See this is why I need a time machine.

Imagine if this game was still un-opened and in perfect condition. Ka-ching. I would have a massive collectables set.
assuming the time machine isn't the only one in the world, your set would be worth less because every nerd looking to cash in quick will do either that, or invest in microsoft or google before they hit it big.

It is really so inconceivable or strange to so many people that something with seemingly little inherent value will sell for a lot of cash? Some people love collecting stuff, there have always been such people around. Spoons, eggcups, comics, Faberge eggs, video games, whatever, people will pay top dollar for rare stuff.

Or go really far back in time to like 2000 years ago. Claim I am the messiah, kill jesus as a child. Replace him with me. Get loads of paintings done of me. Go back to now and claim I have come back mabye some hair and stuff preserve it see if they can do DNA on it now. Then reap the benefits.
that doesn't sound like something a crazy person would do at all.

You may wish to study your bible, I don't think Jesus would be the best person to attempt to impersonate!

That is a hell of a lot for a NES. Even if it does come with a rare boxed game, it's still a very, very huge amount.

I wish I was that guy.

Much more logical than paying thousands for a piece of art.

Everyone's a winner I'd say.

Heck I got a old Virtual Boy Box somewhere in my attic I could sell.

*looks in box

And a old Virtual boy itself to sell I wonder how much I would get for that.

It was all smoke and mirrors. He didn't change water into wine. He wanted to hide the fact he got drunk at a party so when asked "was it you who drunk all the wine?" he replied "Nah I been drinking water all night. Just water." *JOKE*
Aye perhaps so, but I'd like to see you smoke and mirrors a crucifix ;)

But... But it's not even about the game! ...
Bah, forget it. I'm sure whoever got the game in the end will be vomiting sunshine and rainbows for weeks, so... good for them, I guess.
Ah - right. Well, let them enjoy the original cardboard box, then. :D

I understand where you're coming from; I would never do it (unless I thought that I could make a profit by selling it for a great amount later), but each to their own.

Gotta love the not-discovering rare items in your collection. I'm sure if this person knew just how valuable that copy of the game was they would have asked for more in the selling price and be that much richer
