Natal will officially be called Wave.

Wave goodbye to me ever buying it.
So the products name alone will stop you buying it? wow, get over yourself.

I think Natal was better, but Wave isn't terrible. What's terrible is that rumored price point. I'm not buying a motion camera for that much when I could get 2 or 3 games instead.

ugh no not Wave

keep it at Natal and there's a moderate chance I'll try it (buy? ehh money's saved for actual games)

I don't think it's a Microsoft fail, cuz it actually seems more appealing than Sony and Nintendo's offerings (which isn't that hard)

but if they do actually change the name, I'm not sure if it would be any worse than Nintendo going from the Revolution to the Wii
The products were never intended to be called Revolution/Natal though, those were just the company's internal project names for them.

The name Wave actually makes sense to me. We all know it is targetted at casual gamers, so what's wrong with a name that sounds like a toy? Obviously the casual audience doesn't follow the industry as closely as the people who frequent this website do so they have no idea what Natal is, nor would they be able to make a reasonable assumption based on it's name.

That being said, I'm still not interested in any motion control.

Well since this is a system that's probably aimed more at the casual gamer, they will more than likely pronounce it NAY-tul since they wont be clued-in enough to know it's *supposed* to be na-TAHL - the word NAY-tul probably wouldn't give great connotations to the general public (possibly). However, I never liked the name "Natal" anyway, it's just... crap.

I can't imagine them getting away with Wave. Google has the Google Wave, and they wouldn't take kindly to Microshit using that name.

I still reserve judgement until the product is actually out, in stores, with a collection of games. Names don't really mean much to me either, I've always known that the 'Xbox 360' and 'PS3' were pretty cheesy to begin with.

God this sounds like one of those shitty jokes with characters with stupid names your classmates told you.

"...and then Playstation Moved, then Xbox Waved, then Nintendo Wii'd!"

Not buying it regardless. I don't get what was wrong with Natal though, it seemed like a fine name.

Yeah, the wave is much dumber than ipad

Honestly, what's wrong with wave? At least it doesn't sound like pissing (wii) or a feminine hygiene product (ipad)

what would be a better name?

EDIT: I think this product is idiotic and useless, but the name isn't a problem in my opinion.

Yeah, naming something the "iPad" was a stroke of marketing genius.

Some of these kids today... Don't remember the Dolphin. Hell, they probably don't remember Project Reality either.
