Ok, so I just had foot surgery about an hour ago and I can't walk for the next two weeks. I need a few suggestions for a good PC title. Preferably something very long.

Games I like:
Anything strategy (C&C, Sins of a Solar Empire, etc.)
The Witcher
Fallout(s)
Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines
Galactic Civilizations 2
KotOR 1&2
Neverwinter Nights 1&2
Elder Scrolls 3&4
Mass Effect
Jade Empire

I do not care for shooters much at all, and I do not want to get into any MMO.

Thanks for taking the time to read. I'm looking forward to your suggestions!

Edit: Added more games and no MMO.

Anno 1404, light on the combat but heavy on the city building.

Edit: Oh right, there's also all the Total War games, I'd recommend "Medieval II" my personal favorite or "Empire" depends on what time period you prefer.

World of Warcraft.

It really is good, and you'll have plenty to do for a good while.

Fallout 3, but I warn you, you'll be playing it for a loooooong time if you haven't already.

Another suggestion, Guild Wars. If you're a seasoned MMO veteran, I really recommend you try it out (NOTE: it's much more fun if you have friends you can play it online with.)

While this games looks pretty cool, I refuse to buy anything with such stringent DRM built in. Spore's DRM killed my computer once before, and I don't want a repeat of that. Thanks though.

Get an emulator and play every final fantasy from 1-9.
Did that several times already actually.

Ok, I'll give that one a try, thanks.

Used to play, but I got extremely sick of Blizz changing the entire game with every patch.

That is officaly my new vision of hell...
Anyway, get Oblivion and Morrowind from the Elder Scrolls series, then mod the shit out of it.

Morrowind.

But find a bug fix, otherwise Bethesda's shoddy stability will drive you insane.
I've played through Morrowind about 12 times by now. Great suggestion though, definitely one of the best games ever created. Played Oblivion almost as much, but I like Morrowind better.

I have it on 360 (which is RRoD'd currently) and beat it several times already, thanks though.

Ya, I listed this one in my original post. I've beaten Fallout 3 a few times already. I also played Guild Wars for a few months. It was kinda an "MMO light." I'm trying to stay away from any online games right now as I can't stand the usual asshattery of the average gamer (read: raging 12 year olds).

How about the Baldur's Gate games?
Haven't played 'em before. How do they compare to Neverwinter Nights in terms of story and gameplay?

I've never played any, but I've only heard good things about them. The cutscenes are awesome too. I saw them on YouTube.

Well, I just had a friend of mine run this over to me and it doesn't work on my system. There's no sound and it crashes to desktop often. My rig far exceeds what is necessary to play this game on max settings too. Couldn't find any fixes either... damn.

I can't compare them to NwN since I only played the second one briefly and then left it on the shelf.
I can however say that the Baldur's gate series is awesome. I played the first one when I was...10 maybe? Since then I've just loved it. Most people would probably suggest the second one to be the better one, but I always had a fondness for the first, and played through it innumerable times. So try both out, and the expansions. It's made by Bioware as well, but can't guarantee you'll like it just because they made Mass Effect.
Another great game, that uses the Baldur's gate engine, is Planescape: Torment. It doesn't have the depth of combat that Baldur's gate offers, but the story is ace! Seriously great game as well.

Someone mentioned Rome:Total war. Damn i got hooked on that game, you should definitely try it since you have 2 weeks to waste! Prepare for massive armies and a huge campaign!

If you only played the first KotOR, pick up the second right away!

These games should give you a lot of hours to waste, they're all craving to be replayed once you've completed them as well! Have fun!

On a side note, damn I like your preference for games. Awesome games I tell you! If you love story, I'd suggest Planescape: Torment, though the other aspect of that game are lacking.

The pain medicine they gave me kicked in again and I've been asleep in my chair for the past few hours... sorry for the in-attentiveness.

Ok, I'll pick up Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 tonight. I tend to like anything by BioWare, so I'm sure it'll be great. Thanks for the help!

Too bad Total War isn't liking my system...
