This could be awesome or another eyetoy and to be honest I'd love to play a shooter on this. Imagine online diving behind the coffee table for cover.

In all honesty this is going to fail or be the control interface for Xbox 3.

No infomation...?

Effectivly - project Natal is a new controller system for the xbox 360 - a bit like an Eyetoy you use you full body to move your avatar - it looks incredibly responsive and will work for games, the dashboard - it includes voice recognition, face recognition (to log in) and will work with all current and future Xbox 360's.

A very intresting feature was a painting feature in which the demo allowed the user to say the name of the colour they wanted to use and then drew the picture on the dashboard.

It seems good... But this could also be a horrible flop. Call me stupid but I prefer a controller for my games. They've proved to work really well so I'm just gonna say this. Why fix it when it's not broken?

I don't think it'll replace controllers - its just a new type of game - we'll probably see a number of downloadable games for it, whilst keeping the current controller.

The best part, in my opinion, is the face recognition.

Why invent the car when the wagon works?

I think it speaks for itself, honestly.
You make a good point. Touche. Improving upon controllers I suppose.

Oh yeah, most definitely. I really like the voice recognition.

Thank you for clarifying. I thought the OP had spelt Nepal wrong from the name of the thread.

Not everyone knows all this crap! Clarify stuff in future, or you won't have one.

Yeah, this is the same stuff I remember playing with in science museums 20 years ago. It's not really that exciting. We'll see if there's any good games for it.

Slight mixed messages in a presentation that highlighted collectable peripherals (Beatles Rock Band) and also talked about not reinventing the wheel, but getting rid of it all together (Natal)...

I think how well this works depends on how precise and responsive it is. Potentially this could be incredible fun- imagine playing online dodgeball with this.

Can we choose to use the controller as well?
Well the Dev Kits are apparently dropping in key partners offices today, so I guess we'll have to wait and see on that one, Strong Intelligent.
