Ryan: Irish:Little King, Welsh: Laughing King, Some part of England: Little Laughing King, Another part of England: Mad Laughing King.

Last name: Scottish, but apparently the odd spelling indicates Nordic origins, or its a German word borrowed by the Saxons who moved north into Scotland. Means either Spear, Spear-like. More errata involved as many different branches decided to distinguish themselves.

If you don't have the prefix, 'Mc'blahblahblah. Then yes your last name would be germanic most likely.

"Grace, favour" for my middle name.
"Of the house of Brian" for my last. It's all quite Catholic in my opinion. Hence the hilarious irony.
