My dad named his dog Wobbles. It was one of those with a really long face (Basset hound I think) and was named that because it's face sagged a lot and wobbled all the time. I couldn't help but laugh and think that Wobbles was such a fantastic name.

I named my boy cat Loki (Norse trickster god) because he was a bastard of a kitten, who took joy in smacking my in my sleep and opening doors to get places he should (my doors sucked in my house at the time, you could open them without using the handle). And I named his sister Maya because it sounded like something one of those girls on that "My Super Sweet 16" show might be named, because she acts like a spoiled brat (but I love her, I swear).
And I plan on having a Husky to name him Fenrir and/or a Corgi to name him Ein, because of the obvious awesome factor.

I could never remember that my rodent was a guinea pig, so I called him General Patton. Same initials, you see.

Heh... reminds me, I had a dwarf hamster named Mario (and my sister had one that was originally named Luigi, but upon discovering that it was female, she renamed it Elektra). Gods, that was ages ago, though.

My cat's named after an old friend's cat, 'cause they look so bloody similar, they could just as well have been clones (but that's not really all that interesting, is it? Still, Tusse and Tussan sound kinda cute) - another friend I've long since lost contact with and I later dubbed her Kel'Tussan (after Kel'Thuzad) because, gods, can that cat be evil when she feels like it...

My cat, Kaitlin, is named after an actress (or maybe it was the name of the character she played) on an old show from when I was little. It was the only girl name I could think of that wasn't already the name of someone I knew. I was 7 or so at the time, and apparently had a very, very poor mind.

My last cat was named Munch, after impressionist painter Edvard Munch (1863-1944).

And after Detective John Munch from Law & Order:
