Having recently gotten my tax return I've decided to purchase myself a nice gaming mouse, preferably one that would be good for mmorpg's. So I figured I'd ask around here seeing how the number of PC gamers are quite high. So any good suggestion my fellow escapees.

I have a Logitech G600 and enjoy it greatly. It's not a super bells and whistles gaming mouse, it's just a comfortable and solid piece of hardware with the sort of extra buttons that you want/need for something like an MMO. Actually, that's pretty much the only thing I play on my PC that I actually use M/KB for and it works perfectly fine.

I'm going to put in a second vote for a Logitech G600, especially if you want it for MMOs. But if you want to keep your hotkeys strictly on your keyboard I use a G500s for pretty much everything that isn't an MMO. I looks alright, it's solid as hell and it's got a braided cable. As well as the usual on-the-fly DPI adjustment buttons and en extra one for locking and unlocking the scrollwheel. That and all the buttons are macro-friendly and Logitech's software is just pie to use.

The new 600 is getting a ton of great feedback, and it's super affordable for a high-dpi gaming mouse. Me personally, every time I pump up the DPI (even on shooters), as soon as I turn it down again I play better, so try to worry less about dpi and more about balance and dpi-adjusting mice, because shooters/MMOs do practically require it.

My personal favorite is the Mionix Naos now, however, simply for ergonomic grip and so much comfort. It houses all of your fingers and lays a little flatter than a Razer mouse, whose curve is pretty crazy after you stop using one. It has 8200 DPI (more than enough) and has DPI adjustment buttons, but only has two extra buttons. Since I use a Logitech gamepad and play few MMOs, it's perfect for me, as it feels just right in my palm. Does take getting used to though.

I've been looking at the logitech g502 proteus. It has 11 programmable buttons and it seems that logitech makes really good gamimng mice. Does it look good to you? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826104934

I have had the Logitech G400 for many years and it served me well. It has great DPI options, a couple of side buttons, on-the-fly DPI switching, and just a great feel really. It also lasted me 3 years before I damaged it by putting it in my backpack wrongly. So I was forced to replace it; I was really hesitant initially and considered just buying a G400. But I didn't want to spend a lot of money and the G400 is oddly expensive for a really old mouse. So I went with the Corsair Raptor M40... I'm so glad I did. It literally is the best mouse I have ever owned. It just feels so right. The texture is done right, all the 'gaming' elements are there including side buttons, dpi, dpi-switching, and it doesn't get dirty. I would definitely recommend either of these two as they are great mice.
