Yay you recommended Paprika and Perfect Blue!

From the anime you've already watched, obviously FMA brotherhood, but I would also recommend the Naku koro ni series (Higurashi no Naku koro ni, then Higurashi no naku koro ni kai, and finally Umineko no naku koro ni) and of course Darker than Black (it isn't as serious as the others, but it definately isn't comedy) and Claymore.

For less action-based anime, the best would be Lucky star. I won't mention anything about Evangelion since I'm sure other people are better qualified to explain the sequels and things.

Oh i watched End of Evangelion alright. I loved that i must say. Thanks for the list best get started.
Ahh, good. That movie is terrific. I also suggest watching the Rebuild movies if you haven't already. The first one is out and the second one is coming out on DVD in May. They're a brilliant retelling of NGE so far.
Aside from the re-casted Misato and Ritsuko, I'm really enjoying the Rebuild promos.
But are there any real substantial differences between 1.01 and 1.11, aside from the fixing of some lighting issues in 1.01?

You might be into Samurai Champloo or Death Note, OP. Sounds like you're an action fan.
I am a fan of the action but also love a damn good story and to have my brain melted be the time i've finished with it.

To try something different(good different), I'd go for Mushishi, it's about another form of life that came before animals plants and bacteria.

Something clever and very popular, Death Note, note for everyone but very clever in a psychological way.

I see you've seen FMA but have you seen FMA:brotherhood it's the same story told more from the mangas point of view. In my opinion better.

I've tried to avoid the big 3 (Naruto, Bleach, One piece) but if you haven't seen them you should at least check them out.

You would probably like the Gundam series although i haven't really got round to it it seems to be right up your alley.

And if you like a detective story try Detective Conan.

Gurren Lagann, To Aru Majutsu no Index, or (sequel - To Aru Kagaku no Railgun).
First one's supernatural and a mecha. Other two are supernatural

-- To Aru Kagaku no Railgun
Another good one is Soul Eater - Supernatural

You reminded me, I completely forgot to recommend Tokyo Godfathers. That was such a wonderful, hilarious movie.

I Take that back - only Ritsuko was replaced.
Misato just seems to be talking in a much more subdued pitch.

I'm actually quite interested to see how they pull off the design/characterization of that new pilot.
Well I've seen her design and from what I've read she's much more eccentric and happy than the rest of the cast; She doesn't show any signs of being depressed or anything. I'll have to wait till I see the movie before I can truly accept her as part of the cast though.

Isn't railgun like 90% fan service?
and...that's what To Aru Majutsu no Index is for?
And really, only the first couple episodes quite frankly are "90% fan service". It's got great action and a good plot. Any fan service is for the sole sake of comedy, too.

They are all quite young, so I would say a lot of that is fanservice... To be honest I've watched some of Toaru Majutsu no Index and it seemed to be a sort of anime you don't really have to think about, since it's just for mindless fun. There are quite alot of Shonen anime I would class like that though - but I don't think it means you should write them off.

I second this recommendation too, it was interesting and fun. I have never seen anything by Satoshi Kon that I haven't liked so far actually :)

Trigun, Cowboy Bebop (if you haven't seen it already), Darker Than Black, Baccano! and Sword of the Stranger are pretty good with action.
For character development and romance I recommend Bakemonogatari, Toradora, Clannad and Spice and Wolf.
Other stuff I can recommend are: Rozen Maiden (second season is way better than the first, imo), Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, Lucky Star, K-On (if you don't mind the moe moe), and Hayate The Combat Butler, and Seitokai no Ichizon.
The MUST watch from that list are: Baccano!, Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Bakemonogatari, Spice and Wolf and The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.

I suggest One Piece because I absolutely love it, plus there are a ton of episodes you can watch. They still are making new episodes too and it is about to get to a very awesome part. Also I would agree with everyone who has said Cowboy Bepop, I started watching it last week and it is great.

It's definitely not like some of the other ones that have been suggested, but Azumanga Daioh is pretty awesome, as long as you can get past a few high-pitched and hyper characters.

Also, this:

So just finished Neon Genesis, which i really enjoyed. But looking to watch something new so hoping you guys would be so kind as to help me out. Haven't been into anime all that long, I've watched Code Geass, FMA and Elfen lied so far so maybe something along those lines, but if ye have something totally different wouldn't mind that at all either.
Cheers for any help in my quest against boredom.
Go to Anime eater. They have lots, but Myspace (The JX player) has cut alot of the anime and therefore shorted the amount of anime that they posess.
