It all depends what you want it for. What games? Max specs, or just enough to play? You can definitely set up a gaming rig for that money and get a fulfilling experience with it. Just remember though, the more you spend, the longer it'll last.ThreeDogsToaster said:So I recently decided that I wanted to build myself a gaming PC, as I want one and everyone I have talked to said it was a far better deal to build one yourself. I have a budget of about 800-900 USD for this thing and was wondering if any of you gaming folk here would be able to help me pick some parts to put this thing together with.
For around $900US you could get:
CPU: Intel® Core? i5-750 Quad Core Processor (8M Cache, 2.66 GHz) ($194)
Memory: G.SKILL 8GB (4 x 2GB) DDR III 1333 MHz ($200)
OS: Windows Vista 7 Home Premium 64Bit ($100)
MoBo: AsROCK P55DE3 ($75)
HDD: WD 500GB Serial ATA II Hard Disk Drive 300MBps 7200rpm ($80)
Graphics Card: VisionTek 1GB ATI Radeon HD5770 ($170)
Optical Drive: 22X Dual Layer DVD Rewriter ($30)
Basic case and PSU ($70)
You don't get into the crazy shit until you got over that $1k barrier.
