Wouldn't WikiLeaks have leaked this by now?
Nahh, they make business from leaking sensitive and embarassing secrets. A secret that will be known to everyone in just a few days brings no money, and might derail from their current controversy.

It would be interesting thought, to see in a few years Wikileaks as an indie news agency :)
Well, hadn't they leaked about 25000 or so reports on secret government business?

I doubt anyone's been able to read through all that shit yet, so who knows.

They announce that they are creating their Very Own Halo! And they actually are frantically searching for micro-organisms that we may call Covenant!

I'm sure we'll beat them this time around! ooorah!

OT:
Nasa announces the distribution, by shuttle ofcourse, of free copies of World of Warcraft: Cataclysm to every one in the trajectory of the shuttle! Get you free copy while it's still hot! Hot of the press(ure)!

*crosses finger* Pandora, Pandora, Pandora, Pandora, Pandora, Pandora!

In all seriousness though, i guess it is a little too much to hope for that this may actaully be a declation that we are not alone in the universe, rather than a talk aboutsome ancient space microbes found in a tiny chunck of rock.
Ah well, when it comes to good news from space, i'll take whatever i can get.

In all seriousness though, i guess it is a little too much to hope for that this is a declaration that we are not alone in the universe. This will probably be about some micro organisims or bacteria found fossilized inside of an asteroid fragment.
Still, when it comes to news from space, i'll take what i can get. Just as long as it isn't the ELS we should be fine.

*edit* oops, double post, sorry

Perhaps they've finally found an extra-solar Earth. If not the discovery of an extra-solar Earth, than my guess is along the lines of everyone else's: either basic, bacterial life or, the building blocks of such bacteria. Hopefully they didn't find a cell:

We would be doomed to endless dialog and power-charging/ energy gathering.

They found a giant space baby!
It was hiding behind the ISS the whole time!

That or its something like bacteria on Mars or an Earth like planet. Just as interesting but much less likely to give me nightmares...

If the extraterrestrial life is not this, then I'm significantly less interested.

Relax they just caught the Tardis on CCTV is all...

Personally I'm hoping for Space Rhino's to follow though, please let their be Space Rhino's.

Seriously though isn't this just going to be something like they found anouther planet 'capable' of hosting life or a bacteria on Mars?

they found a monolith orbiting saturn.... i think

its not that huge of a find, or they'd have presented immediately upon confirmation.
Confirmation of something massive takes a lot of time, months in some cases, lots of specialists around the world are consulted.

my guess is a insect of some kind found on an asteroid that isn't Carbon based, maybe Nitrogen......and the asteroid is headed towards Earth....Everyone get hold of Head and Shoulders!
EVOLUTION!

Loved that film :D

I hope it's some sort of impending alien invasion, life is boring these days.
