yeah yeah its the holidays but i have a question any way since HP will be closed tomorrow and i want to go shopping on Sunday.
I have an HP pavilion p6503f and i wanna know if i can upgrade it. I took a look inside and in the slot where i assume its a PCE-E x16 has a stock Video card in it. Is it possible to take it out so i could put an upgraded video card in it. I also have established what kind of video card i am looking to buy so.
PLease get back to me soon and thank you ahead time

For further note HP is closed today and tomorrow so i cant ask them and they suck at returning emails.

Honestly, upgrading a stock computer isn't really the way to go. Starting a small but custom is probably a better bet.

Tell us the videocard you currently have and plan on getting so we can help you. A new PSU is most likely needed since stock builds really don't have good ones. Also, if you plan on upgrading your comp for better gaming, a new processor would be a great choice.

It's probably not worth it, but hey, money's tight.

HP uses pretty standard hardware, unlike Dell or Gateway. Look up the specs for the mainboard and go nuts.

for you sir i am currently using an a ATI radeon HD 5450 and i plan on getting a radion 5500 or geforce GTS 250. Note i dont need anything powerful since i will be using the card to only play World of Warcraft or League of legends, To me these two models seems pretty cheap and not super heavy on the computer.

Well Power Supplies are fairly cheap if you get a good deal. I got my 500W one for £40, and it was enough to upgrade my GPU.

As for your question upgrading a GPU is easy. Simply take out your current one, and put in the new one. Download and install the drivers and you should be good to go.

GTS 260 isn't that great of a card. For around the same price you can get a GTX 450, which is a much better deal and will run WoW better. This card specifically. [http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127527&cm_re=msi_450-_-14-127-527-_-Product] Now, you'll probably need a better PSU, but you can find some new deals on them. Since you want to play WoW better, WoW actually depends upon processing speed more than videocards for many of its objects, as I recently upgraded myself but learned I need a better processor to play better.

well i will hold off on the video card but my desktop is pretty recent, i have an AMD Athlon IIx4 635 processor hence a quad core. So i really don't think it is my processing power that is needed i honestly believe it's the video card slowing it down. But i might hold off till i know for sure.
