Hey y'all.

So its like this, me and a friend completed the Portal 2 co op earlier today and have been snooping around looking for another decent co op game.

Looking for a PC game, co op over the intranets, not split screen and err preferably with teamwork (also would be great if its on steam)?

so Escapists, can you think of any games that fit those specifications?

I will set you on fire if you suggest Army of Two

Borderlands is pretty good, there's not really any team work, but it's quite fun on co-op, Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 are fun co-op games too and feature a lot of team work.
Alternatively there is Alien Swarm, which is free on Steam, it's a little short though.

Yeah, the Left 4 Dead games can be pretty fun for co-op, though it is probably better if you have 4 people (or two teams of 4 if you're going for VS matches), as chances are the bots will annoy you with their incompetence pretty quickly. Also it isn't exactly heavily story oriented and might feel somewhat repetitive if you are looking for a lot of map variety (though there are plenty of decent custom maps being made all the time). The variety in gameplay usually makes up for these shortcomings though.

Looking through mt steam list i found:

Darkspore
Magicka
Saints Row 2
Terraria
Two Worlds 2.

Also if you both have Half-life 2, then try getting the free mod Zombie Master, its old, dated and there arent all that many servers left, but its a VERY fun experience.

The new Shogun Total War has a co-op mode. But your probably going to need a lot of time on your hands.

Fable 3 just came out for PC, I think the entire story can be played in co-op.

Saints Row 2 has co-op as well, although it runs like shit on PC, or it did at least for me.

Serious Sam HD, whilst short, has co-op. It's just a giant clusterfuck, but it's fun at least.

The LEGO games are nice to play in co-op, I'd recommend LEGO: Star Wars.

Guild Wars is a lot of fun when you're playing it with someone you know, there's a lot of content for your money there.

Dead Rising 2 might be an option, although I've heard it isn't too great on PC.

The above games (apart from Guild Wars) don't really require much teamwork, they do benefit a lot from co-op though.

Left 4 Dead(2)?
you could also wait for the free DLC
also they released a mod that makes HL2 co-op so if you both have it might be worth it (haven,t played it yet)

Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War II.

The Last Stand mode is really fun to play with friends and requires teamwork and tactics to get through.

It has its similarities to Minecraft, in the way how there's randomly generated worlds, there's no set story or way how to play the game, and the fun is leveling up your equipment and making an awesome house.

However, Terraria is still different. There's NPCs, boss battles, more monsters and items, different way to play, and the combat is pretty different (in the fact that it's actually good).

If you like a multiplayer sidescroller, get it, since it's only ten bucks, but I think it will never hold my attention like Minecraft does.

Borderlands is indeed pretty fun and I quite enjoyed my first playthrough with my buddy, THAT SAID

After my first play though I was ready to be done with the game primarily because of the absolute lack of balancing coupled with the unsatisfactory ending.

Now I know the game wasn't a heavily pvp oriented game or anything but when my buddy playing the sniper could obliterate me and most enemies in a couple shots at incredible range and my character, the chick (Siren?), had worthless melee (I thought it'd be decent if there were talents for it, which there are) and had to close to near melee range to kill something with my SMGs and he still killed it faster... it was a little upsetting.
