Need help making a decision about WoW.

you haven't said what the decision was about but i'll assume it's about quitting wow alltogether.

i recommend quitting. it costs a lot of money (yes, not if you look at dollar/hour, but it's still quite a sum), and you're paying to do the same thing over and over again (killing stuff). if i wanted to do something mindnumbing over and over again, i'd get a job.

I can't agree with your assessment of WoW because you just described almost every game ever. It is worth cost to some people and just ask the millions of people playing right now if it is a waste of money. The game's greatest strength is changing how you kill over the course of the game and putting you in exciting locales to constanly test your strength.

I'd go ahead and pick it up again if I were you, since I was in your position a few months back. I experimented with a good many classes to see which one suited me and got the better half of them up to ~25 (with the exception of one 80 shaman that was actually a transfer from an old friend). Then, I got bored of the zones (if I have to see Ghostlands/Barrens one more time) and started roaming around for RP that didn't quite come (it's hard to come by sometimes, even on RP servers). But the first of August, this all changed. I decided to give it one last parting shot as I went to cancel the account, and hit 30 with my hunter. A couple weeks later, I discovered the joy of Arathi Basin and the new patch's PvP experience addon. In a nutshell, you can level doing something that isn't the same old thing. Er, well, it is the same thing, but it's not the same as 'run here, kill things, run back, get gold'. PvP is an ever-changing environment with different minds using different strategies each time.

So if you can learn to ignore twink ranting and have a taste for RP, then go ahead and try it out again. Hell, try it out anyway. It may redeem its shine for you. And if it doesn't, you can always go off and try something else. As for me, I've been gaining a level a day now. I just can't wait until I hit 51 so I can kick ass in AV. *sigh* The Basin'll have to do for now.

I don't play WoW, so I don't exactly know what all the hypes about. But you could always, I dunno, play Guild Wars. Isn't it just like WoW, only free?

Get one up to 80 and if you get bored ditch it till the next expansion and go crazy. The new expansion is completely changing the game for higher levels AND lower levels [Azeroth is going to be completely redone].

If you don't get a character to 80 and you just can't stand the grind, move onto another game and when the 3rd expansion's open beta starts, try again and see if leveling is easier or more interesting to you.

played it for 6 month then went back to City of Heroes. Reason was WoW got boring and i didnt like the community they took the game WAY to seriously,but most importantly in CoH they brought back the nazi group the "5th Column". Trust me there is nothing better than karate kicking a nazi in his face

If your are dedicated and interested in the endgame content, go for it. If you only have raised your chars to 25... hmm...

i would stay in, and try to level up 1 character only. the fun really begins in the higher levels. i myself have 7 in lvl 80 (no kidding!) and i still enjoy the game.

agreed, the game doesn't really start until lvl 30+ imo

Play when you feel like it up to level 80, enjoy the trip and stuff. if you get bored just pick it up later.

You can always decide to raid/pvp seriously when you get to max level and IMO the questing; especially in WotL is amazingly done.

When when you get there, get d3 and play monk with me

I got WoW 2 years ago, but haven't played it for about 18 months. I have been interested in playing it though, as the world seems to be constantly changing and being refined. I have the orignal game and the BC expansion, but only really got to level 25 with every race. Do you reckon there's enough content in game being added to pique m interest and hold it for a long time if renew my subscription, or should I just play another game or start a different MMO? Please put reasons for your answer.

I'd recommend you hold out until the next expac personally...

they're supposedly revamping the "old world" Azeroth, adding 2 more races (whee...), and random other upgrades to the "I'm not level 60 yet" content.

Personally, I'm done and finished with the game after playing since launch... but there should be enough crap in the game to keep anyone involved for a long enough period of time... especially if the xpac content promised is actually delivered.

Well, you did endure about 15 levels more than I did...

But still, avoid it. Get Team Fortress 2 or Guild Wars if you want an online RPG and play it till Diablo 3. Then switch to something you like more.
