(Sigh) I really didn't want to do this but I am left with no option. Now I must rely on my Escapist brethren.

I have recently finished few games that required maybe 2 or 3 hours in a few days to complete and GTA IV 100% (As I couldn't do anything else) and I find myself looking for a new game so I thought Fallout 3 maybe. I went to 5 separate places where I can rent games to try before I buy and none of them had it. However all over the place are copies to purchase. But I just don't know whether or not I want it. I played Oblivion and found it ok. I play large amounts RPG's and FPS. I see myself as a very well rounded videogame player but for some reason there is something about Fallout 3 that has me staring at the Box and then leaving the store rather than buying it. It's not that I am put off something just feels...different about it.

I had been searching for a rentable copy for days hoping I would not have to get more opinions from here. But I have found The Escapist able to solve my gaming problems a few other times so here is my question.

Is Fallout 3 a good new game to pick up?

Fallout 3 is definite. As for other games, I don't know which console you are using, or are you on PC?

I'd say yes then again I'm a huge sucker for post apocalyptic scenarios, combine that with an RPG and well... just buy it.

fallout 3 is amazing, in my opinion, you see all the scores on websites like IGN or Gamespot that say 9.5/10 and trust me, they mean it. It is filled with mystery and i love the fact that if you can see a small farmhouse over the horizon, you CAN go there and see what is going on. So in my opinion, yes, you should have bought it already instead of waiting until now xD

Not worth it if you have a job (hehe). Seriously though, when you get the urge to drink an ice-cold bottle of Coca Cola while playing it, you'll know Fallout 3 is in your blood. And you're probably in it for the long haul.

Fallout 3 is a great game to have. What could be better than sneaking around and punping raiders full of bullets to the tune of some classy music? (Answers may vary, but I find that such a thing in the game has definite style.) You will want this game.

I reccommend gamefly. It lets you keep it for as long as you want, and you return it once you are satisfied. then just rerent it if you have another f3 craving.

Same here, I liked the brown wasteland.

Get it. Now.

I love the Deathclaw gauntlet from that game so much. Ask Spartan Bannana, I've gone to randomly yelling "Eagle Clawwwwww".

I was the same way... I would always see the game on shelves and to me it just looked... boring.

But after trying it I would highly recommend it.
