I hate to ask by my problem is a little to specific for google. I want to record only in game sound in Fraps but still want to use my mic. I have a separate program that I want to use to recored my skype conversations, but I don't want the sound to overlap.

Any help is appreciated, and comes with a free cookie.

You can stop it from recording your voice but if skype is open in the background with others talking, fraps will record that too. You either turn all the sound recording off or leave it at that.

I tried a test recording with my friend not to long ago, and it only recorded my voice. Anyways thanks for the help I'll try finding a way to dance around this problem. Maybe through clever editing.

Dead thread, I know but I was recently looking for a solution for this and the only one i can come up with is turning skype WAAAAAAAAY down in the mixer so you can here each other but making sure the game volume is loader than the skype call. It will talk a lot of altering to do, but you can probably make it work... either that or get your friend to record himself through Audacity and send it to you, then edit it all together, to overlay the skype conversation.

Actually got this figured out myself a while back. What I did was just turn off the game sound and used callGraph to recorded our skype conversation while recording the game. I could never get the Game sound and skype to work in sync.
