have to embark on a journey and along the way stop off at different locations and they solve problems and adventure and all that jazz.

Yeah, that's about it. Oh, but it doesn't have to be endless, like Bleach or Naruto, they're impossible to get into becuase there's just so many episodes. You could never hope of ever seeing all of them unless you started watching them when they first appeared.

Also, there's one in particular that I was interested in, I can't remember the name but it was sci-fi and it had a guy in a red jacket with guns and blonde hair. It wasn't FMA, and it had a strange name, it might have been "Outlaw" or something. Could anyone tell me the name?

Wolf's Rain fits that description, and it's not endless like Bleach or Naruto, only 30 episodes.

I would say that the best one to match you description is Samurai Champloo. It is really good. Three random characters meet by a sort of chance and travel together to go find one character's father. Hilarity and ass-kickery ensues.
