Have you ever said something so nerdy you've instantly regretted it?

Yea, I saw Watchmen with a friend and kept pointing out the irritating differences from the book. I do it in all films though, make nerdy comments.

Before Flash CS4 came out I was explaining to my friend some of the new features involving the tweening system. Turned out he wasn't even listening. =(

Me and my mate once had a discussion on how we both grew up on Warcraft II. I felt incredibly nerdy after that.

I have regularly said "roflcoptor" after talking about something that is kinda funny but not really, just to add a sarcastic twist to it. Yeah, people don't usually respond well to that one...

Having an argument with a friend as to which formation for a guild is better for PVP on WAR ... My God that was sad.

My friend and I were waiting around before class started and he said "Final Fantasy is ok" and I yelled in a frenzy "FINAL FANTASY IS FUCKING INCREDIBLE!!!" Everyone just kinda looked at me sideways.

I once said "lol" in real life. I've never forgiven myself for it.
I say lol all the time, all though i do wear a top hat so people tend not too take me all too seriously anyway.

I'm pretty certain I've made some nerd-esque innuendo and I can recall regretting it immediately after i vomited those words from my mouth.
Ah, good times.

There is a restaurant on the academic side of campus called the Crossroads. My buddy asked me if I wanted to eat there for lunch. I said no way, the crossroads is under attack. I don't regret this at all.

We later found Mankrik's wife. Good times were had.

After my history teacer asked me how I knew about the anti pope I said:

Age of Empires 2 The Age of Kings, Barbarosa Campain

Teacher: O, so video games.

Ya, I should've said video games instead.

"Love is a human evolutionary behavior designed to attract and keep a mate."

In my defense, my teacher's prompt was "How would an alien describe love?" Most people talked about platonic love vs non-platonic love. I thought that those answers were too species-centric, and only understandable from the perspective of a person. Why the assumption that love is universal? Hence, my answer. I got laughed at, without a chance to explain. :(

I do find the whole thing funny now, though. :D

When I wen't to a Halloween 6th Form Party as Link, and tried to blend in amoungst the various slutty animal costumes.... and had this conversation with 80% of my year:
"What are you? Peter Pan?"
"No.... I'm Link from the Zelda series... Nintendo?"
"Peter Pan doesn't have a sword like that."
"That's because i'm Link... and it's the Master Sword..."
"There's no one called Link in Peter Pan."
"... I know."
"So are you Robin Hood?"
".... yes."

(EDIT: And another good one was when my English Lit teacher asked me to define 'irony', and I just quoted the Futurama episode 'The Devils Hands Are Idle Playthings' and said "the use of words expressing something other than their literal intention"... when I say 'said'... I sung it. I dropped English at the end of that year. :D

I can't remember any direct quotes of nerdy things I've said (Bahamut knows, I've said a lot of them), however, I have on several occasions responded to a very nerdy comment thusly: "I don't know what's the saddest: the fact that you said that, or the fact that I got it."

I'm adamant that my drama group use video games in our piece, I've planned a scene for us to do involving painting our shirts like PS3 controllers.

I was stood with some girls in my class who... aren't like me, you could say and they were saying how much they hate stupid people, so I chipped in, "Yeah! like when you're playing online? And they don't understand if they get a head shot, it'll improve their stats?"
They looked at me like I was a freak. Perhaps I should stick to talking about kittens and handbags.
