Ive been itching for a good racer for my PS3 and of course, like everyone else, have been waiting for GT5. On whim I downloaded the new Hot Pursuit demo and totally love it! Upon loading into it I noticed it was made by Criterion who made Burnout3 the last racer I really enjoyed.

I am wondering if this is as good as it looks will it impact GT5 sales, because if is that good.. and man i loved the first Hot Pursuit in the late 90s. I may get NFS over GT5.. thinking it can hold my racing fix... and the cop and robber game mode is just so much fun!

I am so glad NFS got away from those lame-ass drifting, go cart hondas and shit that suck ass and went back to almost its roots!

EA annoyed the piss out of me twice with this demo: First, by playing a long unskippable trailer prior to letting me play the demo, and second by locking out one of the two events because I have no friends who have played the demo. I'm someone who could not care less about online features and multiplayer, so that indicates to me that this game will not be friendly toward my tastes.

I played it on teh PS2 way back in teh day and it was awesome.

If i had a PS3 and liked racing games I would totally think about getting it.

Yeah I also liked this demo, but I always prefer arcade racers over simulations. You should decide for yourself, but is it worth getting this over GT5 after waiting for so long?

I tried the demo but found it boring. I did kinda like that it went back to it's roots of just high speed chase/races but the car controls feel awkward. It doesn't have the smooth, and high speed feel of say, the underground line. Instead has a slow and stiff feeling to it like if your car is just driving on it's back wheels. The cop chasing was a bit fun, but seems like it'll be more annoying later because of it's driving style. I'll prob just gamefly it first, then decide if I wanna buy it, I've been looking for a good racing game but this one seems like another pro street. Something you'll play for a couple hrs then get bored/annoyed and not wanna bother again.
The interface and menu's was also god awful.

I just loaded up another account on my PS3 started the demo and it unlocked it, EA likes to have the "recomend the game to friends for a bonus" thing - but im used to it by now.

Tried Burnout Revenge? It's like Burnout 3, but more [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TheSameButMore].
