Are we gonna have another inFAMOUS thing here? It looks like we might.

Calumon: Wow, does he cry in the end?

The new design looks like shit, if you're doing a reboot it's meant to be because you feel you could've done things better, not taking a gigantic step back.

At first I hoped that it wasn't actually Dante, but instead a whole new character, because I HATE the new character design. Even though he said his name was Dante I'm still hoping it's a new character, because honestly...what the hell? That is NOTHING like the Dante we know, reboot-excuse-be-damned.
I have a feeling it's either going to be shockingly good, or it's going to run the series right into the ground. Most likely the latter.

He looks like a brown haired Billy Idol, and the design looks awful. Oh white hair I will miss thee :( !

I like the idea of rebooting DMC
and I think I like the gritty punk rock style over the Gothic anime look of the past games

still why the fuck is his hair black ?

I wouldnt be suprised if this wasnt actually dante but another kid of spardas whos had a hard life. hes not using ebony or ivory the guns he inheirted from sparda nor does he have his amulet from his mother. he also wasnt using rebellion in the trailer. there are a lot of sparda heirlooms missing from this trailer. maybe this guy is actually crazy? :S
Are you sure he isn't using Ebony and Ivory? I can't get a really good look at the guns he IS using, but if you pause the trailer at 1:30, they look a lot like Ebony and Ivory, at least. I'm probably wrong, but just thought I'd point it out.

There isn't a single recognizable feature, not even his hair color is the same. What happened to him?

Either have the young Dante, or the ruggedly handsome Dante from DMC4. Not what ever "that" is.

I... kind of like this. I?m a bit surprised myself but yeah; this looks pretty good.

Cutting right to the sore topic: Dante?s design. This is literally EXACTLY what I have always imagined a very young Dante to look like: a thin, bratty, little punk. It?s the only thing that explains his behavior as an adult. His exterior may have changed as he got older, but inside he is still that little brat whose face you just want to smack. He finally has a body that matches his personality. Dante has always behaved like a little boy whose only sense of ?cool? comes from bad action flicks, so this all makes perfect sense to me.
Oh, and the hair. I guess he coloured it black? It wouldn?t be beyond him.

And what?s with all the hate for Ninja Theory? A developer as unproven as this one should not be able to garner such hate. Heavenly Sword was an alright game; certainly no masterpiece but not bad, and the presentation was downright amazing. The acting was brilliant in it. Their second game, Enslaved, is not out yet but it?s looking great so far. More than great, it looks like a contender for game of the year, so why shouldn?t Ninja Theory do DMC? These guys specialize in third-person action games. Do people object to them because they are a western developer, and the DMC franchise has never had one of those before? Honestly, look at DMC4 and tell me that the DMC franchise doesn?t need some fresh blood.

Actually the only thing that really bothers me about this is the name. Why is it that every franchise reboot these days has the bear the name of the original game? It?s just annoying.
But yeah; will be eagerly following this one.

I don't think the series needed a reboot, or any more sequels. It was a good series (except 2 ofcourse) but somethings should just die peacefully instead of getting a ton of plastic surgery to try and keep up and then everyones disappointed anyway

I'm thinking that this might be a totally new character, just like how Nero was the new character in DMC4. Still can't see why they'd do that again, but it makes more sense than the new 'gritty reboot' Dante that they seem to have now.

Can't wait for this to show up on youtube so I can get properly pissed off.
Guys it says in the trailer that it is Dante. Quite specifically "what is your name?" "Dante"

I'm finding Dante hard to take seriously when he looks like Lisbeth Salander from The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.
But Salander was such a cool character???

At any rate, I think you should be supportive of his recent sex-change operation and hair job. It took the poor guy five games to get past his androgynous phase, obviously it was harder for him deal with his inner demons than the outer ones.

[small]In reality, I agree completely; it's hard to take this as DMC, or as anything serious[/small]

The new design for Dante only mildly bothers me, with Ninja Theory at the helm, it's the gameplay that I'm worried about. DMC3 (and by extension 4) had an almost pitch-perfect combat system, I hope this new developer doesn't modify it too much (or try to make it like Heavenly Sword, god forbid).
Yeah, I'm very skeptical about this, but I'll wait 'till I see actual gameplay before I make a final judgement.
