I, like many people here, eagerly await the release of mass effect 2. Unfortunately, it's almost an entire month away, and I have no new games to tide me over until January 26th. What game should I get in the meantime? Here are the requirements:

It has to be for xbox 360.
It has to be under 30 dollars, maybe a bit more if it's REALLY good.
It could be a nice RPG, or just a cheap, quick action game that you don't have to think about too much.
I beat games quickly, keep that in mind.

I was thinking of maybe IL-2 Sturmovik or Dragon Age, but the combat in dragon age doesn't seem very interactive to me, so please convince me that it isn't more than just selecting an enemy and triggering abilities.

Edit: Also, the best computer I have is an acer netbook. Sad face.

DRAGON AGE. Dragon Age is fucking great in my opinion - and the combat is very interactive. It is mostly composed of triggering abilities, but trust me when I say if you don't put thought into the ones you select and select them frequently, you're going to get your ass handed to you on a silver platter.

I feel your pain, I'm so hankering for a slice of that ME2 pie.

Sorry, but there's no way you're going to get ALL your criteria satisfied. But I don't own or play XBOX 360, so who am I to say that.

You could also try Gears of War 2? The GOTY edition is especially cheap (Saw it on gameplay.co.uk for 15 pounds) and multiplayer is a lot of grinding.. if that's what you want? =P

DAOs combat sucks, and the enemies don't respawn.
Who thougt that was a good idea for an RPG!?

OP:Brutal Legend, its short if you plow through the main campaign, longer for side missions and playing with a buddy against the AI is a blast.
I have it. And playing through the main story and all of the side missions, plus finding all of the motor forges and legends, took me around 13 hours. But I have been meaning to replay it on brutal difficulty.

Dude if you think you like rpgs and complain about selecting an enemy and triggering abilities then you have no idea what a real rpg is! Go play final fantasy, go play diablo, go play wow or any real rpg and learn what the hell it is that you want to play!

If you want to get Dragon Age, you should seriously think about getting it for the PC. The mods seriously make the game so much better and partially fix the somewhat boring combat.

I know what an RPG is, thank you. My favourite games are fallout 3 and mass effect. I just like it when the combat in a game is a little more involved. There's a reason I've never played any of the "real RPGs" you just mentioned.

i don't mean to be a troll i just find it silly that an rpg fan could go without playing something that didn't have mindless shooting.
sorry

Only game I miss from my 360 days was Crackdown. If you haven't played that, give it a go as it is incredibly cheap and will last you long enough till ME2 is released and you wouldn't have spent much cash.
I konw it isn't an RPG but it is fun ;)
