Winter is lovely. Cold weather, snow, a nice warm house to stand as contrast...
But sometimes days like today happen. Last night I was on the phone with a friend...and she kept me talking until almost 6 AM. Meaning I got to sleep a few minutes before it got light out. Right at the front end of the day, in fact.
And this being Saturday and me being inclined to sleep in, I slept for a good eleven hours. Woke up at 5 PM. Opened my eyes a few minutes after it got dark out. Right at the back end of the day, in fact.
Of course this also means that by the time I get to sleep in the evening (especially if the insomniac friend in question calls again at some late hour and keeps me talking to her until sunrise again), I'll have spent something on the order of my last 24 waking hours in darkness for having slept clean through the day. While I'm not really prone to seasonal depression, this can't be good for my mental health (and I might want to get my hands on a Vitamin D supplement!)
For Discussion: Ever sleep clean through a day? I imagine those of you further north (in places like Alaska, Canada, Sweden, Scotland...) are more likely to say yes to this than those of us in lower latitudes, but I'm curious to know if there are any other would-be Draculas on the forum here.
