I want to hear about the most nerve racking boss fight you have encountered. The damage to your nerves probably comes either from its length or its fast-paced intensity, although sheer rage inducing difficulty works too.

The final boss from Beyond Good & Evil got on my nerves.
One of his attacks was teleporting right beside you, giving you a split second to hit him before he damaged you a lot, sometimes tricking you by teleporting again right away.
Then sometimes he would mess up your controls which made hitting him harder and very confusing.
Took me a while and a lot of focus to defeat him/it.

Space Mama, from Rayman 1. Good lord. It wouldn't be so bad if she didn't change her attack pattern each hit (she takes 12!) It took me three weeks as a kid to beat her.

The Emperor, from Lost Kingdoms 2. You go through 20 floors of pure, concentrated death, only to reach the 20th floor, have to fight the four strongest monsters from Lost Kingdoms 1 (all at once!), then you fight him without getting your health or anything restored. After ALL THAT, based on how well you didn't suck, you get a rating of one to three stars, which lets you choose that many prize cards out of six, with ONE of those being the emperor. If you die, or make the wrong choice, you have to start ALL OVER AGAIN! The best part was, the first time i beat him, I got a rating of 0 stars... /emo. Keep in mind, ittakes at least 2 hours to get to the top floor.

Last time I had a nerve racking boss battle was when I was playing Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin.

Pretty much every boss is hard as nails but when you face off against Dracula and Death at the same time and then have to fight Dracula's true form after it gets pretty hectic.

The final bosses in the Contra games are always intense, usually because they're hard, and if you die, you have to start the game all over again. They're always worth beating.

The Brute Chief at the end of Halo 2 on Legendary mode.

I did it once and I'm never going to play that level again.

Seems silly, but my nerve-wracking fight was when I was fighting the final boss in Battlefield: Bad Company. I ran out of RPGs, and ran everywhere trying to find more while the bastard rained bullets down on me in a helicopter.

Trema in FFX-2 comes to mind, always on the brink of death and when you challenge yourself with Fast ATB the battle is an intense firing of X-Potions and Phoenix Downs.

The first time I ever fought Giga Bowser in Super Smash Brothers Melee. I had never even heard of the guy, had no idea he even existed. I thought I was just clearing Adventure Mode again. When that trophy floated back up from the abyss, I knew I was in it deep. That was an intense fight, at least for me.

I dont know if anyone has ever played Phantom Crash, but i personaly found the final boos fight pretty insane (at least for my playstyle). Its a japanese mech game thats rather fast paced. I can kill mooks in under a second if i get them jsut right and even the second-to-last boss only took three minutes going one on one (with health and ammo drops into the area).

The final boss took me half an hour. Compared to three minutes for the second-to-final. And, i didnt get around to beating her until my third playthrough, which was two years after the start of my first playthrough..

Currently? "Occupation of Arteria Carpals", from Armored Core For Answer

It's the last level in the third story arc in the game, and the premise is that you not only joined the rebel like group "ORCA" but you basically became a terrorist and killed a hundred million people living on these sub orbital stations called cradles. Well, you're not the most liked guy in the last level, and so four Linx and their Nexts come gunning for you, while you and the piece of shit linx who asked you to destroy the cradle in the first place dies in two seconds tops.

It sucks, all of them start gunning for you at the same time throwing everything they got, you dodge one shot to get by two others, and before you know it you're sinking into the ocean wondering what the fuck just happened. On hard you gotta face five of them instead of four...haven't beaten it yet...

Dear man. That entire game shook me to my very core. I couldn't sit still for weeks.
