I'm trying really hard to come up with something "nerdy" I don't tell people... but I really can't! I am very open about my "nerdyness" and passion for games, even to the degree that I scare most of my co-workers.

I had a collegue once that never had visited my office and came in for a chat and was cut off by the sight of gaming posters, figures, collectables and papercrafts, he just stood there for a while and looked dumbfounded and finally pointed towards the framed picture of Alistair from dragon age on my desk and asks "don't you have a picture of your real boyfriend?".

I haven't seen him since o.0

so no.. I'm not very secretive about my fondess for games

I sometimes scare people with how well I do playing Jeopardy at home.

I'm pretty well-versed in the universes of Star Trek, Star Wars, StarCraft, the Wheel of Time, Harry Potter, and Lord of the Rings.

And My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.

I'm pretty sure I'd lose a few billion man-points if I told my friends that I've watched K-On!, Azumanga Daioh and the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya all the way through. I even watched all eight of those goddamn time loop episodes.

I like to play forluma De, and I have even carved and painted my own cars for the game... but I don't show anyone, who would think playing a racing car board game could be so fun, but it is! IT IS I TELL YOU!
Sir, you had me at "racing car board game". I must find out more.

OT: After getting disappointed that I didn't get the horrible Space Invaders clone for my TI-83+ in calculus class, I instead coded up a magic 8-ball program. And that code has a firm place in my memory.

...Right next to all of the Comedy Central stand-up specials I've been memorizing since second grade.

I'm probably the nerdiest out of all of my friends so I can't really find anything that I wouldn't want them to know... Though at one point I didn't want my friends to know just how much anime I watched... Couldn't be helped when they'd randomly walk in with me watching something like Excel Saga, Dokuro-chan, or Goldenboy... Why couldn't they have walked in on Black Lagoon or something else... y'know... less wacky?

Don't know how much it measures up to "nerdy", playing WoW, following mainstream manga(One Piece, Bleach, Naruto) even the hard stuff like Berserk, Ghost in the Shell,NGeva. What I am a bit ashamed to tell my friends is that I frequent 4chan...a lot(/b//v//tv/).

Well really there are lots of things I have not admitted to my friends. Nerdiness though is not normally the reason. My mind being pretty dark in places is normally the reason. Also since I joined a Games Development course I am by no means the nerdiest person I know. Hell I'm seemingly the posh guy in the group. Nerdy things are not a problem.

There is however one exception. A thing that many here also confess to.
My addiction to the My Little Pony TV show and fandom.
I'm not embarrassed by it. I have many very well reasoned arguments why I enjoy it so much.
I just don't want to have to use those arguments or deal with haters. Also sometimes it's nice to have something all secretive to yourself.

Three Words: Magic the Gathering. Not the video games either. The actual card game. My MTG friends know, but hardly a soul I know outside of them has any clue. And since our group has recently begun to dissolve, they never will....

I have a cloth poster of Rikku from Final Fantasy 10
As do I my friend, as do I.

But the one that I really can't talk about in 'normal' circles is Warhammer and 40k, as the majority of people know what it is they can, and often will, judge me for it. Its the only part of my nerdy set of hobbies where people outright ask me why I'd bother to play/collect. At that point I just want to punt them off a cliff.

My choice of music. It's either anime theme music, video game theme music, and underground rap. Given the fact that most of them have normal tastes in music, I can imagine getting some really bad looks from them if they found out. Not so much from the last one, because Organized Konfusion is awesome.

Oh god. They know everything, and they say it's part of why they love me. Of course I try to keep my nerdy-ness toned down when I'm around them, because I know they simply don't care.
