The guitarist Slash (the guy from guns 'n roses) has a solo album out, you should try it it has some really diverse and very good songs on it. he made it with a lot of different artists Ozzy Osbourne, Iggy Pop, Dave Grohl, Fergie, Kid Rock.
M. Shadows of Avenged Sevenfold is in 'Nothing to Say.' Sorry, just felt that bothering to mention fergie and kid rock but ignoring him was a heinous thing indeed -.-
Not really, to be honest he's not that great
Compared to Fergie? Part of Black Eyed Peas, the group responsible for half the content-less shite we get inundated with.
Whaaaaaaat :|

Ah feck it im not even gonna argue. I'm going to move to scandinavia instead. Adieu!

Try The Fratellis! Epic band, always puts me in a good mood.
Haven't listened to them in a while, have they done any new stuff recently?

My taste is anything from indie to alternative rock to acoustic new wave or modern bluesy stuff.
That's pretty huge. The only thing I know a lot of from any of those genre's is Muse. Alt Rock? Their old stuff is amazing anyways. But I'm guessing you'd already heard of em, everyone seems to have these days...
Listen to some of Buckethead's slower songs (padmansana, soothsayer, electric tears) those might be more to your tastes.
Or... explore a whole new range of music? I got bored with a lot of mainstream metal and thrash so I moved onto stuff like cybergoth, industrial, steampunk, heavier/more extreme genres eg death metal, gothic rock, groove metal and also some other electronic stuff like Dubstep. Just figure out what new genres you might enjoy and have a look into em ^ ^. Maybe some more obscure genres of alt rock, or go back to older stuff and find some grunge, or move toward heavier rock, or go in a completely new direction entirely.

Buckethead remains my main suggestion, though.
Yeah i've heard of muse of course, I think I already have 2 or 3 of their albums, I'm not really that into metal and already have enough on in my collection but thanks anyway :)

I would say you might like Colour Revolt. You could probably check out any bands on the Fat Possum records lineup.

Alternative rock and indie eh?

Hmmm... well the best I can pull out of my box are these two songs which should hopefully convince you to be hooked regardless of whether or not it fit's your genre =D

You guys pretty got exactly the right type of music thanks :D

And I am actually a big fan of Gorillaz but haven't heard much of Plastic Beach yet thanks for reminding me :)

Daft Punk. I'm generally a classic/arena rock kind of guy, but I just love Daft Punk
I downloaded the Tron Legacy soundtrack they did last night, so far it's mostly background stuff so I'm a bit disappointed but who knows what the rest could be :)
And the other stuff they've done has always caught my interest.
I was going to say Daft Punk but genres so D=
Good to see that, Coldplay have some really good songs and so does Plastic Beach!

I don't particularly like the Black Eyed Peas but yeah, she's actually a very good singer.
Also, I'd argue that Avenged Sevenfold is also partly responsible "content-less shite"

Also, I just want to plug my 2 favourite albums of all time:

The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady - Charles Mingus
My favourite jazz album ever. Its just at the height of technical skill and creativity. You never know where the music is going to go, blistering solos come thick and fast, Mingus really knows how to use dissonance in a way to create tension without losing any of the listenability.

69 Love Songs - the Magnetic Fields
Exactly as it says on the tin. 3 hours of songs, all to do with love. This may sound horrible, but singer/songwriter Stephin Merrit takes the subject in pretty much every situation, from every perspective and in pretty much any genre. His lyrics are really sharp and he really knows how to find the balance between cynicism and true affection which means the album never comes off as either too sugary or bitter.
I am loving animal Arithmatic and Parachute thanks a lot :)
