People who have been waiting for Assassin's Creed 3 to stop being "America fuck yeah" may find comfort in this. First of all the trailer doesn't even focus on the war and is more focused on showing off it's new engine, but also it refers to Conrad as a conflicted hero, makes emphasis of him being Native American, and in addition to British soldiers, it also shows him killing Americans with him attacking a platoon in the night as seen at 2:35 - 2:50 and overall the trailer seems to take a neutral stance on the war, talking about divided loyalties and shattered trust without pinning them on anyone in particular. Overall this trailer made me happy and made me look forward to the game again. What about you?

Also am I the only one who gets chills when the narrator says "welcome to the un-United States of America?"

I saw this about an hour ago. It's your typical hype trailer, add in a cool narrator and good footage to reel us in. No need. I was already sold on buying this game long ago, anything from here on out is just icing on the cake.

I am glad to see some of those bluecoats getting killed in this trailer not because I have a beef with them but because people can know shut up about this game being too pro-American.

I'm pretty sure Ubisoft had no choice to show footage of redcoats kicking the bucket last month because it was July. 4th of July and show blue coats getting killed. Sure, you'll have no controversy at all.

It's a game. I expect to be able to kill everyone and everything including the cute little stray cat. Fuck censorship and political correctness.

liked what they were saying about the naval battles. it'll be interesting as a sailor to see how realistic they are

I admit to knowing jack shit about past and present naval battles, but I'm pretty sure that they're pretty unrealistic considering that they fire entire volleys at the same time and reload a little too fast. They still look awesome though.

Oh.

I want russian assassins creed...

But now that I've stopped being an idiot, that's good news. I'm going to pick this game up, but probably not going to preorder. I have other things to buy!

Yay! We get to kill colonists! Hopefully this one will be more like the first in that you can just wander around stabbing people for as long as you want. I hated being desynchronized after murdering 3 NPCs in a row...

Now lets add French men to the mix. They were always the ones I wanted to stab the most.

Equally relevant, So does this mean that Team America song will get less usage on this thread?

As long as I can still beat up innocent civilians and drop them into the waterways to kill them without being desynchronized, I will be content.

So now people can shut the hell up about how awful the game is after all of the trailers showing red coats getting killed and none of the colonists.

Seriously though: Who else thinks that Mr. George Washington will pull some weird templar betrayal in this game. Ever since I saw the trailer with Connor killing that red coat general, that's all I can ever think about.

Honestly, anyone who thought that this was going to be an overly pro-American game obviously wasn't paying much attention to the promotional material that's been released so far. Remember the E3 trailer, where Connor says "they speak of 'liberty' and 'justice,' but for who?" or the gameplay demo where he says "let the Patriots fight their own battles; I'm here for the Templar"? Our hero clearly isn't particularly fond of the colonists either. Just his Native American heritage alone should have made that a given even without quotes like those. This just solidifies the moral greyness this game was already going for.
