Precisions.
My experience is with the TV series for the most part, but anytime someone mentions the words "unstoppable force" to me, I'm a little less interested. What can I say, I like my protagonists with a shred of pathos and at least a minimum of vulnerabilities. Otherwise, you might as well re-title the show as "Watch a Godmode Kick Ass".
Perhaps I should have clarified:
Alucard takes on more of an "outside force" mode as well, is more along the lines of what I was trying to say.
I.e. they don't really attempt to derive excitement/tension from the battles he partakes in, and do instead let other aspects be the focal points.

I have watched the TV series as well, and I really didn't like it. The OVAs are good though.
There are only 8 OVAs as of right now, and it's still ongoing. I really recommend you try watching it. In my opinion, the OVAs show that there isn't anything wrong with the concept of the series. The TV producers just failed completely at executing it.

More stuff about Alucard.
I'll have to check that out, then. I'm always up for giving a second chance to something that's received acclaim. I guess part of my resistance to it is that I'm kind of an objector to the last few years' worth of productions involving vampires. I understand that making the undead relatable is something that's been going on for over twenty years, but I prefer my vamps to be of the original Dracula or Nosferatu schools of thought. Which is to say, I like them somewhat more threatening than seductive - and flamboyance falls straight in with the sort of stuff that makes me groan.

So no, it won't be that much of a shock if I say I'm absolutely not a Twihard. I think the last modern vamps I really liked were those from the Blade series. Debauched yuppies who do indeed *look* good, but who'd sooner tear your throat out than try and be at a level with them poor, disadvantaged mortals. :)

Good to hear you'll give it a chance.
I can't guarantee you'll like it of course. You may still find Alucard somewhat flamboyant, but he certainly doesn't seem the type to have any compassion for the petty humans.

Three of them: Naruto, One Piece, and Bleach. I know that chances are, they will never stop making more but I started from the beginning with all of them and I am ending with all of them.
You know theyre mostly for kids right? Id say one piece is probably the most hyped amongst fans of shonen and bleach is the worst but still theyre shonen and focused for kids.
The mangas certainly are not. I have kind of left off on the anime dubs and instead, just reading the manga. So much more violent and so much more mature.
Not that much, blood here, drug use there but still teens see so much more.
