Need advice; Looking for a super party based RPG

Hey fellow escapists,
I'm lookin for an awesome party based rpg to play,
a long the lines of Baldur's gate or Dungeon siege,
or the old might and magic games.

any ideas?

Icewind dale 1 & 2
Might an Magic VI - IX
Planescape: Torment
Fallout 1,2,Tactics
Dungeon siege
A farewell to dragons.. wtf?

It would help if you told us what you've played already, and what size of a party is sufficient for you.

At any rate knights of the old republic is superb if you haven't already played it.

Like what More Lemon Pledge said, only include its sequel too. And if you could get some people to get together for Diablo II, its party system is good too. Although, the more you have the harder it can get...I think at least.

When you say party based, do you mean characterization-wise, or combat-wise? Its an important distinction.

At any rate, most JRPGS are completely party-based in both regards, but looking at the examples you posted I'm pretty sure that isn't what you are looking for.
