In a speech outside his new Downing Street home, Mr Cameron said he and Lib Dem leader Nick Clegg would "put aside party differences and work hard for the common good and the national English interest".
National interest? No. No David Cameron. The English interest. The Scottish never fucking wanted the Tories. If you look at our results, they only gained one seat in a constituency that borders with England.

I can't wait to see how the Tories fuck up Scotland this time round.
Interesting you mention that if you look at the seat score in England the Tories got 4/5th of the seats. Labour got most of its seats from Scotland and wales.
um,
yes,
that's exactly what I meant.

They won purely on the English vote. Scotland and wales? Nah, we don't want a bunch of bigoted rich kids running our country.

The Tories are planning to get rid of the Student Awards Agency for Scotland apparently, which means I can't go to university because I'm not from an Upper Class like David Cameron, that utter tosspot, and I'm therefore, unable to afford it.

THANK YOU ENGLAND.
um....I feel the need to tell you that the tories aren't gonna scarp that scheme any more (don;t think they ever were going to completely). They are going forth with the national scheme where all the universities will be given greater grants but have free rating of set financial costs for going to uni (they can pitch their fees). Even the most pessimistic perditions only put the fees rising by £5,000 and with teh greater ability for grants you should be ok....hope that put you at some ease

Well, according to the BBC, it looks like the Lib Dems got 2 of their big election promises into the deal with a referrendum on the voting system and and increase in the level you hit basic rate of tax up to £10K *happy dance*

As long as these go through, I don't mind cuts as anyone who thinks we can go on without cuts is an idiot.
Oh, optimistic, I like it! *joins optimism camp*

Brown monday? did you coin that yourself I like it :p
I wish I could claim that one, it did make me chuckle!

Did you see the graph plotting the value of the pound over the past two days? There was a dip the size of the grand canyon at the same point Brown stuck his oar into the coalition talks. Then, tonight after things became clear that Brown was off, the graphs peaked higher than Ben Nevis.

That guy's a fucking curse, I reckon he must have walked past a homeless gypsy shaman without handing over a few coins many years ago, he's a walking hex!
What is funny is I actually sorta liked him when I saw him step down as PM when he was with his kids - when he smiled it seemed real and I was like he is just a regular guy. It was WRONG!!! It wasn't natural! This man is the inter-galactic dark-side encyclopaedia economist salesman!
Whatever PR guy told him to smile in public needs a punch. Brown looks like a madman when he smiles!

In all this talk about David Cameron being a prick etc., we seem to be forgetting that, if we ever have a vampire problem, we could just shine a torch at his fore (or should that be eight?)head and every damn one in a ten mile radius would explode.

That isn't what SAAS is. SAAS pays for all the tuition fees for Scottish students, without expecting it to be returned. Scotland's budget from Westminister is getting slashed and more than likely it's gonna take with it most of SAAS's funding.

& "only put the fees rising by £5'000"? Oh yes, that's re-assuring. NOT. I'm shitting myself about the fact that university as it is, is £3'290 per year. If that rises, and SAAS's funding gets cut at the same time, I absolutely WILL NOT be able to go to university.

2323: Details of the Tory-Lib Dem deal emerge. The Lib Dems have agreed to drop plans for a "mansion tax", while the Conservatives have ditched their pledge to raise the inheritance tax threshold to £1m. The new administration will scrap Labour's planned rise in National Insurance but some of the benefits will go to reducing income tax thresholds for lower earners.
2317: Conservative Andrew Lansley will become health secretary, the BBC learns. There is still no confirmation of who will be home secretary.

Lib-dems will receive 20 seats in government! 5 in the cabinet! 1 of which is nick clegg as deputy prime minister!

Ooh dear...i can see this whole thing ending badly. As much as i didn't like him, Brown was probably the best choice, and now we have a wally sitting in No.10.

I fear greatly for the country now...

Hey!
Conservatives didn't get in anywhere around where I live so that's thank you South of England actually. Oh, and North East.

This Cameron fella wants to send more troops to Afghanistan. Oh goody. The thing I dont get is why are Australian and British politicians so eager to please America, when the US didn't even help out the Commenwealth until they were directly threatened in World War 2?

Beats me.

But back on topic, I don't think all that much will change. After every election people either panic or start celebrating, but really - nothing changes.

Update on details of agreement:

2332: The Lib Dems have agreed to a cap on immigration and a commitment not to join the euro for the lifetime of the parliament.

As inspired by Dara O'Brian that poster. He mentions that idea on Mock The Week.

Actually...the Conservatives have stated in the past that they think it is "adequate" for places like Bristol, Oxford, Cambridge, Durham etc. to charge at least £20,000 a year - on the grounds that it will "discourage people who don't really want to go to university and end up doing Media Studies degrees, and will ensure that only those people who really want to be there, will".

But lol at the "only £5000" part!

That's a £8,295 university bill PER YEAR and just for TUITION.

So on a 3-year Undergraduate course, you complete your degree with £24,885 of debt. Add on at least £5000 a year in maintainance loan and so-on, and that's a total debt of around £40,000.

And people are expected to get decent jobs and pay this debt off, and move on to the housing ladder (MORTGAGES!) at the same time?

Feck, I struggle with the current cost of university & living. I would actually be forced out of my degree if fees rise.
