I have been rewatching all the Eva related stuff for a review and I came up with a theory of Eva 00,s sould
SPOILERS AHEAD!
It,s Naoka Akagi,s. Eva 00 is shown to attack Gendou (who Naoka hated) and seems to go berserk when during Rei,s activation experiment (Naoka hated Rei). Here is also why I don,t think its soulles or contains Rei I,s soul.
Why Unit 00 is not soulles
if 00 was soulles Rei would have had perfect control and 00 wouldn't have gone berserk.
Why it,s not Rei I
I,m assuming here you can,t copy a soul but even if its a copy of Rei in 00 the unit wouldn't have gone berserk. It also can,t be the mothers soul like in Eva 01/02 since Rei technically doesn't have a mother.
but I,m interested in the Escapists theories on this.
