Try Magic Hat #9

Hoegaarden

and SweetWater 420

Edited for location; I live in southern U.S.
Take it from a Southerner, these are quite good.
Magic Hat #9 and SweetWater 420 are a bit dry, but they pack plenty of flavor. Hoegaarden is one of my favorites among Belgian wheat beers. It is crisp and refreshing. I love drinking it in on a hot summer day.

Gulden Draak is a delicious dark Belgian Beer if you can find it.

Same goes for Wynchwood Brewery's Hobgoblin Beer. It is a dark English Ale. Amazing beer. Try looking in a World Market or something.

I've heard a few people like Old Rasputin beer quite a lot. I've been meaning to try that one myself since it seems to be praised from everyone I know who's had it.

Belgian beers are the best beers out there. Not saying that because I'm from Belgium, but because it's fact ^^
I would disagree with you, I tend to disagree with people on general principle, but this statement happens to be empirically provable.

So much beer "knowledge" here, I am overwhelmed. And Tremens is your proof? Seriously, I was expecting Westy to be thrown, but not Tremens. Thanks for the good laugh.

not an aficionado of beer myself, If its not 100 proof or better than whats the point?
Some people grow up past the point of needing to get drunk all the time, I like their beer to have taste instead of mass marketed swill.

Ok, so I'm from Australia, so there's some great aussie gear here... (unsure of US availability)

NB: DO NOT judge us on Foster's we export that crap so we never have to drink it ourselves.

Cooper's Sparkling Ale
Boag's Premium Lager
Little Creatures Brewery (all their beers)
Beez Neez (honey beer)
Roger's

P.S. Cooper's Sparkling has won "Best Beer" numerous times, in Germany no less.

I know you wont be able to get hold of it but here goes.

There is a beer called "tactical nuclear penguin", it is the strongest beer in the world (it is also pretty pricey).

http://www.brewdog.com/tactical_nuclear_penguin

I think it's the most awesome name for anything ever!
Not anymore, there are 2 others that are stronger now. And it tasted awful.
I don't drink but I think it all tastes awful, it also means I don't keep up to date in the who's stronger race.

I only remember that one for the name, I can't even remember where I heard it.

La Fin du Mond (The End of the world) is a french beer that is supposed to be the best beer made. The name is rather fitting since the french making a plebeian beverage such as beer surely means the end of the world.

Personally my preference is for Guinness but that is obviously a big market label there. Check out their extra stout though if you have not.

Asahi is a fairly common import brand but one of the few I enjoy aside from Guinness.

Aside from the few beers that I enjoy I also like hard cider. Hornsby's is a standard and I prefer the amber, as noted by another user. The amber has a sort of beery champagne taste while the regular tastes almost exactly like apple juice. Woodchuck, either regular or amber, is very sweet tastes almost exactly like apple juice (not that thats bad). I hardly remember Strongbow so I guess I will rate it "unmemorable". Ace is rather dry and acidic.
My favourite cider was Hardcore: Black Label though I have been unable to find it in years now. Wyder's is another standard cider you will find though it tends to be expensive and tastes again much like juice though somewhat dry. Personally I would go for Hornsby's, typically cheaper, over Wyder's any day. On sweet beer like beverages you may also want to check out Lambic.

From the belgian beers,

tripel karmeliet
delirium tremens

Are two I find quite enjoyable/special. And I've tried a few.

They are quite easy to find, but then again I live in Belgium.
