I'll give Aion this: it's stunningly beautiful. Maybe even a step ahead of today's PCs: it looked like even the trailer was chopping.

I played it when it first game out, like others have pointed out, the game just takes too long. Too much grind, dungeons sub bosses would only appear half the time, and then half the time wouldn't drop a single piece of "rare" loot, so your group left the half hour dungeon with a very empty handed feeling in spite of successfully one-shotting everything. The fortress mini-dungeon idea was kinda neat, but like every 2 faction cliche game, one tends to get outnumbered and dwindle out on the server when these reward mechanics effectively mean persistent shutout for the losing side. I'm not ashamed to say I prefer WOW. I'd rather do quests that change up the enemies and story every 15-30 minutes, instead of grinding on MuMu ninjas for an hour to get another bar of xp.
