I can't trust myself with a computer, I always end up fucking it up somehow. Like recently, how I unknowingly and STUPIDLY downloaded a friggin' malware program on my brand new, 1 month old computer.SelectivelyEvil13 said:I remember vaguely hearing about this mod, so this is exciting news!
Oblivion is what made me buy a new computer a couple years ago because it killed my prior PC to run. Mods for the game are so good that I would actually pay for the user-made ones over some of the official ones ha ha!
With Oblivion and Morrowind, I found the modding quite user-friendly if you stick with just a few mods. I would recommend reading a few basic tutorials so you get the gist of everything and just stick with a few sites like TES Nexus and planeteldeerscrolls for the downloads. The worst that could happen is you would have to just reinstall the game and try to figure out where the mods conflicted (for example).Jumplion said:I get nervous when I fiddle around with my computer, so I have yet to do any extensive mod-downloading as of yet. If I get Oblivion for the PC then I might consider downloading it, but I'm always really nervous I'm going to fuck up my computer (yet again!) if I download something I don't know.
The game is fairly cheap on Steam, $20 the regular game (with Knights of The nine and Shivering Isles included), or you can get the "deluxe" edition for $25, it includes every single of the DLC available, including the infamous Horse Armor.Bladecatcher said:Yea...kinda regretting getting Oblivion on my 360 now. On the other hand, I doubt my system could run this or Oblivion decently. Either way, I may have to suck it up and see how much a copy of the pc version is nowadays. Or is obtaining it in the "less than legal" way alright if I already bought the game on another platform?
I can't blame you, I'm quite poor with a computer, especially when compared to many who regularly play PC games and understand most of the technical aspects. Surprisingly though, Oblivion and Morrowind are approachable enough. I honestly have no idea how in the hell I get by without arming my computer into a time-bomb some days, so that has to say something about the mod support for those games!Jumplion said:I can't trust myself with a computer, I always end up fucking it up somehow. Needless to say, I was [/headdesk]-ing myself up to a bloody pulp.
Yes, just run the executable after you install oblivion.Furious Styles said:You'll have to excuse, I'm fairly computer illiterate. If I download it now and buy oblivion later, can I install the mod when I've installed the game without re-downloading the mod? I will be buying a hard copy of it from amazon or somewhere.FlashHero said:Yes you need Oblivion installed...but if you have a normal edition it installs sperate to keep your other mods safe but if you have the steam version like me you have to have everything installed together and disable all your other mods..not that hard but it's worth it ive about an hour in and its fun.
Tamriel Rebuilt. I hear the Hammerfell project split from the Morrowind one though. And Who needs Oblivion anyway?icyneesan said:Now if we could just get all those countries around Cyrodiil to finally be completed like Hammerfall and the one thats all woods![]()
Silly. Everyone knows the only reason to buy Bethesda games is modding. Especially since Oblivion is a terrible, hateful game without them.thenumberthirteen said:I now regret buying the PS3 version. Well I I hadnt I would have probably never played the game. I don't usually mod my PC games.
Haha, so very, very true. I've been a mod-junkie for years now (First Modblivion and then Fallmod) and I've never looked back. I think the reason Bethesda make their games so visually bland is to give us modders something to do.Sebenko said:Silly. Everyone knows the only reason to buy Bethesda games is modding. C'mon, don't diss the TES series! What's so bad about them?Niccolo said:Haha, so very, very true. I've been a mod-junkie for years now (First Modblivion and then Fallmod) and I've never looked back. Tamriel Rebuilt is just making mainland Morrowind... also I think the Hammerfell project might have been discontinued.Sebenko said:Tamriel Rebuilt. I loved Oblivion to bits. Granted it glitches at the end of the Thieves guild questline and trapped me in a room, but I really enjoyed it. The reason I didn't get it for PC is because my laptop couldn't even run Morrowind. I only got a good enough PC a few months ago and I've got plenty of PC games to get through.Sebenko said:Silly. You get the (high quility) original voiceactors but a translated ui and textthenumberthirteen said:Actually a question that isn't answered in the article: You say an English translation. Does that mean the voices have been redone, or is it just the subtitles and UI?
