I'm going to get a new computer in less than a year, and I need one that is a laptop that can play Crysis 2 on max setting for under 1 grand. Is this possible? If so, point me in the direction of that laptop!

How much less than a year? If it's 10 months, start planning in 9. Likely going to be better specs for less money available by then, as there always is as time passes.

I'll say good luck with that and a lot happens in a year. The longer you wait you may actually get what your looking for, but for now I'm not aware of anything that fits your criteria. That is unless your playing via onLive.

Just get a desktop if you want to game. Honestly. If you plan to use it for schoolwork, I don't see how it affects you mobility wise either since you won't need it for class unless you're a comp sci major or something.

Edit: And to answer your question, no. No laptop of that kind on the market.

Maybe. Probably not. You may be able to get something that'll run Crysis 2 on max if you look hard enough - but if you can't find anything, you can always buy a cheaper computer that'll be able to run Crysis on lower settings for a bit, and then upgrade your RAM/graphics card/crip packet or whatever at a later date.
Also, I'd avoid getting a laptop - unless it's an Alienware one.
Oh wait.
If you're using pounds (£) you could buy a laptop from Alienware that may be able to run Crysis 2 on high, for about £800.

You might be able to do a desktop pc that can play it on max if you build it yourself, but I think a sub-$1000 laptop would be pushing it...
