I'm torn between being able to speak other languages and being able to do a great Patrick Stewart impression, i bet i could make a living off of the latter.

Not being tone-deaf would be nice. I compensate via Fast Fourier Transforms of what I'm listening to.

I wish I had talent in guitar playing. And I mean real talent. I love playing guitar, but I suck at it. Simple things take me ages to practice. It's kind of been my dream to play in a small metal. Don't care about money or popularity. I just wish I could play songs together with a band. (Okay, not entirely true, being able to earn a living that way would be awesome too. :p)

People skills would be wonderful too. One of my friends has that talent. Everyone likes him and he can make friends pretty easily wherever he goes. I'm a bit jealous of that, but then again he has other things he's bad at.

Either natural drawing talent, natural talent towards music or natural math skills.

I really tried to play piano for a while, but I can't do it to save my life.

I wish my concentration and memory weren't so damned selective. Save within a few narrow topics, it becomes basically impossible to apply anything but a token mental effort, no matter how much I want to. It's unbelievably frustrating.

Any... Any at all T^T

I really wish I had more musical talent... or any artistic talent really :/

I can never seem to get anything I write, draw, "compose," right, or at least close enough. It makes it hard to say what I want to say in those formats :(

I also wish I was stronger in Mathematics. It was the only thing in school I ever really had any trouble with. Even with Hard work I just peter out at calc 1 :(

I don't really like Dr. Horrible, but I agree that the performances and entertainment value are well above the majority of other competing programmes, TV or webcast alike. I think the majority of current children's programming is pure shite, well beyond just those aired in the English language.

I would suffer from hay fever and all sorts of allergies (I'm allergic to everything), but I ignored that away once I decided to stop taking my medication.

I am short sighted and wore glasses half my life. I hate contacts. So I just stopped trying to focus anything outside my natural range, et voila, problem solved. No more headaches. No more feeling inferiour. Give me time to get up close and personal with any gun and I'll still merrily go for that bull's eye over 25 yards. I'm all up close and personal, if anything above that is required, I call it sniper stuff. Hunting is only half the fun if you don't give your prey a fair chance of goring you.

So, since I'm pretty perfect, I wish I was better at humility.

I wish I had more musical ability.
I can play guitar well enough but I can't sing at all or keep rhythm very well.

Which doesn't make sense, I should be musical, I've got loads of CDs!

"Oh I wish...."

Well if it is so damn important to you, then why don't you do something about it instead of wasting your time feeling sad that you weren't born with some innate "talent" for something specefic without actually having to work for it.

"Oh I wish I knew how to speak several languages"... then go study you lazy fool. I am so sick and tired of people who think that they aren't reasponsible for not being more active in their life.

Well, I really wish I had a natural talent for playing football. I wish I could play it rather than just watching it and simulating it with videogames

I agree 100%. If I would spend time being unhappy about not being able to do something instead of working on being able to do it, eventually, I'd be a very, very unhappy person. Seeing how impatient and emotional I am, I'd probably be dead. That shit can wait, but it won't. So...

Here, have a sincere thumbs up:

Tippy: If you really want to be able to sing - sing, sing, sing. Practice, sing until your throat hurts. Sing. Write songs. Sing about how you're happy when you're happy. Sing about how you're sad when you're sad. Take lessons. Learn how to sing without breaking things.

SING, ************.

Hmm. Not entirely sure, actually. Erm...hm...most of the things I used to want to be able to do I don't really care about anymore...maybe natural skill in being motivated to do things (that may or may not give me skills in certain things)? :p

That's why this thread is about natural talents you wish you had.

I could sing for twenty years straight and I could never ever sound anywhere near as good as NPH. I could learn pitch, rhythm, and all the technical stuff of singing but a good sounding voice is something you either have or you don't. Some have stated that they wish they were really good at sports; there are natural limitations that many have that don't allow them to do so (for example, that would be my second choice but physical issues literally stop me from being able to be as good as my brother at soccer. I physically can not be as good as my brother no matter how much work I put into it).

Other talents that have been listed in here are talents you COULD get...if you decided to devote the rest of your life to practicing it. Some have stated drawing but as an art major, I am well aware that some people just don't have the knack to do it (myself included; I'm an art major that can't draw, come get a picture!). It would be wonderful for them if they could spend two hours a day to practice at it so they can become good at it but that's not terribly realistic.

EDIT: Also, to be sure I'm perfectly clear, I am NOT saying that NPH has that voice just because he's naturally good at it. I am well aware that he has worked incredibly hard to get where he's at.

I wish I had a nice singing voice. You can practice singing in tune, but if your voice sounds terrible then there's not much you can do. Most things are really just a case of putting the work in (I'd love to be able to draw well, but not enough to put the time into learning to do so), but not that.

I guess I'd love to have a natural talent for bass playing, but I'd like to think I overcame not having one through practice.

Singing, like many things in this thread, can be trained. With practice, barring serious throat/lung issues, you could have a very good voice.

So Escapist friends; what natural talent do you wish you had? Do you wish you could run incredibly fast? Do you wish you could sing like I wish? Do you wish you had a quick wit? Do you wish that you could burp the entire alphabet? Do tell!
As for things I couldn't obtain even with time/money/motivation, I'd love to be really really smart. (Then again proper diet, exercise, good sleeping habits, and regular memory and other brain exercises will do a lot more than wishing)

I wish I had a nice, deep and soothing voice like Rucks from Bastion. I could just sit all day talking or narrating to myself.

Pretty much Lebron James.

Its getting more and more exhausting just rooting against this guy to fail.

I'm doing some overtime and pretending like I'm working when I decide that Dr Horrible's Sing-Along Blog would be an excellent way to pass the time.

For the five of you who haven't seen it, watch this. Seriously...it's long but I can guarantee that if you give it five minutes, you'll either love it like a normal person and watch it all or...well...I'm not sure what else you'd do for I've never met anyone who doesn't love it.

Anyway, the point of this thread is this; a specific song in the show is what got me thinking of this:

Listening to NPH sing and hitting those high notes made me really really really really REALLY wish that I could sing.

So Escapist friends; what natural talent do you wish you had? Do you wish you could run incredibly fast? Do you wish you could sing like I wish? Do you wish you had a quick wit? Do you wish that you could burp the entire alphabet? Do tell!
My parents didn't like Dr. Horrible, they laughed hysterically due to how horrid they thought the film was.

OT: Seeing as though I'm a hack who absolutely sucks at literally anything, I'd settle for any talent, no matter how useless.
