Bent that sucker over the table and gave it a colonoscopy.

My nerve racking, wracking? boss fight? Gannondorf in Ocarina of Time.
Nerve wracking? Epic sure, but I went back and did that for fun after a while... But hey, Epicness can be nerve wracking i guess

Salazar's Right Hand from RE:4. This giant, spindly scorpion thing chased me around a dank industrial environment for God knows how long. Took a direct hit with a rocket and survived. I finally managed to freeze it before exploding it with my shotgun.

That felt so good, my frontal lobes fused together.

A lot of fighting games have nerve racking bosses. Dead or Alive 3 & 4 especially, as well as the Guilty Gear series.

Metal Gear Solid for the PSX had some of the most enjoyable and involving.

The final boss fight in Condemned. One.

Anyone that has played that game knows what I'm talking about.
That one's not so much tough as it is distracting what with the whole angry killer guy running after you.

As for Bad Company's boss, I took him out with an airstrike, on the hardest difficulty setting. In two tries.

I feel I'm getting old, but I am going to have to go with whomever said Contra. That game and its ilk were the worst bastards in boss fights. You die? You start over! Unless you have lives left. Then you die again until you start over!

Ridley in Super Metroid. It may just have been my age but this terrified me. I was quite happy taking on Mother Brain; but Ridley just freaked me out.

Giygas from Earthbound
Ganondorf and Ganon from Ocarina of Time
The freaking Nightmare from Metroid Fusion. And the Fake Chozo Statue. And that spider thing.
The eponymous Metroid Prime, Omega Pirate, Dark Samus (in Metroid Prime 2) and Meta-Ridley.

Yeah, I likes me a good boss fight. My worst would have to be Omega Pirate. Took me SO MANY TRIES to beat. Then, on my next playthrough, I realised that he was easy with Super Missiles

My method aswell, took 2 hours to beat her, then guess what, i didn't save after and had to do it all over again.

The final bosses in the Contra games are always intense, usually because they're hard, and if you die, you have to start the game all over again. They're always worth beating.
