Now I am imagining chip barms served in a small french cafe beset by Nazi's...

It is I Declerk.

Chips and Gravy chips and mushy peas, hmmmmm mushy peas.

I had the greatest mince and onion plate pie in history yeaterday, it was extremely nice.

Oh and I really shouldnt admit this but the nicest meat I have ever had was veal. I doubt I would eat it again as when I ate it I didnt understand what it was.

Cake based pornography sounds like a great title for a concept album. Hmmmm thinks
Well I'm making a prober meat and tater pie tomorrow with shorcrust pasty ont top, serve it the roper Lancashire way too with pickled beetroot. Apparently we're having people round for dinner tomorrow night so it's just an excuse for me to start drinking early. XD

EDIT: To Root; I've never been a big fan of mushy peas with anything else, but I do like them when I get fish and chips. Plenty salt and vinegar on them an all.
Thats very generous of you I shall be around about eight Ill bring the whine, Usually Im too cold or there are wolves after me.

Pickled beetroot. Oh and I am deeply impressed with a southerner mentioning mushy peas without decrying there very existence.

Pie and peas is a Bolton Staple it's delicious........

That and Black eyed peas.

Any good meats to recommend? I've had kangaroo, squid and venison.
Alligator is tasty. Saying things taste like chicken is a bit of a clichè, so I'll say it tastes like human. I assume you've had crab, which is also very good. Emu isn't half bad either.

Hawgh stole most of what I was going to say, but he forgot Medister. It's a thick, roughly-ground sausage thing (usually pork, but I've had beef), usually served with boiled potatoes, red cabbage (boiled or steamed) and a thick, brown gravy. The latter goes for a lot of Danish dishes.

Scotland has some pretty good dishes. Haggis is delicious, if you know what its made of it does not sound that delicious but as soon as you taste it it is gorgeous. I can not think of many others, fish n' chips (fries) is a delicious classic. We also have Rock Candy and Tablet (sort of like a block of fudge) if you have a sweet tooth. Scotland has great food on offer.
You took the words right out of my mouth.

Official:This thread has made me hungry.

I live in Australia so I don't have anything very special from where I live unless you include the Mc Oz burger.

However I do buy these things called Stroopie. There these Dutch Biscuits made out of two thin wafers with maple syrup in the middle. They taste like Heaven if it was converted into food form, I can't get enough of these things. I might go have one now... *drools*

You can actually eat the utensils in an ethiopian restaurant.
Similar in Mexico and Arabia, tortilla, pita, khubz are the utensils of choice.

In Good Old Blighty, we'd just call it a sandwich. ;)

Feng Huang, a little place in Hu Nan, specializes in smoking things. Not anything in particular, you just name an animal and they smoke it. They smoke pig faces, too. The pig faces have amiable little smiles, and they're displayed with cigarettes sticking out of their mouths. The smoked pork and whatnot is often served in spicy dishes. It's quite nice.

That, and kiwi liqour. It's quite sweet, considering how powerful it is. I had a fair bit.

When you are in Belgium you have to try waterkonijn. Which translates as water bunny but actually is a type of rat stewed with beer and mushrooms.

The specialty from my city Ghent is Gentse Waterzooi. Which is a stew of chicken, cream and vegetables.
