Ok, you know that sidequest where you have to kill 'Skagzilla'? How do I easily kill this beast? Should I wait until I'm past my current level (22 or 23), what weapons should I use, should I try to kill it w/ another guy? Agh! I barely dented him the last time I tried and I kept shooting him in his open mouth w/ a rocket launcher & my uber awesome electric shotgun. (oh and if it matters, I'm the Siren.)

Just keep shooting at it. It's really the only strategy, considering it's massive amount of health.

I haven't fought him as the Siren yet, but I did it twice with the Soldier, once with a friend as the Hunter.

Check the quest difficulty. It will have a level recommendation and that number is lower then your current level then you should be fine. If you are lower then just do a few of other sidequests until you level up more.

Also, I personally hate Rocket Launchers, unless you have a high proficiency with them don't even bother using them. Use the weapons you are most proficient with and PhaseWalk often.

That's the only advice I can give you. Try playing it with a buddy or something, that might help too.

Sorry to say, but there is no strategy in Borderlands.

When you die, they should have a message saying "You need to shoot more."

It has tons of health no matter how good you are, me and some guy fought it again, first playthrough, at like level 40 and it still took a couple minutes of blasting to drop it.

Also, as a fellow siren, I'd reccomend using SMGs more. Why take one shot at a critical hit with a rocket launcher when you can get 20?

And I remember fire being pretty effective, if you can find anything.

Against a Skag acid weapons are the best, it does more damage to the armoured parts.
If you don't have one of thoes a Rocket Launcher or Revolver shot when they open their mouth is good.

Or if you are a brick, like me, just go into berserk and tear it a new one. Hitting it in the back, not it's armoured front.

Shotguns to the open mouth did it for me. A fire. Lots and lots of fire. Shock weapnos and explosives don't seem to do a whole lot to him though.

Solo'd him around 23 or so personally, using mostly the SMG and Shotgun-to-the-Face stragegy. Fire and Corrosion are your best bets against Skagz of all sorts.

Your choice of weapons doesn't help. Rocket launchers aren't that great and electric weapons don't work so well against flesh. I used acid smg's, machine guns and shotguns against him. Be patient. Just keep running away until he stops to fire his mouth beam thing, then go full auto into its open mouth for lots of critical damage.

try resetting the skills and this works well for me 5 points in Deva, 5 points in inner glow, 5 points in hard to get, 3 points quick silver and and use phase walk to heal your self, dodge his attacks, and shoot like crazy.

Keep shooting and dont stop moving. Stay away from its head, except for when it roars, in which case shoot it in the gob for extra damage. Corrosive weapons also work well on Skags.

Well, the siren is good w/ elemental weapons. Right? So so grab a gun either from marcus' store or find one that does corrosive damage. Elder skags, adult skags, and Skagzilla all have extra thick skin on their head and shoulders. or better yet, Do you have a 360? if so, type in my name as it is on this reply. I'm looking for someone to play that game with.

It's just like a regular Skag but with a lot of health. How about get a full party and run a lot. I did it by myself but I had a semi-automatic x4 blast 12 clip shotgun with 77x7 damage so he was pretty easy in my opinion.

Sorry, I can't. I don't have a gold subscription at the moment.

I'm not at this point of the game yet, but I've always defeated single Skags with one method... beating them to death.

It sounds bizarre, but you can run around some skags quicker than they can turn, while knifing them in their unprotected areas. By the sound of things, thats going to take a long time to manage, but you can do it pretty much indefinitely as long as you avoid its head. Even then, you should be able to take the occasional clawing, and if you have a good shield and health regeneration, its a matter of attrition.

Disclaimer: I'm not at that point in the game yet, so I'm aware that everything I just said may be completely useless. And of course this tactic is hopeless if there are other skags trying to attack you.

I beat Skagzilla today whilst playing co-op as the Hunter, while he was playing as the Soldier. The Bloodwing had a fire augment, and I just shot it in the mouth when it was shooting its laser or when it was in mid-air, although the latter is a bit risky

I've beat Skagzilla on playthrough 1 and 2 as a hunter, and once as a soldier. Yes, he's got a lot of hitpoints, but he's actually a lot easier than lots of the other arena-type fights.

He's reasonably easy to stay away from, except when he charges, and there's no other enemies to keep you from running like hell until your shield recharches, so just stay alive as your first priority, be patient, and then chip away at him the best you can.

Here's some points of strategy:

- Circle strafing is key. Keep moving away from him and to the left or right while facing him and shooting at him. If you always are moving to the left and away, you'll rarely be in front of his mouth when he roars and can get a couple criticals that way.

- Acid is best, fire is second best, most important is just high damage numbers.

- It's very possible to run out of ammo on your highest damage weapon, so have a couple you can switch between, at least. High fire rate sniper rifles are great, so are machine guns... both allow you to stay away as you wear him down.

- Don't wait for mouth shots. Try and avoid his shoulders and go for his legs and back, you'll do a lot more damage that way.
