I searched for this and didn't find anything so here i go.

Have you ever had a near death experience?

Mine is, i was at a pool party and i was in the part of the pool that barely covered me, i can fairly float and swim. A friend of mine, wich had a few beers, came and hugged me so i sank and stood on the bottom of the pool with the water covering me. He's taller than i am so he didn't noticed. I started to struggle traying to punch and pinch him but under water you cant barely punch. I remember I tought, "This is it, this is as far as im going to make it." the moment a tought this my friend, miraculously/coincidentailly, let me go and went some other place. As I could I swimmed to the pool's edge swallowing water and all. After i recovered i looked around and realized that no one even noticed.

I told this story to my friend time later and he was "Really!? I don't remember".

I once nearly skied over a cliff.

This was the first time I'd ever gone skiing, for the record. Basically, I overbalanced and fell over backwards, but my skis were still flat on the ground. I was still skiing forwards pretty fast, but since I was lying on my back I had no control over where I was going. I did manage to get back upright, and immediately stopped because I was (understandably, I think) having a panic attack. It was then that I looked around and saw the edge of a cliff about 10 metres away.

During a knife fight I almost died from blood loss. I think that I actually did for a minute or so. Ah the memories.

I've wrestled alligators before....... Or so I say.

I've cracked my head open on the pavement before after I pressed the wrong brakes on my bike. I was told that blood was everywhere. Luckily, people were there with me.

*shrugs* possibly. I've had people going too fast in cars and nearly running me over, that's probably the closest thing.

I drowned at the age of 4. My blood flow had stopped for so long I was completely white.

Safe now though, and no lasting effects...I think...

Falls and the usual junk have almost killed me, the one that pops to mind is falling off a skip while playing tig, yes we had little else to do >.> but after barely catching the side of the skip I looked down to see alot of big bits of broken glass and something that I can't bare to identify, because it didn't look like most substances I've seen before. After getting back to the rest of the group we found that the smallest bit of glass was about 5 inches big and would have done alot of damage so I wouldn't have pulled through that one o_O

My appendix burst and it caused sepsis, its hurt like hell. When I finally went into the emergency room the doctor said that if I would have waited a few more days to go in I would have certainly died.

Thats the only near death experience I can think of.

Fell into hole underwater and nearly drowned.
Nearly stepped on a few rattlesnakes.
Been hit by cars a few times.
Been electrocuted twice.
All the muscles in my body started tensing up and if the tension had reached my heart it would have exploded.

I visited alaska and fell under a sheet of ice and nearly drowned with about a quarter-inch of ice between me and freedom, Luckily our guide had steel-tipped boots on.

at the age of around 7 inearly died from a combination of an asthma attack, an allergic reaction to cats, and (although only mildly) hay fever. at the time, it was not known that i was affected by all of these, and those that were known about were thought to be milder then they were.

i was taken to hospital and had to be placed on special breathing apparatus.

it was lucky that my mum (i think it was her anyway) came into the room when she did, or else i would have died of this during the night.

My friends comment on this for me a lot. I have terrible luck, but great luck. Like, I get pushed to near death by some horribly unfortunate circumstance, then snatched away at the last second by something usually very lucky. Like, for example, I took a spill down a very narrow staircase when I was young, not even old enough to be walking. Would have killed me, but I had a craniosynostosis helmet on. I have a handful of these stories.

Most of these things aren't the kind of thing that's cool to hear about, just 'well, I would have died if x happened', but I did attempt suicide when I was 16, or 17, I forget the exact age. I took a hell of a lot of aspirin, that stuff cooks your insides, not pleasant way to go. You literally bleed to death internally, pain overpowered the sleep medication, but not all of the drowsiness. I can't put the feeling to words, it was dying, I guess. I guess the only way to describe it is it felt like dying.

Apparently I died for ten seconds on the operating table once, not that I really experienced it per se, but I guess that qualifies.

Wow, everyone seems to have nearly died but me. I don't know whether to feel lucky or left out.

Closest thing I've got is falling out of a tree when I was about seven. Nearly broke my leg, but that's all. Also, falling off of a motor-scooter (yeah, laugh) moving at at least 20 MPH wasn't pleasant either.

You know Minibuses with the slidey doors? Right, one time a group of us went Golfing. On the way back, I couldn't close the door properly. The driver told me to leave the door open.

It turned out he'd planned to start, brake suddenly, and the momentum would shut the door.

I didn't realise this, and when the bus started, I leant over to grab my bag. the door came within inches of my head before I leant up. Damn near beheaded me

I tripped while doing work on my cottage, and when I hit the floor, I look to my left. There was an upright nail on the floor for some reason. If I had been a couple centimeters to the left I would have gotten it right through my forehead.
