Ask yourself; do you want to pay money for a boring game with no skill requirement that is run by the annoyingly obsessive players with no lives?

Okay then, the general consensus is that I should start playing again. Now the problem I had with most of the races is that one or both of first 2 areas are too dark are gloomy. Which is a race which starts in a bright area, and goes to a bright second area?
Orcs, Trolls and Tauren for the Horde, Humans, Gnomes and Dwarves for the Alliance.

As much of an Alliance player as I am, I'd suggest going for Mulgore (the Tauren starting area), just because it's the most visually spectacular.

Well that really depends. You better asking in the WoW forums than here, where alot of people seem to be hostile to WoW and it's players.
The WoW forum is full of idiots. Avoid it.
Extremely true.

As far as MMO's go, WoW used to be my favorite until they sugar coated all of the content so that Blizzard's core demographic of 6-12 year old kids could deck out their elves in epic gear.

Embittered? Slightly. Anyway. For some reason I keep buying game cards, and all I really do is hop back and forth over that chasm between the auction house and the bank in Ironforge and talk to my guildmates.

From a social aspect, WoW is a great game. You can have a lot of fun screwing around and starting wars. As far as content goes, though, the game died when they slashed raid numbers and removed the old honor system.

Tauren. They start off in lush, rolling fields and then move on to the barrens. It's bright and they live basically like Native Americans. So it's got that whole Native American spiritualism and you really learn to respect the Tauren and their balance with Nature.

But to look at it purely from gameplay, it's probably the easiest starting zone. And there's no obstructing buildings or cliffs throughout the zone so you can run straight from one area to the other without running around anything.

This is as far as you needed to go.

Tauren have got a pretty cool starting zones. Or Blood Elves, or Humans. Depends on what you prefer.

If you only got to level 25 then there is a LOT of quality content for you to digest.

I do like all the people chiming in with their opinion on why WoW sucks, or how it's a waste of money. He wanted to know what the game's got to offer, not the subscription cost, it's never bloody changed!

I've been off it for a few months 'cos i've played it to death, and buying 2 second hand games a month to kill the time, spending about £25 a month on console games. With WoW you can easily JUST play that for £9 a month. If you like to game, it saves you a fortune.

And I refuse to believe anyone can sit there and play Guild Wars for that long. (Emperor knows you can't play WAR for that long, yeesh!)

The starting zone thing seems like a bigger deal that it is. When I was starting I chose my first character (a tauren as it turns out) based on which starting zone I liked best, but really, the starting zones only make up a tiny percentage of the time you play on your character. Choose a class, and then choose whichever race looks best with it. Starting zones are for a few hours, a class is for life.

I'd reccommend selecting one character and leveling that one up, as the game really gets interesting when you start getting around level 50-60

I enjoy the grinding though. It's a good game to play whilst watching TV, but then there are difficult parts where you can team up with other people to succeed. I don't really see the problem with MMOs.

I guess if you pick it up now you can start leveling a character, experience what you can of wow right now so the next expansion will be even more epic.

My WoW account recently got hacked.
I got nothing on topic, I'm just bitching about that anywhere I can.
Here [http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Nathrezim&n=Jeffard] kiddies, look at the damage trojans and keyloggers can do when unchecked. Just a message from your friendly neighborhood bannana saying, routine virus checks are your friend : /.

OT: If you liked it up to level 25, you'll like the rest without a doubt, because most people hate that part of the game, I know I didn't really start liking it till level 40.

Ask yourself, do you think a game's playerbase enjoys getting insulted constantly?

EDIT: Also, if you're gonna do this, wait till the next expansion, it's going to drastically change the landscape of the old world content, and it looks really cool, so I'd wait for that. Also new class/race combinations so you can play what you really want.

I'm going to renew my sub then, and create a Gnome Warlock. Thank you for helping me make the decision.

I'm actually thinking of playing WoW again... it's pretty much the best MMO there is, everything else is either too old and boring or it's just a WoW ripoff.

I've played a lot of WoW but I've never really had a good time playing it, EVERY SINGLE GOD DAMN person who I have EVER met who has played WoW has at least 3 lvl 60s/70s/80s, I can't FRICKING stand it.

I made it to 72 as a Shaman. BC was a terrible Expansion, but WotLK was OK. The only reason I didn't make it past level 72, was because I couldn't play. Lots of things were going on at the time, and now I know that my guild's broken, and everyone who I still would know would be 80 already, and wouldn't be able to help me in any way.

If you are set to play an MMO and you haven't gotten past lvl 30 in WoW then there is really no reason to try anything else. The game has barely begun and unless you already find it a bore you shouldn't switch.
